    I can't tell you how often I will use this, Jeff! I have been lugging my workstation laptop around for years. When on vacation, I take my backpack full of stuff and set up for a few hours prior to my wife being ready to roll. This will be a game-changer! Thanks for providing all kind of productivity tools for this 65-year-old Revit user. Who would have thought, when I started using AutoCad on my 8088 computer (with floppy drives!) ....

If so, then when I'm gone on trips or out of the office but don't want to take a full laptop with me, this is definitely going to be my go-to option. So excited, as a new Revit designer I’ve thought about how there should be accessibility to Revit or Bluebeam on the go. Turns out that Revit wasn’t an option and Bluebeam app is more of a hassle. With this capability I believe some smoother sails are ahead. Thanks for the update and I can’t wait to get up to work on this option tomorrow!

    What a great option! I would love to be able to use Jump Desktop to run Revit on my iPad. The massive size of our laptops really make them semi-portable desktops. The flexibility of using the iPad would allow for better collaboration with team members, owners, and clients. We work in 3d and then try to explain it all to others in 2d. Using the model itself would streamline the process and help to make us more efficient .

I think the portable nature of running Revit to an iPad could be a very useful for jobsite visits, remote productivity, or even simply pulling the model up in front of a potential client in a coffee shop rather than having to be tethered to a desktop. I think all three of these scenarios is how i would use Jump Desktop.

    Hi! I'm so happy I found your video. Even if I'm here a couple of years later :) I was wondering if it's possible for the Ipad to host Revit, rather than jump desktop? I don't have a lot of resources to buy an Ipad plus also a laptop to host the Revit. The laptops I have not are 7 and 10 years old, so the hardware is significantly outdated. I was looking for something portable like an I pad or perhaps a surface, with the added benefit of touch screen. But reviewing the specs I see that the dedicated graphics are borderline for Revit. If I want something with a better graphics card, then I have to sacrifice touch screen and portability, and go with a clunker, lol. I might still have to, or maybe I should get two "middle of the road" devices, an I pad and a laptop? I would greatly appreciate your comments.

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  11 месяцев назад +1

      You cannot run Revit on an iPad or Mac natively. If we are doing small projects only you can get away with a more budget friendly machine. A dedicated graphics card is 100% a bare minimum… you’ll thank me later.

    This is insane! I am a South African Mechanical building services engineer and BIM manager for Triocon Consulting engineers. We are overseeing construction of a 21 floor residential building and being able to do inspections and make model adjustments on site using this workflow would be very helpful as one tends to forget some detail or need more context when problem solving off site requiring additional site visits, this flow would allow me to inspect and address the issue on site there and then. I am definitely looking into this, thanks Jeff

    You just need very good internet connection when you’re out an about. I have even tried connectivity via my mobile data. Sometimes a bit slow but does work.
    There is also teams viewer and google desktop which do work too to connect to your desktop.

Best advantages for anticipated use: 1. Rapidly switch between iPad apps and Revit; 2. Sharing the collaborative power of table-top tablet view with a client, contractor, or other stakeholder. 3.
