You can finish the boss fight quickly also if you didn't kill anyone except the actual bosses. You'll only has to get past them, then it's over
Have to reach the sorrow at the end of the river to obtain his camo.
You can beat the bosses with the tranq gun and you walk only for 10 seconds because you didn't kill anyone

Always like in mgs games how you can beat bosses in multiple ways
The only downside is you don't unlock the Sorrow's Silent Footsteps camo unless you reach the end without dying.
Just avoid killing every living soldier to reach him quickly in his place
Killing The End by simply waiting him out is the most hilarious to me LMAO. You come back to a save like 2 weeks later and he just dies of old age 😂 Got em.
Still one heck of a boss fight, took a fee battles to figure it out

Keep in mind, by not doing this fight “legitimately” you cannot receive The Sorrows camo.
Which imo is absolutely broken when paired with the stealth camo, as you cannot be seen and no foot steps can be heard.

I got mine, and i fell in love all over again.😊
You can have the handkerchief equipped, wave it three times, fall asleep, and then drown and revive yourself.
But if I do that I won't be able to laugh at all the ghosts limping around with bleeding PPs and screaming "I'm useless now!"
I can never remember what to do when I get here. Sometimes I end up dying for real. I have to look it up every time.

It took me the longest time to figure out this boss fight for the first time, absolutely love the Metal Gear series. Half way through MG4 just now

Sorrow Camo gives you silent footsteps which makes CQC’ing Enemies a lot more fun and easier. Also it acts as a Black Camo, and you get it when it’s getting dark out so it makes it pretty effective sneaking around Groznyj Grad.
The Sneaking Suit also silents your footsteps, but you can’t get that until a little bit later in the game.

I figured this out by accident and was the first way I beat the sorrow. I just died to him and because I used the revival pill in the jail cell I pressed left trigger to see what would happen lmao
I need a "speedrun" for The Fury, actually. I always die for him (playing non-lethally)
I always shoot him with the revolver bullets deflecting off the wall
@@dogestranding5047 yeah, in lethal runs that, the shotgun and the patriot are really good. But whenever I try to go non-lethal, just draining his stamina, I die a lot and the fight drags on forever
Throw poisoned or rotten food on the ground when his stamina is low and he will eat it
@@RincewindTheWizzard I don't think that works for The Fury... but The Fear seems simple enough
Use the Mk. 22 and stay behind him as much as possible. You can use CQC but it's risky. Do NOT use the Mosin, its fire rate is way too slow.
Or not kill anybody and have a nice walk

Did you know that it doesn't matter how long you beat the sorrow as it doesn't add in the Ingame timer for the ranking system.
Now I can soak this boss fight in every play through.

Honestly I don’t know how I knew this, I just did somehow and I played this game around release date, with no clue what the internet even was lol

If i remember correctly (last time i played was 10+ years ago) you can do that easier and faster if you use the dying pill

The Sorrow's uniform is a must for some silent footsteps infiltration. I use the Sorrow's uniform and the EZ gun and I don't have to worry about footsteps or my camo index.

Everyone uses the fucking revival pill. The one thing you only get one fucking pill in the whole game.
It took me and my brother forever to figure it out when we were young lol
the sorrow is the scariest boss in the franchise.
Fun fact: if you finish the boss fight normally, you get to have the sorrow's camo, to get it however after you wake up, go to the waterfall where your suppose to meet EVA then swim below it and you'll see the camo.
2nd Fun Fact: If you kill a soldier during the mountain part and let a vulture nibble on him for a bit then kill the vulture and eat it, there's a chance that one of the soldiers during the sorrow boss fight will say "YOU ATE ME!", it happened on my lethal playthrough.
Doesnt it automatically enter youre inventory when eva gives you your stuff back after beating the sorrow, you dont have to actually pick it up.

It didn't for me, I had to pick it up under then waterfall.
I had to beat Sorrow again when I was at the end of the river. It took second try for me to understand that I have to take revival pill.
I was so confused how to beat him the first time!

The fake suicide pill trick. And force drown Snake and then use the pill to wake him up.

If I were Kojima, it would be canon that Naked Snake got so frustratingly bored fighting The Sorrow that he killed himself, waited for The Sorrow to leave, and then revived himself. I might even have Eva tell Solid Snake about it in MGS4, using the same tone she used when talking about how Ocelot idolized Naked Snake.
Eva: Your father got SO bored.......that he killed himself during his fight...with The Sorrow. Here's an apple or some shit, I give them to everyone 🍎
God I remember not knowing how to get past this part. Literally didn't play for a month and then randomly clicked the trigger and saw the revival pill. Never used it before lol

i never did this legit i always drowned myself except for when i was a kid before i figured you can make snake drink ghost river juice until his lungs fill
or don't kill anyone up until that battle.

Literally learned this as a kid, kept losing and losing, but noticed that when he hit me in to the water and I was under it. He wouldn’t hit me so I stayed under accidentally drowned myself and used the revive pill beat the mission and turned off the game immediately I was pissed like how are you supposed to know that.
Im more shocked the sorrow killed you this boss fight isnt really hard even if you killed a bounch of soldiers
Bro idk either, I was a kid playing on the ps2 but I’ll never forget that when I finally beat it by a stroke of luck. I turned off the game and called it a day.

Had to figure out how to beat him after many tries there was no RUclips to get tips from in 2005
I thought this was the right way to do it?
I found crazy that even if you spare The End s 🦜 it can be seen in his world as a spirit specially if you captured alive and see him before entering the waterfall close to Grozny Grand lol
