You want brown/yellow/amber color polarized glasses for bank fishing. They are meant for looking into the water from an angle. The blue/smoke/grey color you are using and selling are for boating. They are meant for looking down into the water from above.

Normally day ticket through a bailiff that covers the stretch, or yearly membership through the local fishing association. Day tickets are normally about £7, yearly membership varies. I know the MKAA in Milton Keynes only charges about £45 for the year for the Grand Union and it's lakes.

Canals don't close in general unless specified by whoever manages the waterways., it's just the rivers that close.
