The movie and the soundtrack have broken all kinds of records and is a mainstay in pop culture. Every generation discovers this movie and falls in love with it. It makes both of them and the entire cast immortal. Olivia and John had amazing chemistry and mutual attraction but they were both in their own relationships and back then, you didn't leave your love to love another. Her catalog of music is epic as is his catalog of film, but they remained the best of friends always. When she died last August, he was devastated and has never gotten over it. He presented at the Oscars last night and the reference to her shook him. You could tell he had been crying. I met her once at a cocktail party and I got it. She could pierce the soul of anyone, not by her stardom or talent, but by her kindness.

That movie Grease was my favorite at all times. Even that beginning movie Grease is a word was a big hit too. That make you all dance into your groove with that song. Now, let me give you a background about ONJ wore the black spandex pants. She says that when John was sang “ Sandy” ( yes, he can sing) then ONJ has to goes in trailer to tried on black leather spandex on her. Unfortunately, a zipper was broken and they can fixed it. She saying that first pants that she did tried on it was old. Then second one did fixed her well. She had not been eaten in one day. Next day before she and crews was doing “ you are the one that I want “ Olivia became a whole new look as a new Sandy. Everyone around her that they all stunned by her look totally beautiful . Hey! They did an outstanding job on Olivia. Grease was massive that we all never ever forget.

Wonder if you guys ever saw "Welcome Back Kotter" where Travolta first got famous? I liked that sitcom. There's also a Grease 2 - but grease 2 is different than this grease in that - the movie is kind of cheesy but I still liked it. One of those - its so bad its good. When Half asked if it was really John Travolta's singing voice, I know y'all are too young for this but A Very young John Travolta got his (at least far as I know) start or big break with a show about high schoolers and their teacher from somewhere in New York. It was called Welcome Back Koetter. He played Vinnie Barbarbarino. His voice on this movie and the singing is sort of the same voice without the thick Brooklyn accent but still can hear it even when he sings here. Edit: this show was back in the 70s I was a little girl with a crush on Vinnie Barbarino. He was a ladies man in the show.
This movie was so part of my youth. I had this on VHS and would watch it ALL the time!! Got it the old fashion way, just taping it when it came on TV. I also had records to a few of the songs. I am getting old.

The original Grease co written by Taft HS (NW side Chicago) grad Jim Jacobs, was musical before made into movie. Always thought funny based off his Chicago HS experience, actors had sort of east coast accents, and movie in California.

Fair to say I did none of those, as I was only 10 still a good time though. And to see Debra Winger is always a plus

He sang and danced on welcome back kotter and saturday night fever made him the disco king. Beautiful photos of him ball room dancing with Princess Diana, she looked so happy.
