Those boys are learning so many things. Most of us would never have had the opportunity to learn this stuff and they are very lucky to have a patient teacher showing the way.

It doesn't have to be a stage, maybe that's just his personality. I've always been a quiet person, people would try to tell me I'd grow out of it. There was nothing to grow out of, nothing wrong with being quiet.

It's not just about getting sunlight into the ground. It's about recycling nutrients that have been locked up in the leaves, twigs and branches. Nutrients like calcium, magnesium and potassium more available for plants. It also keeps your land from having a more serious wild fire because you're removing stored up fuel off the ground.
I agree with your explanation, but I think at the boy's age, Danial gave a good reason to Jacobi.

Thank you Houston for having Jacobi with you again. I miss seeing that bud of yours. Jacobi & Houston must have done a good job. The chickens sure like that burned off spot. Great dust bath for any mites or lice. Earl likes to help too obviously. Now if you get some healing rain, it will look so good when green up happens. Having the boys help is a wonderful teaching time.
As a single Mom of a teenage daughter & a elementary age son watching these videos i wish my son had a father like you are Daniel! Unfortunately my sons father is no father at that i wish my son could experience a day in the life of houston or Jacobi they are truly amazing young fellas

Watching the fire and listening to the crackling is so mesmerising and relaxing. I find myself staring at campfires and nice warm fires at home in my fireplace. 😊
I love to sit and watch a nice camp fire, or just a fire in the backyard fire pit. There is just something so calming and peaceful about it.
I like the cracking sounds too. I have an artificial fireplace there is a color wheel that makes it look like the logs are burning and makes a cracking noise.I had a cat that wood lay in front of it to sleep,it doesn't put out heat but it does have that mesmerizing feel .

It's so good to see someone who knows property management. I have seen so much mismanagement in NM, and CO that I now live between my properties in OK and MO. There is such wildfires destruction all because no one does this in so many western states.
I think the boys enjoyed helping with the burn. Danial you are hands on teaching these youngsters a valuable life lesson! This just warms my heart ♥️

Another good learning experience for the boys. They were able to see how fire is used for a specific purpose,under safe conditions, in deer to help man. They also saw how important it was to use the necessary equipment when doing a prescribed burn. I thought Jemma and Earl were distractions and Daniel had two “extras” to watch over. Thanks for sharing this video Daniel.

What a good job teaching the boys how to properly take care of the land. They will remember what they were taught and they will be able to teach others how to hunt,fish, raise animals and take care of the land.

I have a degree in Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife Management and it’s great to see you explain to people how fire can be a management tool. Hopefully some don’t just go set their woods on fire without understanding moisture content, wind speed and humidity play a role in the process.
Even if I had property I wouldn't dare do this.
Or at least not without proper supervision anyway.

I see two boys who are growing into responsible young men. It is a delight to share in their lives! For me, it's similar to watching my nephews grow up. I pray they will dedicate themselves to the Lord and be Godly examples to other people as the grow and mature.

I know Jacobi is Houston’s friend but I think it is so awesome how you let him come along. You take the time to teach him just like you do your own kids and that is special. More and more these days our young men need positive male role models in their lives. It’s not even the teaching part necessarily. It’s just being around the positive influence that helps them to become positive role models for the next generation of young men. I know the young ladies out there need their fathers and positive male influences too but the number of young men out there growing up without their fathers is staggering. Growing up without it does more harm to them than it does good. I know that someone is going to say something about mothers too. Well I just want to say that young ladies and men need their mothers just as much as they need their fathers and mothers make a huge impact in their lives. The problem is though to many are growing up in one parent homes and it is usually with their mothers. So in closing I am just grateful that we have positive role models out there like you Daniel. I know you may not think about it to much but you seem to do an amazing job based on what we get to see here on video.

PSS. I don’t know Jacobi’s home life and the part about growing up in a one parent home was not meant to be about him. It was just a general statement about kids these days across America 🇺🇸.

I always taught my son how to take a Rake and a jug of water to do a control on our small piece of land. Rake it then shake it NEXT .. Rake it and Shake it Next Water.
