Love your shanty arrangement style, really adds the flow of a full song to the shanties without detracting from their roots.

@Sean Dagher I realize I'm 6 months late to this, but I needed to mention, when I was much younger, I was a vocalist, much through Junior High, High School, and Uni, until I burned out, but so much of my life was around choral music which just happened to include a lot of Sea Shanties. And at every concert I participated in, my mother always came to watch. Now that I'm, in my 40's, and mom is in her 70's, and I do twitch streaming, largely as a way to entertain my mother in her old age. A game I revisit very often is Assassin's Creed 4, specifically because of the Shanties that I end up singing along with as I play. I have you to thank for seeing many smiles on my mother's face.
That's great to hear. In these covid days the Shanty of the Week was one of the only ways I could communicate with my own mother, so I understand completely.
As a baritone (lower tenor also plus upper bass) I struggle a little with my harmonising, I've found getting comfortable with your own voice and range works well as you can still have harmony and octave or so apart :)

Thanks Nathan. A lot of these start out sounding goofy. I really have to put them through the coolifyer before I feel comfortable singing them. But then, and this part always surprises me, they just end up sounding like good songs that I like. The challenge is to not just put on a rock voice and sound like a bad cover band.

I think I have an Instagram account but I don't use it. I use Twitter just to re-post RUclips videos. The songs from the Shanty of the Week are being added to seandagher.bandcamp.com as they are released. Bandcamp is actually the fairest way for musicians to disseminate their music online.

@@SeanDagher We have a group of 7 here in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia called "The Tap Room Growlers" that started up a few years ago singing sea shanties. We're having a lot of fun and we get a good reception at our performances. I really love your versions of a lot of these sea shanties! Thanks for taking the time to post them Sean!
