@@marcthompson3665 Yeah, a pretty good score line... for Rafa. Roddick was the absolute favorite. #2 in the world and at his absolute best, against a 18 years old kid OUTSIDE THE TOP 50 like Nadal. In fact, in Spain eveyrone got surprised they chose Nadal instead of Juan Carlos Ferrero to face Roddick. Ferrero was the hero of the DC 2000 for Spain and the recent champion of Roland-Garros 2003.

Immeasurable. There will be a hole the size of him. His shadow over RG is something else. He wouldn’t like that. He believes no one is bigger than a tournament or tennis.
But man he is a legend x king x giant x gladiator all rolled into one.
The impact of the man! Crazy
Tennis pundits have been belittling him for years as someone who will retire and all will be the same, but it won’t really.
We’ll feel his absence the more time he is away. The std that these players will have to meet is very high
Mats Wilander says : we were waiting and expecting his retirement
      Wilander is shhhtt.
It’s like he is mocking and laughing at our pain. Our lives won’t be the same anymore and that’s something he looks forward to
I can’t deal with these incompetent pundits. Barabara Schett was just as lame.
Disgusting bunch, they can’t read the room. If they don’t care fine but don’t talk rubbish on our heads
Lazy people who don’t even prepare for their job. They don’t provide any useful info when commentating, they are fans of the players.

17 year old Rafa beat the #1 player, 22 year old Roger Federer, at the Miami tournament earlier in 2004 (6-3, 6-3 on a hard court) when Roger was by far the best player in the world. Roger played in 17 tournaments in 2004 - making 11 finals and winning all 11 of them. Federer lost just 6 matches in all of 2004. But Nadal had already announced his great potential in 2003 when he beat world #7 Albert Costa and world #4 Carlos Moya when Rafa was just 16 years old.

Even with all of Nadal's numerous injuries... Rafa still has the best Grand Slam event winning percentage of the big three.
Rafa played in 68 GS tournaments - and won 22 (.324 event W%).
Novak has played in 76 GS tournaments - and won 24 (.316 event W%).
Roger played in 81 GS tournaments - and won 20 (.247 event W%).
Rafa also has a much better head to head record vs. Roger and Novak at the Grand Slams.
      Rafa was 11-7 vs. Novak (.611 W%)
      Rafa was 10-4 vs. Roger (.714 W%)
      Novak was 11-6 vs. Roger (.647 W%)
      Rafa 21-11 vs Novak & Roger (.656 W%)
      Novak 18-17 vs. Rafa & Roger (.514 W%)
      Roger 10-21 vs. Rafa & Novak (.323 W%).
Nadal is the best Grand Slam player of the three.
And somehow... amazingly, Nadal has this much better record despite the fact that 3 of the 4 GS are played on surfaces that favor Novak and Roger.
