- After many months with the campervan in secure storage while I went cruising around the canals on my narrowboat - for which, see / @cruisingthecut - I am now moored for winter and that means I can go and get the van again and begin my plans for what to do with it and where to go over winter.
If you liked the video and wish to leave me a tip, thank you!

Winter is nearly here, the narrowboat is moored up, and David has returned to the van, it’s a happy day indeed.
I've watched CruisingTheCut for about a year now, had no idea about your second channel.
Maybe one should mention it when the narrow boat season is over.
Same just found this ☺️
Happy surprise finding you here 🤗 yay!!!!
Glad you can Cruise the cut again. Also looking forward to more Vandemonium👍
Been watching CrusingTheCut for about 9 months now and I had no idea at all about this second Chanel. I instantly subscribed! Keep up the great content!
Hello, welcome along.
Just found your other channel, recognized your voice and found you again from ages ago when you made your van build.Nice to see your enjoying your van and boat.
I'm a subscriber of both your channels and admire your courage and the freedom you live out of adventuring the water in summer and the land in winter. Can't wait to see more of your adventures. Cheers. xx
I was very glad to see a new Vandemonium vlog! I’m looking forward to all your new projects. Can’t wait to see where the van takes us this season!
I'd suggest he goes places where the canal doesn't - like the Lake District. Seems daft doing the Peak District when he can do that in the summer from the canal in better weather.
Yay! Vanny is back!
The blue wrap works to get your money, just as the red did.
Wonderful to see you back with Vannie!
Looking forward to more!
All love and best wishes, Claire, Berlin
Delighted you're back with Vandemonium.
We're glad to see the van back in action and look forward both to your new DIY van projects and your travels to more lovely country in the winter season.
Yay! Now I can double my viewing pleasure. Glad to see you back at the van and with some boat videos scheduled too. Looking forward to all. Thank you David. Have a great week.
Glad youre back....👍
As a subscriber to your CTC channel David I was aware of this 2nd channel but hadn't viewed it until now. That means another bloomin' back catalogue of vlogs to trawl through - gee thanks a lot !! 😎😲😨
Haha sorry!
Knew about Crusing the Cut, been watching for two years, but happy I found out about this one too
Nice one Dave the van is turning more like the Tardis everyday Doctor Who wud be proudly you ✌️
Looking forward to seeing all the projects come to fruition.
I must have ‘ found’ you right after you went back to the narrow boat this past year. This is a big surprise to me. I had no idea. I’ve spoke about my motor coach in regards to your narrow boat a few times on your other channel. Guess what? I own a Promaster van. It’s the Fiat van in the EU. I use mine for many things. I put windows and a roof vent in, but keep it stock otherwise. I have camped in mine with a cot, ice cooler, genny, gas stove, a portable air conditioner in the summer or a catalytic heater in the winter, and a portable privy. I don’t always want to take the motor coach out and go alone in my van. I took a 2600 mile trip 3 weeks back. Small world.
Oh! I've really missed you! So glad you've come back to us. We ready to roll with you.
Their must be really good money in making these videos.Good for you, living your dreams
Goodness me, no. The income from RUclips unless you have thousands and thousands of subs (and thousands of views, as a result) is pretty minimal.
Well this brightened up a Sunday morning. Safe travels, old man!
I just came over from your narrow boat channel.
Not sure if you have found your voltage drain but a bad ground is usually the culprit in DC voltage loss. I'd check your grounds and clean them as needed.
Cheers and happy travels!
Peak district good choice. Lots of places to wild camp. If That's what you like. If you have a heater Scotland's North coast 500. Did it in February. You won't be disappointed.
you are an extremely cool dude!
Great to see you back David...looking forward to watching your new adventures
It's so good to see you back in the van!
I really like how you've fitted out your van, and the trips you've taken us on with it.
Onward
Head to the Peaks if you like hill walking fantastic at any time of year. Plenty of places to park up, Heathersage, Castletown, Edale, Stalybridge where the canal runs past Tesco's!! Have a great time wherever you end up.
I have been subscribed to your narrow boat channel for a long time. I knew you owned a van but didn't realize you had another channel. Just subscribed.
I got a FLIR camera for my phone recently. Prices are coming down. Then a Christmas sale it’s was half price. Much better then the IR thermometer. I’m running around taking pics of my electrical box, switches and outlets. Found one hot spot and tightened a screw to fix it. It’s neat kit for sure.
I'm a fan of Cruising the Cut and didn't even know about this vlog.
!!
Well this was a gem, didn't know your "other" channel existed, now i banterize you in parallel !!!! and btw if you are going to strip off and start Vogue'ing in the van , it might be an idea to project some blinds!
well this is a pleasant surprise David !
I figured it wouldn't be long before you brought the van back out. Looks like you had a great storage lot. Looks like you have a great set of projects lined up for the winter. I think it is funny that you talk about the exhaust heat on the van heater as byproduct you want to get rid of and all I was thinking about was how can that heat be scavenged back into the van. Good luck, I hope your new marina is as camper van diy friendly as the last one was.
Wonderful to see you back in the Van, I hope your Winter won't be too bad, been watching Cruising the Cut since inception, never miss it. Nearly your shortest day, so at least the days will, albeit slowly, be getting jst a little longer, I seem to recall it was more psychological than anything else ;-) Paul, Johannesburg (where temps are likely quite similar (around 30 degrees) however mine is Celsius rather than Fahrenheit :-)
We too are in Celsius!
Oh hell you even have a Narrow Van!
David I love your 'technical' explanations, they are something I can live with.
Yes another channel 😄
Popped over from Cruising the Cut and subscribed!
Welcome along!
Yay! Back to the van. I’ll miss the Cruisin’ vids, but it’s nice to see the Van vlog continue.
There will still be boat vlogs too!
Vandemonium even better! Love the content, as always.
My coffee and I don't have to wait until spring after all. I forgot your second channel.
There will still be boat videos too!
@@Vandemonium Oh whoopee.
Just found this ... Watched all the cruising videos ... Now for these ...
Yea! The van is back with a million new projects and trips!
Glad to know more vlogs are coming.
Glad to see the van out, but sorry to see the canal boat is hibernating
There will still be boat vlogs too!
@@Vandemonium awesome!
Thanks Vandemonium
_Excellent_
Woohoo! Truly I believed that you "filed" your van project in the ol 86 bin ! And then here we are! Doing a little pre-trip inspection of one of the most interesting and "on the ground floor " endeavors I've been able to watch! (Next to your fine canal boat, of course.) Vantastic.
Fun to check out your Van Channel for the first time ...sweet ride !! ... looking forward to seeing what you get up too !!! Thank You for the ride along : )
Welcome back sir We love the channel and can't wait to see where you go
Drive abroad, Portugal or Spain, UK weather sucks this year.
Mike Hurley The UK weather doesn't just suck this year...it sucks most years. Which is why I retired to a sun-kissed corner of the EU ten years ago and currently am in T-shirt and shorts.
I’ve spent time in the south of Spain. I can compare it to Florida USA. I guess when it gets cold in the northern hemisphere all who can head south. Be it the US or the EU. Gets crazy.
Man almost forgot about this page. Glad your back, can’t wait to see all the DIY projects
Excellent vlog, looking forward to van season and following your projects!
When using infrared temp gauge put some blue or black tape on anything shiny like a silver pipe to get a more accurate reading.👍✌️😊🙏🏼
Some have a setting for material and ir 'colour', probably the more expensive ones though, ours at work certainly did.
It's only 1,500 miles to Málaga where you wouldn't have to concern yourself about the heater. I suppose you may want to stay closer to the boat, family and the occasional paying gig. Have a good winter.
Yeah, I need to stay relatively local.
Looking good! Hoping for a mild winter as well! Christmas Garland looks great too!
David it must be a culture shock going from 10 kilometers an hour in the boat to the van that can hit 100 easy? I didn't know you had this channel also you really need to promote it on cruising the cut.
I don't think you're alone in not knowing so I'm going to give it a mention in my Christmas video, I think
What a pleasant surprise to find out you have a "Winter" channel! We do enjoy living vicariously through your camera lense. Thank you for sharing. :^)
I just found this channel, I love cruising the cut! Glad I can watch the van vlogs.
👍👍😎🐨
I must admit when I heard you were tinkering with your van again I was so excited a little bit of wee came out.
Yuck. Too much information!
Tena pants!
So you can live with excitement induced incontinence!
And, to quote the ad, "they even look pretty!"
Mannn, you are multifaceted 😉. I have made the move from the narrowboat channel to here. Thanks for sharing, keep the videos coming and safe travels 🙏.
Nice to see the van back david..
Nice to see Vanny again 😊
Despite having watched so many CruisingTheCut videos, I was briefly very surprised and wondered when the van had been panelled in wood. 😅 Tiredness occasionally has a silver lining, or at least an amusing one!
Great to see these videos back. Boating videos are good but it is nice to have a change and learn some new DIY skills.
I was getting kind of bummed that you were going to be moored up for quite a while and then I got this video suggestion on my main RUclips suggestions and saw you in the thumbnail! I did not know you had a Camper van and now I'm excited!
Nice to see you off the boat and on the road.
I hear Wales calling again David,my favourite winter channel,Chris
Look forward to anything you get done in the van or trips you take bro. All the best
I've been following Cruising the Cut for quite some time and discovered Vandemonium just this morning. I'm not a vanner or narrowboater but I really enjoy your informative and often evocative videos. Plus you're a funny guy. And your video (and audio) work is clean, sharp and professional. Just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you!
Looking forward to your van vlogs David......bring them on.........thanks for sharing
Good to see you, thought you would be gone this winter, good to see your van!!!
Just subscribed. Enjoyed all the Narrow boat vlogs and now looking forward to the van vlogs. Interested to see how you deal with any condensation issues when the real cold arrives. Looking forward. Regards.
I didn't really have any (that I noticed) last year, and I used the van in subzero temps (just)
On Water and on Land; Air coming 2024? Cannot wait to see more Van Video. Keep up the great work.
Great to have Vandemonium back! I look forward to your DIY adventures and otherwise!
When one is talking ones clothes off. Now thats the Queen's English. Bravo chap.
Fantastic to see you back - I’m subscribed to both of your channels, and they’re both fantastic!
Thank you
such a contrast----the roar of the motorway versus the peace of the canals.
You are going to be busy!! Can’t wait to see the upcoming vlogs. Happy travels🚐
Good to see the van again. The Peak District sounds lovely, looking forward to seeing it...fingers crossed.
Nice to see you back👍 (although i've been following 'cruising the cut') Bon voyage💙🚐
Great to see Vandeminium going again!
Welcome back David's Van. Looking forward to the new road trips.
David, great to see the VLOG back in gear.. I am looking forward to your adventures.
And I thought we would miss you all winter I quite forgot the van......projects to enjoy and trips to look forward too...weather permitting ...I can feel a cup of tea coming on
No, no, there’ll still be narrowboat vlogs, as always.
Welcome back! You have just answered every question that I started to ask at the end of your last Cruising the Cut vlog. Well done! I hope you have several good trips in your van this winter and may the clouds part to give you glorious sunshine each time you start a project or take the van out. Good luck!
It's good to see the van again
Welcome back to the van chan.
Holy crap! It's been a hot minute. Welcome to the Vvvvvv-log.
Glad to see you back with the van.
Put a fan on the exhaust, no need to waste heat. That's how original Volkswagen heater boxes were made.
I have owned several Beetles '63 and on and the heater boxes didn't have fans if my memory is correct.
My apologies. I did a little research and found a YT video explaining the heating system on the early Beetles. Imagine that. You were right about the fan.
I always love your commentary sir! Well done!
I'm subscribed to both your channels. So when this popped up, I just watched as normal. Didn't realize at first you had switched from the boat until you said something. Lol
Safe travels and Happy Holidays
David your vlogs are as always interesting
I like that, 4:08, I don't know how it works. Honesty is the best policy. = ) Hello David, this is my first visit to the van vlog. I have clicked the like button and I am subscribed. I have a friend that is looking at that heater to put in her trailer house. She wants a wood burning stove, but I won't let her do it as she has a history of falling because she is handicapped and can't walk without a walker. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I can now bother you on both of your vlogs. 😀
Hello John!
@@Vandemonium, Hi David, Hope you have a great winter. 😁
Wow your van faired well from the British Atmosphere Without a Garage.
Very little grime.
Looking Forward to Sharing in Your Adventures, Cheers
Good to see Vandemonium back. Looking forward to your travels in the Peak District.
Yes, go to the Peak District. Castleton, Hope, Bamford, Hathersage, and Edale, fantastic area. Ilona
Hi...Happy New Year ...💐
