A training trick... whenever you feed them, say "come", every time. You will be amazed at how quickly they pick that up. Very useful command.
I'll have to remember that. My border collie would only "come" when the instructor said it, but he did well on other commands.

Time to start keeping water out for them too ( I'm sure you know that though), we use the low black rubber grain dishes for pups. THEY ARE SO CUTE! 😍
If your feeding them now dont forget to put down clean fresh water for the puppies too ,they are gorgeous 😊❤

Thank you for sharing the pups first solid dinner. That was so fun to watch. Don’t forget, once they’re on solid food, they also need fresh water daily. You guys have really done a great job with your first litter. If you haven’t wormed them yet, it’s time for that too. And could you please bottle up some puppy breath for me and pop it in the mail? Usually worming is around six weeks.
FYI about your Emu's. She will hide her eggs anywhere and not always in the same place. They're a very pretty emerald green. Start hunting. Under sticks, leaves, hay. Like an Easter egg hunt.
Those puppies were hungry! Maybe Kora would eat her food with the puppies in the barn as they eat theirs. Those puppies are cute.❤

Sorry for all the suggestions. Grandma just can't help it. I have questions about your other animals too, but not now. Lol it's 4:00 am and I have to watch your videos and get some sleep. I watch them days and nights trying to get caught up. And I love your honesty about things that happen in your daily lives. Your so much like family to me I live through your days. It makes me happy just to watch you daily.

So funny! Try prepping the puppy dishes before you go in and then you're able to set them down and make sure each puppy is getting their's.
My only suggestions are to have their dishes prepared and block off the door with a board to discourage other animals entrance. But, I wonder if you fed Cora in the pen with th pups, and set it up higher so pups can't reach her food.
Don’t be surprised if she stops cleaning up the poop. Once introduced to food they usually stop. 😂
She will be showing them to poop outside of the bedding area soon. They catch on very quick. Kevin, you guys are doing an amazing job with the dogs! 😊

These longer days of sunlight sure have made our chickens start laying again big time! We’ve started giving the dogs poached eggs with lunch along with kibble. We’re not giving free eggs to our friends again until we are up to at least a dozen a day. ❤

The puppies were little chow hounds. They really seem to like the puppy food and goat milk. Cora is such a good Mom. ❤

Now that you are feeding them make sure they have water as well it helps the digestive system
You will be surprised 😢how much they'll eat daily. A lot of growing going on there. If Cora was doing a lot of cleanup you can expect that she will slowly allow you to take over now they are eating food. You may decide to keep rwith lid in their area so pickup and disposal is easier for you. Good luck. The reall work begins now

I know this video was prob made a week ago but try not to let them gorge themselves. It could cause upset tummies, vomiting and diahrea. If they get diahrea they could become dehydrated. Its best, in my opinion, to work your way up to more food. They are so darn cute! I cant wait to see which one you guys decided to keep. If you are going to 😊

I can’t believe how fast they have grown. Kevin you have done an AMAZING job caring for Kora since the moment you found out she was pregnant. And the babies as well (obviously)! They are so adorable! They were absolutely ready for starting on food, no time was wasted at all and no teaching was required either 😂 they all dove right in!
Those little buggers can eat and seemed to love their puppy food. And I'm sure Kora could use a break by now from nursing so often.

How sweet listening to the puppies slurping up their food. It's normal for Kora to eat with them, she teaches manners. Hey Kevin, I would back off to about half that amout of chow to feed for 3 or 4 days. Then, if they're having normal BMs, you can increase a little more chow. That's new to their little tummies, and too much at one time will upset their little digestive system. Now it's important to make sure they have access to fresh water to drink since on solid food as Kora will begin her weaning process. I hope you all keep one of the puppies!!! They're beautiful!
You may want to put that plywood over the door way way the puppy are eating so Kora can't get in and eat the puppy's food then as soon as the puppy's are done eating you can take the plywood down so Koda can get back in to her puppy's

They have great parents to guide them. I have a friend and her Mom, that both have litters of Huskies that are within days and then 2wks of your pups. I watch ALOT of videos! Your’s growl and their’s howl. ❤

I would have LOVED those puppy pans when. I was raising fur babies. Back I. The *day" (may be a Southern thing, I know A LOT of people that still do it) we soaked our puppy food in pie pans, and mushed it up with a fork or mixed it in a blender at the very beginning and fed them from pie pans. Oh my gracious Day, you want to talk about a mess. They stood in it and eventually at least 1 or 2 would get lazy and lay in it and eat.. we put news papers down to feed on, it did t matter... still made a mess. Took Momma and me to clean them little boogers!

Kevin when you try to get Kora away from the puppy food hold on She had to test it to make sure it was okay for her puppies. As soon as she takes it and it was mother approved for her puppies she let them feed on their own.😊❤❤
Make sure there is no MONENSIN in that goat food replacer. It kills dogs... ! Someone quickly ask him as he won't see my comment!!!
Oh yes they will be sticky like GLUE. You have to wipe them off when their done.

These puppies are so cute. Not sure if I have ever witness dogs this early in their development. Never a dull moment.
One thing about puppies, they don't stop eating, so you might want to watch them eat so you can measure the amount for them. They don't have a shut off valve when beginning to eat solid food.
There is always the first one that gets over the enclosure; then others will follow! Kora will start weaning them now!

Now have to figure out how to poop. They were used to Cora cleaned the hiney to encourage pooping.
Mom will make sure they can go potty before sh turns them over to her humans. She will still do some nursing here and there.
