I just did a simple speaker box build. Dead simple. Did it right, internal bracing, walnut wood, mitered joints, etc. I realized, A. I am not a pro. and B., woodworking is both fun and also very dangerous. Experienced one kickback. You can get hurt really quickly. I was paying attention and it still happened. Wood gets jammed, you push and bam. Came out great though but I think I am done. At least I learned how to glue and clamp corners. Harbour Freight had nice corner clamps on the cheap.

It's unlikely even that Wilton has thrust bearings; most vise manufacturers only put them in machining vises.
Chk the shaft size of your vise & pick up a Torrington brg to fit. Install it between the shaft stop & the movable jaw.
It WILL change your life. Using the vise metal break will become effortless.
No more pounding on the vise handle to loosen it after using a cheater pipe to get it tight enough... come on, don't deny it; we've all done it.
Well, I don't anymore! I can crank my vise tight enough to hold anything, by hand. Not even much effort.
Then give it a pull & it's loose.
When I discovered this 10+ yrs ago, I upgraded every vise I had, even the cheap Japanese vise that'd been a door stop for 25+ yrs. (I bought it so long ago, Japanese tools were crap like Chineseum tools are.)
    It's now a usable vise.

Once again.. Great videos like this stir the imaginations in so many ways.. Thank you.
One question.. the #3 bender.. might it be possible to put bolt holes in the base plate and add solid wedges marked for different angles (+ 3 degrees to account for thin metal spring-back) for fast production of repeated angle bends ?
Maybe set the wedge up with a removable plate to compensate for the spring-back plate for bending thicker metals that don't spring-back ?
I'm a retired Aircraft Sr Sheetmetal Tech and we worked with 2024 T3 aluminum mostly and always had to figure in the spring-back for fabricating thinner angles and clips. Just a thought.. Thanks again -Jake
