Would have been helpful to know about 10 years ago
The real quickest way to beat him is to put everyone including the bosses to sleep. In other words no killing anyone in the game until you get past sorrow.
Even if you do put the bosses to sleep, the Sorrow fight still has them show up as being killed by Snake/Big Boss as each one of them explode at the end of their battle with him.
Thats actually really unique and pretty fast, nice!

Even if you don’t kill the bosses, they still show up in this section as they explode at the end of the boss fight. So if you don’t kill ANYONE, four bosses up to this point (The Fear, The End, The Fury, and The Pain) still show up, giving this sequence about two and a half to three minutes at its quickest. This method shortens that to a minute.
