If you enjoyed this one you should 100% check out "Black Phone" from the same director/writer team, adapted from a book by Joe Hill (Steven King's son) and easily one of my top 5 movies from the last 5 years!
They did a study monitoring the heart rate of people watching horror movies and this movie was the winner for that lawnmower scene with the biggest spike during the jumpscare.
So glad more people are checking this one out for reactions it's one of my favorites for the season. It's probably one of the only films that scared me when I first watched it next to grave encounters
I had really bad Night Terrors when i was kid. I had all those tests and scans that Regan in the Exorcist had done. Mine were done at 7 in 1972 a year before Exorcist came out. I'd go about 2 weeks having them every night and then go a few months without them. I'd run around the house and my parents were pretty freaked. We were backed up to forest and my parents were afraid of me getting out and getting killed by a mountain lion, coyotes, snakes, etc. The dreams eventually got less often and intense where in high school i woke up standing in the kitchen about 3 times and that was it.
i seen this in theaters when it first dropped and let me tell you it was the first time i remember feeling that kind of fear even to just watch the screen when nothing scary was being seen.. lol i think you would get the creeps heavily watching the possession of Hannah Grace
That scene where the children chase him through the house and always jump out of sight just before he turns around is so cheesy but it's also so good! It conveys that feeling of something breathing down your neck so well!
2012 was one hell of a year for horror movies. It produced two of the movies I consider top tier scary - Sinister and The Woman in Black. Save her for next Halloween!
Sinister has been shown through a study to cause anxiety more than any other film in history. May I recommend Oddity (2024). I have written 26 horror stories, and I am jealous of whoever came up with Oddity. It was a great story.
I remember my wife and I watching this in the theater. We went on a Wednesday night after it had been out for a couple week and there was only 6-8 other people in th whole place. It's made the experience a little creepier I was really stoked to see it after watching the trailer but I was a little disappointed afterwards. It's a really creepy movie and the way it was shot really amplifies that. But, Just fely like it could have been better in some way. The "Insidious" movies are still my favorite and I hope you can watch them some time. Great reaction. I know you aren't a horror fan, but good on you for scraping up enough courage to watch this. Happy Halloween.
This was a great reaction 🙏🏽✌🏽💪🏽💯 I’m a part time paranormal investigator this stuff is actually real it’s just people don’t understand on a spiritual level
12:50 these kind of film projectors often caught the film on fire because the light bulb is so close to the film. Especially when you pause the player. You should really never pause an old time projector or you risk the film catching fire.
I have seen this movie. Now, I'll just start by saying this. I still think that the scariest movie ever is The EXCORCIST! I watch a lot of horror movies and this one stuck to me. I loved it! There is a sequel but, it's not as good as this one. But, like I always say, check it out for yourself and see.
The brilliance of “Lawn Work ‘86” is that it didn’t actually show anything; a combination of sound design and Ethan Hawke’s performance sold the horror.
Kamilla, your courage is undeniable. Courge is the act of overcoming fear and you do that in such a cute way.😊 Some movies to get your patrons voting on are IN COLD BLOOD, a true story about a horrific murder. It was filmed in the house where the murder took place. Another fact base movie about murder and political power is MURDER IN COWETA COUNTY, starring Andy Griffith as the bad guy and singer Johnny Cash as the good guy. The there is my favorite killer (not really as he was such a despicable human being) Jack the Ripper. In 1988, which marked the 100th anniversary of the murder, they came out with a 2 part series titled JACK THE RIPPER. Other good Ripper type movies/series TIME AFTER TIME which is pure fantasy as the Ripper gets hold H.G.Wells time machine and travel forward to 1979. An absolutely great 3 part series is WHITECHAPEL about a modern day killer that immitates our boy Jack. RIPPER STREET takes place after the murders and is a good series about the Whitechapel section of London in the 1890s. There are quite a few movies based on the Ripper murders, but most are garbage. I hope you have a chance to get your patron to vote on some or all of these movies/series.😊😊
It'd be a shame if you don't want to see another one like this, as the sequel Sinister 2 is a fun follow up to this starring the 'deputy Something' trying to follow the mystery and stop it. It's a fun ride, if maybe not as novel as this one. :)
The film catching fire wasn’t anything supernatural. With movie projectors like this, if you stop the film with the light/lamp on-or it gets stuck within the projector-the heat from the lamp will scorch and then burn the film. (I grew up making movies with my friends on 8mm film.)
The first half of this movie is bordering on horror perfection. Then the silly backstory with the professor plus the goofy special effects on the kids start it downhill.
Great reaction you made it,is this relative to this I don't know, but 1946 Jack Parsons performed santinic rituals in the Mojave desert that allegedly opened portals into other dimensions that released demonic spirits into our realms and his partner was Ron L Hubbard creator of Scientology unfortunately jack died mysteriously, before he could reverse what he did knowling. Now on the other hand Walmart has sold coloring books filled with demonic symbols to color and on other page is blank for the children to practice until those little children start making on the walls and doors of their house until it's to late
@FuhqEwe well this might in 2003 that's when German archaeologists found the tomb of Gilgamesh in Iraq, a demigod who reined for 126 years he's the one in the Samaritan tablets with a statue of him holding two lions like the size of kittens.the Sam Year the US military was the and allegedly stole the findings, the US government is foul but I'm sure you already knew that
I wish Scott Derrickson made more horror movies he clearly has a talent for it. But nope he would rather make awful Marvel movies. I'll take a Sinister and Insidious crossover over a lame Marvel movie any day. Seriously though that would be a great movie. I hope it happens in the future.
I dont see whats so scary about this movie I've seen way worse in other horror movies & Mr. Boogie? Thats the best name they could come up with for the monster in this movie i mean u got horror names like Freddy Krueger Michael Myers Jason Voorhees & then u have Mr. Boogie that doesnt scream horror to me it makes me think of music & stuff like that jus voicing my opinion i dont think this is all that scary
Almost a little too smart, figuring everything out way ahead of schedule. Then again, far preferable to reactors who still have no clue even after the film spells it out in huge neon letters. The movie does have a couple issues, like the overuse of the dark house, but the sound work, and especially the short films are just fantastically done.

Thank you for "suffering" through spooky season! Loved every reaction. Happy Halloween Kamilla, and now maybe you can focus on lighter films!
You must watch the other cult classic vampire movie of the 80s *Near Dark*
4:25 "That is so lovely, we get to know about the family that lived here" That made me laugh so hard 🤣🤣🤣
This movie perfectly captures the sense of dread. Perfect ending for a story like this
They did a study monitoring the heart rate of people watching horror movies and this movie was the winner for that lawnmower scene with the biggest spike during the jumpscare.
If they did that to me while i was watching the floating guy scene in hill house it would break the machine 😂
I can testify to that 🙆🏻♂️
I’m pretty sure insidious won
Ably assisted by that noise which sounds like the devil vomiting.
@ yeah definitely, even though they have conjuring up there, but I honestly believe insidious and sinister are more intense with the jump scares🙆🏻♂️
Thanks for taking one for the community! This is a *GOOD* one! 😉♥
As a metalhead I always loved this movie because the look of Mr. Boogie, and the music, was heavily inspired by Norwegian Black Metal.
And let's not forget the brilliant Boards of Canada for the 'sort of' main theme/credits track.
With these film projector, it was normal the film caught in fire when you freeze frame a shot because the light bulb was so hot.
"that is so lovely we get to know about the family who lived here."
I was grinning with glee when you said that, knowing what was to come hahaha 👻👻👻
I wouldn't say this is the scariest movie ever made, but it definitely has some really good jump scares.

they tested horror movies with heart rate monitors and other stuff. and this movie is by far the scariest to people throughout from all horror movies.
2012 was one hell of a year for horror movies. It produced two of the movies I consider top tier scary - Sinister and The Woman in Black. Save her for next Halloween!
This one made the top three out of the movies with the most intense jump scares, although it has already been pointed out on here🙈

Hey centane, i went on a horror binge starting with this movie months back
This movies wasn't based on a book but interestingly it was based on a nightmare by one of the writers.
Never watched, but ended up being better than i thought!! This is how Terror/Horror movies should be!
Thank you for the video! =)
This movie is a masterclass in how to make a horror movie.
This was amazingly entertaining to watch 😊 looking forward to october next year!
Great pic for a Halloween night! I hope you enjoy it!
I hope you'll have a wonderful Halloween

Boy, this is a nasty, twisted film. Helmed by a very strong performance from Ethan Hawke.

I saw jaws and sinister this year for the first time too

Famous Ethan Hawks Daughter was in Stranger things season 3
I think you’re the only person who put it together that they CAN’T move or they will die.
And they did it anyway. lol
Im currently watching midnight mass, same guy also created hillhouse
Source of many nightmares for me, I have not seen the sequel, I heard it bombed.

Made by the director of Doctor Strange 1. He wanted a gore rated R sequal and marvel disagreed, so he left doctor strange 2
I think the young deputy was Ziggy in The Wire, season 2
This one, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, and The Grudge I have to watch if I ever want to watch them again have to have the lights on.
The deputy policeman is in IT 2
I knew Centane would hate this one. Really great horror movie, though.
This reaction needs more candy. Trick or treat for sure

Sinister… you’re in for it now😅😅😅😅
I WAS NOT READY LMAO
today is my bday 🎂 30th before Halloween 31st 🎃 👻 🧙♀️ 💀 🕷🕸 this is a good scary movie

A girl watching Sinister by herself? You deserve an award 🥴
This movie gets me somehow.
Completely stunning😍😍😍
This is a truly terrifying movie.
The first half of this movie is bordering on horror perfection. Then the silly backstory with the professor plus the goofy special effects on the kids start it downhill.
If you want a horror movie with a its is both a bad and happy ending would be The Woman in Black, with Daniel Radcliffe
Check out evil dead 2, and people under the stairs, if you've not seen them
you should a MEDAL (or better... a HUGE CASH REWARD! 🤣) for getting through this movie! 👍☺
"I did not like this" oh you loved it be quiet lol
I will really miss October
Scary movie.
Please react to Keanu Reeves supernatural movies Constantine and The Devil Advocate, I promise you will love it
Terrifier
im sorry, camilla, but i enjoy watching u a little scared 😂

The Exorcist is the scariest movie ever made and has been for over 50 years.
There's nothing really scary about The Exorcist though. It's a great horror movie but I never understood how it could scare someone.
"Lawnwork '24" 😳
