I love how one the most ICONIC minds in the Marvel universe asks to see someone he's nearly killed several times and the Avengers are like: "Eh it'll be fine!"
I can understand why because he was asking to see "Peter Parker" not "Spiderman," but I don't understand why the room wasn't monitored nor did any of the avengers keep watch, or anything in between and/or outside the two.
I loved this comic series because it shows that, even if you’re the smartest person alive, you have to escape your own arrogance to be a hero; someone who is too insecure/prideful to critique themselves will never progress as much as one who is able to overcome their flaws. However, dwelling on your flaws will lead to a similar outcome as neglecting their existence.
When doc gave Peter his bodying back I feel it was at moment doc oc truly knew what it meant to be Spider-Man. Granted I wanted to see more of him. I love when he straight decked black car for trying to flirt with him 😂
Doc Oct becoming one of my favourite Anti-Villian of all time, is because of Superior Spider-Man. The balls that Dan Slott had to do this with The Amazing Spider-Man Series, is something I really do respect. It didn't last long, but it was a hell of a ride.
I loved this because you had a Spiderman with COMMON SENSE. Dude had a life because he wasn't putting a relationship on hold to chase a purse snatcher.
The transformation scene was rather wholesome in a weird way, in a matter of moments, Otto went from cackling about his great victory to begging Peter for advice on how to be Spider-Man mentally, not physically, not socially.
This was a compelling series. I remember reading it. I have every issue. While I was ready to see Peter back, I did enjoy a few things Otto brought to the table
It was 10 years ago. Time flies but that really is the best version of Spidey. Not cause of Doc Ock per say, but due to the fact he bit way more than he could chew and will have to actually become a superior version of himself if he ever is to become the hero he claims he will be. In the end, he does. Twice, but not without losing everything and having to admit Peter was his better while at it.
I was a little dissapointed that they didnt give otto more time in the oven. I allways knew thy were going back to the status quo, but It felt kinda rushed at the time and I really enjoyed spock going around and experiencing the world
Yeah, it's nice to see him get away from his Science station, and take a run down a San Francisco sidewalk. He's too cooped up on that Bridge, most times. (However--- what's that got to do with Doc Ock?) 😉
I really loved this version as well, kinda sad how nearing the end of his turn at the mantle he was more angry than genius, probably intentional from the writer's part so they have an excuse to bring back peter parker.
I was absolutely mortified until the end and now I’m so happy I want to cry spider man is my super hero it couldn’t end this way and I’m glad it didn’t
It was literally meant to be confusing it’s literally the idea, it was only a true twist because it didnt show it and also leaves you as confused as peter as he has to work out how otto pulled off the magic trick of which like all illusions arent as great when you know how they are done before hand

Making this madmen walk in his shoes and not change immediatly but gradually and only realize his mistake in the end: That was truly amazing. Thank you for bringing this story arc to a video format!
Certainly appreciated the extra tech to help with getting stuff done. I know bringing peter back was meant to happen but it was such a fresh change of pace to have Otto be in the shoes of spider-man, would've loved to see him develop enough to best Goblin tho

When the Amazing Spiderman (I've read them all) ended and the Superior Spiderman started, I remember hating it with a passion. I also remember this quote from Stan Lee: "Dan Slott what a gift, some guys give a nice cigar, but no not you, I get a dead Peter Parker. Thanks for the bday wishes my friend!". Now, years later and Peter Parker back at the helm, I must say that it was a captivating storyline.
So technically, Peter did die, and Doc Oct lived, but he just have amnesia of his life as Oct. Kinda pointless than, because the real Peter still died, it's just that this Peter has the original body with Oct sealed away.
Not going to lie, for a moment. I thought he would become even better then Parker ever was. If only, he thought it had more time to plan for spider man's Emery's. He could of team up with them before he switched minds, that way. He would have a better understanding how they think. Being ready to fight against them when he switched body's with Parker. Then again, the bad guys never win in the end because they are to prideful in themselves. That's normally how the hero of the story wins in the end.
So the Peter Parker who regained his body was that actually Peter Parker? Or was that a mental copy that was left behind because original Peter parkers mind would have died inside docs body right or did peters ghost go back into his own body?
It was Peter. Otto dug him up trying to solve an equation he didn't have an answer for. Otto also died when he gave the body back but Spider-Verse 1 retconned it saying he uploaded his mind after learning of his future

That's kind of the thing though. When the switch happened, Otto was straight up villain, and also on his death bed at that. He WAS lesser than spidey, and didn't care about how this could be seen as justice or not, it was right for him and him alone and that's all his limited sight could see. After the body switch I do think he changes his view a bit, especially after the end. Later on when he comes back, he creates his own body instead of stealing Peter's again. Plus his whole deal was to prove that he could be better than Spider-Man when presented with the same life and powers he does. Kind of a "if I were you, I'd do things differently and better than you do by yourself" mindset.
