I've never seen in any TCG two pre-constructed decks play out so smoothly and fluently. Super excited to be able to pick up a new TCG after years of playing all the rest. Just can't find it anywhere!
Was already hooked with this TCG, but Prism actually took it to a whole other level... that style of play has always appealed to me, more than any other style. You now have a Prism player for life :D
"I've never seen that before. What's that?" hahah those are always my favorite moment in these matchups. great content, guys! these battles really are helping me get familiar as I haven't been able tik play with anyone, just practicing the mechanics on my own with two decks.
These showdowns are great! Jason playing near perfect, lol.. Also the explaining is very nice for learning to understand.. Kinda sad Jason was not able to utilize the mentor card (again) and the same goes for Karol.. (those cards seem underpowered atleast outplayed) Anyway now it would be great to see this same format were Jason plays Prism against Levia and also like to see him do Boltyn against Chane.. And maybe to complete the circle Levia vs Chane and Boltyn vs Prism.. Those would also be interesting to watch, I bet more people would agree.. Keep it going!
This is the matchup I have been waiting for! Still unsure who I would rather start brewing with, although I am leading on Chane. Great stuff, and great quality video!
Looks like Chane becomes more and more reliant on using his ability as his banished zone becomes more full so he can play more from there a turn, which only makes it worse the next turn. Cool design. I think I like the light warrior class better for the light side.
Nice video, thanks! On the other hand, I cannot play with people who's shuffling the cards like that all the time. That's my thing and I totally respect people doing that but, is there any one else who feels the same way? ARRRG xD
as a new player trying to learn the game while I wait for my dekcs to arive it is very nice to see this quite good commenting on what you do. Keep this up :)
Very nice game. Thanks for this showdown. I do not understand how prism works, though. please help. feels like if your opponent have lot of powerful attacks you can just pack up your deck and go home. here, prism deck wasn't able to do anything after turn 4 while chane was doing all the game. played my prism deck once and it felt the same. i felt powerless while my friend was "playing alone". but comments everywhere are like "prism is very good, versatile, smooth, etc..." am i missing something ?
Against classes that go wide with smaller attacks (like Ninjas), Prism's Phantasm attacks are very strong since they are unlikely to be destroyed, but her Spectra auras can easily be taken out. While classes that throw one big attack each turn (like Guardians) can take out phantasm attacks easily, but struggle against spectra auras. Hope this helps!
This video was a half hour long but didn't feel like it at all. Prism looks so powerful on the surface but having a chain force closed like that and losing the rest of your turn is such a huge cost.
I think Jason knew Karol’s deck better than Karol. Great example of a player knowing the opponents deck as good as their own and exploiting that knowledge well played a lot of fun to watch
Game loosing mistake at 27:03 - If Karol was more patient and blocked the 3 dmg with his Rising Solartide from Hand (actually preventing 4), Jason would not get a killing blow with 1 unblockable arcane damage point.
6:25 you got go again for galaxi black from the soul shackle. Does this mean items and cards that give your next attack action go again also give weapons go again?
Not if it's "next attack action card", the "card" is important. The text of Chane says only "next runeblade or shadow action" So, Galaxxi Black is "Once per turn action" and Shadow / Runeblade.
Did he just make @22:35 an attach reaction even though that the defending player didnt defend ?.. i thought that was not possible.. if there is no defending action then the attach reaction cant happen.. am i wrong ??.. can someone point me to the rule in rules book or site reference ?
An attack reaction is a reaction to your own attack. It does not require the defender player to play anything. All they did was snapdragon their own attack to gain an action point
Game looks good and am excited to give it a go. I would reccommend for a demo video on your official channel keeping the card shuffling and flicking to a minimum. I find it distracts from the game demonstration as the movement and the noise draw focus. My undestanding is this may be a habit picked up from playing in tournemants but it feels unnecessary and potentially alienating in a demo game for a new product.
Thank you for posting this tutorial, but I feel like I couldn't understand what you two were saying sometimes. It sounds like you guys are talking down into your chest rather than clearly into a microphone.
Love seeing the new heroes in action. Awesome playthrough. Just wondering if these are the pre-built blitz decks that you are playing with? Great stuff!
February 7th 2022 was my first ever tournament also was the first day I officially played this game at all my deck was then and still is chain little by little I'm getting the expensive cards that he needs I've played two tournaments and a couple of games outside of it so far and he is the most awesome deck I think I've ever played in any card game and nobody's paying me to say this this is just my personal opinion
I am under the assumption that you have to pay the resource costs for cards played from the banish zone? But it doesn't happen here so i guess i'm wrong?
It’s a bit of a risk if you ask me. Mentors stay in the arsenal, so you’re limiting the cards you see each turn from 5 (4in hand, 1 in arsenal) to 4. It depends on if you can quickly achieve their triggers to find your specialisation...
His Seeping Shadows was a Shadow Runeblade Action, i.e. a non-attack action (since it doesn't have a "- Attack"). That is the only non-attack action he'd played that turn at that time. Karol asked because he was pointing at the Rift Bind, i.e. he was anticipating what the next attack would look like (and eventually was, at 19:45).
@@jeremynewell8917 I guess I don't understand what your point is, then; what Jason said was true, and it was relevant to the gameplay at the time it was asked
also really great videos by the way, super clear and really nice to see how the decks play, i just got some myself and its super helpful to get a feel of the playstyles!
On the last turn, after playing 2 seeds of agony, how come Jason’s Piercing Shadow Vice only ping for 1 point of arcane damage as opposed to 2? I didn’t quite understand his explanation.
He played a yellow or blue seeds of agony, couldn't tell which, that only triggers on an attack action that costs 1 or 0. Since his attack action cost 2, only the red seeds triggered it's affect
What specifically makes the combat chain close? Why doesn't the next attack simply add to the chainlink? Is it when you activate an action that is not an action-attack? I'm asking because I'm worried I might be playing V of the Vanguard wrong
This looks like a cool game, just learned of its existence recently. I have some questions though: why are many cards 1000s of dollars on TCG player? Are there plans to print more of these cards, or are they meant to be an exclusive collectible? To be honest the prices kind of scare me away from the game. The monarch decks seem to be reasonably priced but the rest of the game seems inaccessible at the moment.
don't be scared by the most expensive cards as they're rare foils or promo's that you wouldn't usually see. most if not all cards can be a special 'cold foil' which is incredibly rare (like 1 in 4 booster box rare so 1 in 96 packs) prices on MOST cards is actually really affordable, the biggest sink is in great cards/equipment that is hard to get or can fit in any deck. and even then prices usually shift and change as new sets come out.
The video seems really helpful but I couldn't even watch it because of the constant hand shuffling going on. It was pretty distracting from what is going on during the match for both my wife and I. I had to stop watching after only a few minutes because it was too distracting and took away from the over all discussion.

I love how incredibly the game's play styles have been expanded with these new heroes. So good!
Great to see you in these videos as well, Karol! :)

These are making it incredibly tough to decide which hero to play during the prerelease, I'm going to have to be really careful!
is it allowed to change the order of your pitched card going back to your deck? at 27:05 you did it.
Yeah you can
