It was the best tennis experience I’ve lived in my life!, I was fortunate enough to be really close to the court, the atmosphere was amazing, but above all, the match that young Rafa played was just amazing, who would guess back then that that kid would become one of the, or “The”, best players in the history of tennis.

Andy is so nice to applaud his young opponent when he is #2 and such a great clay court player. I like his quick serve, one of the fastest.
After all these discussions of who is the GOAT, probably on basis of stats, it will exclude all these wonderful fighters in tennis, who may or may not get the grand slam success. Can’t forget those!👏👏

Shows the progress Rafa made and the difference playing surfaces made. Roddick wiped the floor with Rafa at the US Open mere months before. He commented years later that he couldn't believe how different it was playing Rafa on clay. Kudos to both players for a superb match.

I actually predicted Nadal would win the FO in 2005 even before ever seeing him play. I was just reading his results in the paper week after week, and had a feeling he wouldn't be denied.

While they were never buddies like Rafa and Roger were, I always liked to think there was a very real likeable respect between these two after their first two matches here and at the US Open. They both seemed keenly aware of how dangerous the other could be, and as Rafa would progress I like to think he never forgot that with Andy.

No one is like king 👑 💯🇪🇸 no one! He is the greatest one! 💯✅💯✅💯✅

That is in a sense just not right. How Rafa makes sure he doesn’t overhit, even when he was young. Hitting it with enough spin and pace to make a very aggressive yet safe shot. Most players at that age wouldn’t have the maturity to play as smart as he did. Then again, he did have people in his camp who keep him grounded. Still, the way he played back then was also cruel, as he just won’t donate as many points as easily as many players would his age. To have the patience and intensity to keep playing like that, he was taught well. Not going to say extraordinary, because I definitely see his point about being normal.
Anyone arguing otherwise simply don’t understand that labeling someone as extraordinary don’t realize that that can simply be an excuse to not work hard, dedicate and such. He has doubts, pain and such, just like the rest of us. The choices he makes, how he chooses to deal, is something we can all do.

Yes, Andy was an amazing player and even best sportsman. This vid only shows all Andy's reactions, not the Rafa ones. However, you can watch a beauty gesture from Rafa here: 8:54
Andy was a well established player on the circuit at that time, instead Rafa was a stranger. He immediately realized about Rafa's future which is why he applauded him many times.

    Roddick won my respect
The way he appreciating someone's good shots shows the character of sportsman. I've never seen Rafa appreciating anyone. As if he thinks, only he has got good shots. While in this video, Roddick too had delivered very good skill.
