I think you should at least keep one or two maybe two so that way your animals have more protection because your animals are so spread out not all three livestock guardian dogs can cover all that area so if you kept two of her puppies, you’d have five livestock guardian dogs, and hopefully be able to protect all your animals

Excellent idea! They can be taught by the 3 adults and when they are old enough to be by themselves with the livestock, you will have amazing LGD’s
@@janetvanvoorst9680 that’s the whole reason why I suggested it mainly because their animals are so spread out and with three livestock guardian dog right now that area can’t be easily covered so if they keep two of Kora’s puppies, then that’ll equals five livestock guardian dogs and way more protection for their animals
Litter mate syndrome is a real thing with LGD’s. Once they pass puberty the fights can be horrible. Non related dogs are much better.

The Puppies 🐶 are sleeping on their backs because it help expell heat thru their tummies. It's how dogs that are hot regulate their heat. The puppies are just so very adorable. Kora is being a great momma. Rachel and yourself are doing a wonderful job as first time puppy 🐶 parents. So exciting to watch them grow.
Since it's Cora's first litter, I would at least keep one minimum probably two would be great. Then they can grow up together.

Yeh but then they’d have to neuter the puppies so Leishke won’t fight them when they hit breeding age.
I could see keeping 1 for Mojo to train. Fixed, of course, to prevent issues.

Rachel - those collars aren't too loose; the way those pups are growing it won't be but a week until you have to loosen them, trust me!

Well, around here, the coyotes do kill emus and mini donkeys. You need full sized donkeys or llamas (not alpacas).
Such beautiful, healthy babies. My favorite is the tan boy with yellow collar, i think was #3. If i didn't have so many dogs already, id take any of them in a heartbeat. You just have to keep at least 1, but, maybe 2...❤
Also, since Cora keeps digging, why not take those 2 sides off the box, rake that straw off, and rake down good on the dirt. She will probably move the pups over there then.
She is not looking for the dead pup. They dont really think about that. Shes wanting more room, coolness, and a place thats easier to keep clean

The puppies are all so cute and Cora seems to be a wonderful mom doing all the things a mom should do. For 12 days I think 3# + is great, obviously her milk is nourishing to them. Good job everybody! Can’t wait to see Dad play with them. I just found this channel when she was giving birth. I live in Broken Arrow wondering how far you are from there.

What a beautiful bunch of babies! I wish l were decades younger to raise yet another puppy. I have raised six German Shepards and enjoyed every minute of that lovely time. God bless you all.

Cora is a beautiful mama. That last little girl was so pretty. I think you should keep her. I’d love to see what she looks like when grown. 😊I also think she will look a lot like Cora, colour and sweet face.The litttle boy in the yellow ribbon would make a great playmate and similar colouring.

Rachel, one of the absolute best smells in the world is puppy breath, dontcha think? I love it!!
Your going to want to add another board to the bottom of the gate, because once the puppies get mobile they will be very mobile. You don't want escapees getting into places they shouldn't be. You can always remove a middle board to keep enough of an opening for mom to come and go.

23:35 - I also follow a few kitten rescues, and at one rescue they had an orange kitten named Groot who *_LOVED_* to sleep on his back, in all sorts of twisted positions -- think of it as "interpretive sleep dancing" with all the variations. The rescue has a live chat, and someone started referring to this as #Grooting -- so that's what these puppies are doing, they're "grooting"
I hate to tell ya, but you didn’t zero out the scale on several of the pups. Rachel, you are right. The collars are too loose. Another pup could get their paw caught in one and choke the other pup. Please just leave loose enough to put a finger under it. Just check every few days since they are growing so fast. Too loose can be just as dangerous as too tight. It just concerns me. I’ve seen so many sad situations that could be avoided. ❤️
When we had lactating mom's we would give yogurt good for their gut, we would also give them puppy formula, both have calcium in it, if you are feeding her puppy food, I am pretty sure it is higher in calcium, they are adorable, you are doing a great job,

They are all uniform in size, one a little smaller which is normal. Actually uniformity in size is what you look for. This being for meds, I agree back to the drawing board.
@mmaloneym - I am no expert, but I heard about the 'one finger collar sizing procedure' too just exactly how you mentioned, back east in Pennsylvania while visiting my Aunt & Uncles farm. Their neighbors had two breeds of puppies & we went there to visit my relatives. Next thing my Papap & I know, my Gaga had her eyes set on one of the cutest puppies & my Papap couldn't resist buying her a new companion. She always loved taking walks in W.VA with her dog but she didnt have one for years! So my Papap figured she wouldn't get lonely when he was working second shift part-time job as the head janitor in a huge new in-door high school. She named her new puppy "Poo-Poo" bc she was the prettiest color of light & dark brown. 😂 She was a darling little brown curly tea cup poodle. The owners of the puppies really knew a lot about puppies so that is where I heard about collars being too loose! It's basically 'common sense' plus you don't want to take any chances! I think you & beautiful Rachel are doing a terrific job taking care of all those animals! Has your children seen them - or - will that make Miss Cora nervous? I'm guessing it may, so your probably playing it safe! I love CUTE ornry Skeeter sosx much! We had a Schnauzer named Smokey & bought him years ago at a Puppy Store in a big Mall in Brea, CA. Our youngest son found him. We have 4 grown up sons. He was born in a puppy mill in St. Louis, MO! My husband & I tried & tried to find a Schnauzer in the newspaper, but didn't have any luck. He was the last Schnauzer & nobody was buying him & it was love at first sight both ways! He was 3 months old when we bought him for a whopping $800. That was a lot of money at the time (in 1994) but Smokey was the best dog ever. They are a very intelligent breed & he had his ears already clipped so at least we didn't have to pay for that. I'm not so sure I'd have his ears clipped bc they look adorable either way. Prior to Smokey, we had a Schnauzer that was all black & his ears were not clipped. His name was Sparky. We got him for free bc the owner was a Orthopedic Surgeon & he was retiring to Florida, taking only 1 of his 2 Schnauzers. So since he knew his nurse always loved Sparky, he asked her if she wanted him. She jumped at the chance. After 2 months, she couldn't keep him bc her apartment was not working out. Since she was my brothers best friends gf, my brother asked me if we wanted him. So I got blessed & had the most sweetest dog ever! That's when I discovered my love for Schnauzers! Sorry for the long story! So good ol' Skeeter reminds me of my Schnauzers. Love how he runs so fast like a Jack Rabbit (he has a cute Bunny Butt/Peter Cotton Tail run!.. lol, that's what I call it bc our Schnauzers ran so fast too. So amazing how fast he runs) And...Kevin, I love how you do impressions of Leiske doing his concerned DOGGY Daddy's voice! You are hilarious Kevin! 😂 😊 Love & Prayers to you & your family! My first birth was my cats 6 kittens, it was the best day of my life,and then dogs ,goats , pigs,calfs,ducks chickens, squirrels ,yes I'm a 73 yr old farm girl. This video was great.

Y’all did right by letting them be with Cora with minimal interference. New moms need time to figure things out and let instinct take over. It’s how we have done it with our dogs. I’m not going to blast ya for anything. Yall are great parents. Pups are easy and Cora is a great mom. ✝️🙏🏼❤️

Kevin your vet is the best person to get all the information you need. So many people will have different ways of doing things. The puppies are doing well so is mum. Maybe keep a couple if Mojo is semi retired will need a full time guard dog.

ONCE THE PUPS OPEN THEIR EYES, THEY WILL BE WONDERING ALL OVER. YOU'LL HAVE TO BE CAREEFULL THEY DON'T WONDER OUT WITH THE GOATS AND GET STOMPED ON.
Eyes then a week or two later the ears open and then they'll be more vocal and moving everywhere. That's really when Ms. Cora and the family will really be busy trying to contain them and keep their area clean and tidy. Puppies start to become very messy and stinky at that age!!!! 🤢
Maybe use the top off of the dog house to cover the opening while you are in there to keep the goats out??❤❤

What great puppies one thing if they lay on their back and you can hold them and they lay comfortably on their back they will be calmer dogs than those that don't like to be on their back

It’s been wonderful watching the baby puppies and you two have done a wonderful job making sure that mama is got everything she needed and now looking after the puppies with her. You don’t often get weights on animals that are so close and weights as this nine puppies are And I think that’s just an indication of how well you said Cora and looked after her during the pregnancy but also the delivery and making sure that everything was secure and stable as possible for her. You guys have done an excellent job for being your first time puppy breeders Rachel you better pick your puppy because after this video people are gonna want those babies Theyare just as cute as they could be!
