My favorite panel will always be Norman realizing that Peter has his body back. "Only one person would dare insult me this way... SPIDER-MAAAAAAAAN!!!!"
Peter Parker and Norman Osborn has been at each others throats since the 1960's I mean both of them have had some of the legendary moments but at the top of the list is when Gwen Stacy died and Peter sworn vengeance on Green Goblin
The ending makes me feel bad for Anna Maria Marconi, because imagine having your heart broken by the same face that loved you with a different mind behind it. RIP Spider-Marconi.

The Amazing Spider Man can only battle Green Goblin I mean think about it he cracks more wisecracks that get under Green Goblins skin which makes him more annoying but the only one he needs to stop making wisecracks with is Mac Gargan Venom and Eddie Brock Venom since the Venom symbiote knows more about Peter Parker than any of his main villains

Dan Slott is just a good writer I mean if he can make this whole comic interesting with a former villain going on a road of redemption and making a better life for his rival and himself
Great rundown! - coming from another Kentuckian. Superior Spiderman serves to illuminate that the strength of spiderman is not just raw ability or intelligence, but the spirit and character of Peter Parker.
thanks for putting these full stories together in convenient formats for both episodic and binge viewership. most creators wouldn't think to cater to that kind of convenience especially when the videos already exist, despite that forcing binge viewers to constantly search out each individual subsection of these big massive stories
It’s a good break I mean Peter Parker we’ve seen since his creation the only breaks we ever got was in the 90’s with Ben Reilly and in the Ultimate universe Miles Morales this is a unique break having Otto take over the body of Peter Parker and going on a redemption road

Oh wow, this is perfect! Thank you for making this breakdown of the story! I Imagine as time goes forward all this will start being tied into the MCU movie universe as well. What a crazy time to be alive huh?
For sure the best comic channel, your never too serious and always add your flair, glad to see you actually enjoy making content and not voicing it over just for a check. This is what free use she be used as
This story really speaks to how Spider-Man has only allies and acquaintances at best amongst the entire Superhero landscape aside from the Spider-Fam and the various villains. Outside of Johnny Storm, Wolverine might be the closest to him outside of it. Which is crazy to consider.
The craziest part about it to me is out of everyone Logan has ever known, he invites the kid he admits gets on his nerves like few can to hang out on his birthday. After Peter stops him killing a guy, he explains why. 'Cause you didn't think I'd do it.'. Spider-Man and Flash are two of my favorites for way more than their abilities. It's cause whatever team they wind up a part of, they are without a doubt the heart.
Spiderman's spider-sense is OP as all hell. If you're fighting spiderman, you're not just fighting spiderman. You're fighting the spiderman from 10 seconds ago, because no matter what you do, spiderman is always 10 seconds ahead of you. And 10 seconds may not sound like a lot, until you realise that a simple dodge can throw off most attacks, and spiderman has 10 seconds to prepare for it. Sure, you can nuke him, but with his strength, i reckon he'd be able to dodge volleys of RPG fire.
That's only how Spider Assassin's sense worked, after Peter trained like hell to sharpen it into straight-up precog... but yeah. It was even called out as OP in-universe. A psychic Spider-man with 50cal sniper rounds in his shooters and 0 sense of humor.
Glad to hear someone else appreciate Spider-Man's Spider-sense. When people ask me which two heroes I would combine, I always say: Spider-Man & The Flash. Spider-sense gives an early warning, and his speed will allow him to solve the problem before it even is a problem. (Also: It gives the Flash part an advantage against other speedsters: When running up buildings he can stop halfway through and stick to the wall.)
This is a bit after the fact but I love the amount of emotion Rob puts into his presentation. Today, I raised a Whiskey to him and said "Good job, Rob. Don't stop."
I dropped out of comics quite a while ago, but throughout the years I always checked in on the superhero family I grew up with. So I knew about the whole Doc Ock superior Spider-Man situation but I didn't know any of the details as I hadn't taken the time to read in the comics ,I was out of the game so to speak. So I just want to thank you for putting this video together, it was amazing. Although I have no plans to become the collector and Avid Reader of comics That I Used to Be, .... Once a comic nerd, always a comic nerd.
Same boat. Pretty much stopped reading mainstream books except for a couple. I stayed aware of what was going on but wasn't interested in reading long arcs, but this makes me feel like I missed something good. Might have to buy the trade paperback when it comes out.
1:14:54 which is why they could also try explicitly attempting to lay the groundwork for a better future. It goes to a distopia because that person says the groundwork for it. So instead, theoretically one could do the opposite by paying the groundwork for the opposite.
this kinda reminds me of the film: " Being John Malkovich" in wich the protagonist while possesing malcovich (and/or others) is sometimes able to persuade their choices/actions a little (like a subconscious) and other times taking complete control of them.
I thought superior spider man was a great story arch. Thank you Rob the man for pulling together all of this into a one and done video explaining who he was and why he matters. Thank you. Batman Dark Knight metal: full story here I come. Bamf
1:20 - Superior Spider Man IS a better Spider Man than Parker because he uses common sense. Octavious wasn't getting out of bed at 3AM to stop a purse snatcher. He called the cops.
The writers could write Spiderman way better then then wrote superior Spiderman but the best part of Peter as Spiderman is the tragedy and the fact that he does everything the right way even when it costs him personally
The red and black is the original color scheme they were going for. It’s pretty much a similar story to the Hulk and the grey & green shift. Looks really cool. I originally wasn’t a fan of the red & blue so I find it funny that 25 years down the line I learn it wasn’t the original color scheme after it’s grown on me.
2:01:14 this is the first time I’m seeing someone ACTUALLY acknowledge the gravity of what Otto did. Carlie outright states that he stole someone’s life
That was another great video 👌. I would like to see how a superior Pete-Spidey would perform if it were to be brought to life on the big screen 🤩 Btw: awesome soundtrack (what's the name of the song starting at 11:30 ?)
This needs to be made by the Spider-Verse folks. They’d have to cut out quite a bit, but this would be an amazing story about understanding your differences.
Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but the memory erasure of Peter Parker may have been successful. The memories may have come back because of Superior Spider-Man bonding with the symbiote and implanting it's genetic memory of Peter back into his psyche.
I remember before this run came out we heard Pete was gonna get replaced and saw the suit and because of the lenses and claws I personally thought it was gonna turn out to be Miguel come back in time and taking on the Spider-Man classic mantle. Later on that literal exact thing happened where he comes back and is Spider-Man in the past for a minute, but it wasn't as Superior, obviously.
I remember buying each Superior Spider-Man issue weekly and reading it to the end and buying the ASM issue after that and that was when I kinda stopped buying and reading comics. This video was great because some of the side things that were happening were a bit confusing for me because I didn't read everything at the time
I've watched this all before but I love watching the full stories when I have some time. It's like a movie I've seem before on in the background. Got to the part where Anna Marie was making ice cream and you asked our favorite flavors. I got two: Orange Sherbet and Mint Chocolate Chip (separately and to mix them would be a sin against all life in existence...) so yeah, I like Mint Chip... fight me!
After watching the 2 hours this video went, that "My Turn" line was so awesome. I can't imagine seeing that on the actual page when that came out. The pay off is so satisfying.
Totally agreed that doc ock is a better Spider-Man than peter Parker, or at least more interesting to read. All these years Parker has been doing the same thing, working at the news, etc. He doesn't evolve or grow up. With one more day they even devolved his progression as a character, moving him into stagnation. Doc ock on the other hand constantly moves the character forward. Doing new things, trying to do thing smarter. Getting his phd, opening a new corporation, hiring henchmen, making new gadgets. That is interesting! It's what real people would do or aspired to: self improvement. I stop reading Spider-Man after the superior arc.
"All these years Parker has been doing the same thing, working at the news, etc. He doesn't evolve or grow up." Well that isn't true. He grew up, left the Bugle, worked for Tony Stark at Stark Industries, got married, yadda yadda ya.
Drawback, those few things took longer than a dragonball character trying to level up. Doc ock did twice as much in his short run over what Parker did in 10+ arcs.
Its not anything to do with Peter Parker ... Its Marvel who refuses to allow the character to grow and progress ... They seriously need to fire half their writers on their books and hire in some fresh young talent ...
I wouldn't go so far as to say I don't like anything after superior Spiderman, but I really wish it at least ended a bit differently. It Would be been so much better if Doc Ock had challenged Spiderman's way of being a superhero, saying he deserved to be Spiderman because he had done more good in terms of the big picture than Parker had ever done, or something to that extent. Yeah Peter had to come back as Spiderman, but they could've at least made it seem bitter sweet to have to give up the Superior Spiderman.
I love this stuff man...Thank you for doing these. I love reading the comics myself, but coming over here and listening to the whole story summarized helps a lot. Keep fighting the good fight brother and know what you do isn't lost on any of us...Thanx man!
Spider-Man would be the perfect baseball player batting he can anticipate whatever pitch is thrown, he can hit it into the parking lot every single time, he can alway take the right size lead on base and always knows if the pitcher will try to pick him off, in the field he can catch anything and knows exactly where the ball will be hit, if he’s pitching he will know the best pitch to throw and always be accurate
Damn...just damn...I think doc made the better Spiderman tbh but it's like you said it's fresh and new also I had this playing over alexa and my mom was listening and she was like "you know he talks alot and a bit fast but not too fast, but this whole time I haven't heard him say um" and I thought about it and she was right unless you are STUCK and I mean stuck you just flow probably because you have a script, gone over this a hundred or so times, or that you just know your stuff so well either way hats off to you man 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The whole point of this story arc is that no matter how hard Doc Ock tried. He was never the superior Spiderman and will never be a superior spiderman. That Peter Parker will always and has always been the better spiderman.
Exactly why rehabilitating villains is just better for the overall good. Invincible is a story about redemption, and it is really transformative in that
Shouldn’t this have started with that part where he took over and Peter “died” in doc’s body? That was a great scene and I was hoping to see it in this video

How to become intoxicated: Drink every time Rob says "Dan Slott."
How to die: take a shot every time he uneccisarily uses somebodys full name
Or everytime he says, "basically" and "essentially"
Dan Slott is just a good writer I mean if he can make this whole comic interesting with a former villain going on a road of redemption and making a better life for his rival and himself
I mean he said over a million times
Yes...one of the best arcs Ive ever reaaadddd
As good as the Clone Saga
I don't know how many years you've been doing this but your outro is still awkward as hell....AND I LOVE IT. DON"T EVER CHANGE!
Great rundown! - coming from another Kentuckian. Superior Spiderman serves to illuminate that the strength of spiderman is not just raw ability or intelligence, but the spirit and character of Peter Parker.
I may never truly be able to properly thank Rob for this channel and his endeavors to share his comics enthusiasm
The one thing in comics I would really like to see is Norman Osborne’s Green goblin meeting the Joker.
thanks for putting these full stories together in convenient formats for both episodic and binge viewership. most creators wouldn't think to cater to that kind of convenience especially when the videos already exist, despite that forcing binge viewers to constantly search out each individual subsection of these big massive stories
This is my favorite arc! I love the darker personality
Right? I don't get why some actually hate it. It's amazing... no pun intended.
It’s a good break I mean Peter Parker we’ve seen since his creation the only breaks we ever got was in the 90’s with Ben Reilly and in the Ultimate universe Miles Morales this is a unique break having Otto take over the body of Peter Parker and going on a redemption road
Marvel at times seems disjointed but what keeps me coming back is brilliant series like this that pull everything together.
Is that a freaking Minecraft shirt at 1:26:49? Never thought I'd see the day Minecraft was in a Marvel comic...
did you really watch this whole thing?
Kaliek no
Just wait until the marvel universe meets minecraft
36:40 a check mark for me to return to when I check this out.
They’re a lot of tidbits in Marvel let’s be honest Howard The Duck in Guardians Of The Galaxy and Marvel LEGO Super Heroes video game
"haha, like, yeah!" This dude is awesome.
"god willing, if Ubisoft fails" -1:14:17 lmao
H X yes!! Lol
So time hopping Wolvie triggered massive amounts of death. He's the best at what he does. Intentionally or otherwise.
I truly believe you may be, hands down, the best RUclipsr out there! The fact that I could sit through 3 to 11 hours of your videos simply blows my mind! On top of that, your likes to dislike ratio is also prob among the best I’ve seen. Keep up the awesome vids cause you’re doing a tremendous job at it. Wish I could afford your patreon cause I would be all over that.
Oh wow, this is perfect! Thank you for making this breakdown of the story! I Imagine as time goes forward all this will start being tied into the MCU movie universe as well. What a crazy time to be alive huh?
Idk... I can't see the MCU taking these kind of risks
As long is mcu spiderman is joke? No way mcu making movies for childs and teenagers and china lmao.
Maybe spiderman ps5.
Unless he's up against Quicksilver lol
Basically peter parker is a newtype
So give this guy a spider theme gundam
Too bad venom can counter that
That's only how Spider Assassin's sense worked, after Peter trained like hell to sharpen it into straight-up precog... but yeah. It was even called out as OP in-universe. A psychic Spider-man with 50cal sniper rounds in his shooters and 0 sense of humor.
It's like trying to fight dio from jojo's without powers
Shocker is a regular member of the villain team-up groups.
Broken Man
Thank you so much, Rob! Though I love many of the characters you routinely cover, Spidey is my all-time favorite. Please keep them coming.
8:00 Uncle Rob to Petter Parker "any woman you can pick up at a bar is not a woman you wanna take home."
Another weekend bender on your videos rob. Pack of smokes, my I pad and comics explained. 👍
You’re a beast. Awesome video. Didn’t expect to sit through 2hrs of this. Well explained. Ur awesome
I thought superior spider man was a great story arch. Thank you Rob the man for pulling together all of this into a one and done video explaining who he was and why he matters. Thank you. Batman Dark Knight metal: full story here I come. Bamf
This was just great, Thanks Rob!!
this needs to be a movie 👏👏👏
I agree
It is a tv show

1:20 - Superior Spider Man IS a better Spider Man than Parker because he uses common sense. Octavious wasn't getting out of bed at 3AM to stop a purse snatcher. He called the cops.
I always liked spider-man but superior Spider-Man made me love him.
Notification squad. Rob you're awesome love from the UK
A two hour vid? Hell ya!
I fell asleep on autoplay work up to this and i love it good job i like how in the middle you just start talking about icecream
Everytime you say "time and time again" I've been doing a shot of whiskey. It's noon. I just called into work for tomorrow.
The writers could write Spiderman way better then then wrote superior Spiderman but the best part of Peter as Spiderman is the tragedy and the fact that he does everything the right way even when it costs him personally
I came to this video after finishing spider man season 2 waiting for season 3 and i cried loud as hell when doc ock died
A true shame Superior Spidey meeting Black Cat and then decking her in the face wasn't included
2:01:14 this is the first time I’m seeing someone ACTUALLY acknowledge the gravity of what Otto did. Carlie outright states that he stole someone’s life
hahaha "God willing, UbiSoft fails..." Hilarious.
This is my favourite Spider-Man story ever
That was another great video 👌.
I would like to see how a superior Pete-Spidey would perform if it were to be brought to life on the big screen 🤩
Btw: awesome soundtrack (what's the name of the song starting at 11:30 ?)
This needs to be made by the Spider-Verse folks. They’d have to cut out quite a bit, but this would be an amazing story about understanding your differences.
The Bill O'Reilly joke at 59:22 had me giggling for a solid minute
Something that is interesting to me is at the time of this comics release even supervillains saw venom as something to be destroyed
He doesn't evolve or grow up."
Well that isn't true. He grew up, left the Bugle, worked for Tony Stark at Stark Industries, got married, yadda yadda ya.
Drawback, those few things took longer than a dragonball character trying to level up. Doc ock did twice as much in his short run over what Parker did in 10+ arcs.
*+Dexter Sue* Okay? So now you're agreeing with me. What you said, which I quoted, wasn't true.
“God willing, if Ubisoft fails somebody will take its place.” You over here preaching today.
i wish doc was just a anti hero in general
I love this stuff man...Thank you for doing these. I love reading the comics myself, but coming over here and listening to the whole story summarized helps a lot. Keep fighting the good fight brother and know what you do isn't lost on any of us...Thanx man!
Can you do the whole series for infamous iron man? That story was fantastic! ;)
John Paul B.T. fingers crossed!!
Superior Spider Man ROCKED ! One of my all time favorite Spidey stories !
8:05 my man rob out here spitting truth about picking up women from bars, don’t bring them home to mom and pop, atleast not the first night lol
thank you for this, never been much of a comic fan but i have anyways been intrigued by this story
What if Whole events happens in DC universe? Like Joker brain swaps with Batman.
Damn...just damn...I think doc made the better Spiderman tbh but it's like you said it's fresh and new also I had this playing over alexa and my mom was listening and she was like "you know he talks alot and a bit fast but not too fast, but this whole time I haven't heard him say um" and I thought about it and she was right unless you are STUCK and I mean stuck you just flow probably because you have a script, gone over this a hundred or so times, or that you just know your stuff so well either way hats off to you man 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
John Smith the heck did you say?
Drunk Nightelf I was talking about how I think doctor octopus was a better Spiderman and how well he talks
@@JohnSmith-iv5zy not really because otto admited that peter was a better spiderman.
The whole point of this story arc is that no matter how hard Doc Ock tried. He was never the superior Spiderman and will never be a superior spiderman. That Peter Parker will always and has always been the better spiderman.
well say, bro, well say🥰,I really like all the crazy character development otto had done, this is the reason why he is my favorite.
This is what Doc Oc could've been if life hadn't torn away his humanity.
A brilliant scientist. A caring person. A hero.
Exactly why rehabilitating villains is just better for the overall good.
Invincible is a story about redemption, and it is really transformative in that
I lived.
Kenny why you and not a the walking dead

these videos are such ASMR. You can play them while doing something else and its quite nice.
Shouldn’t this have started with that part where he took over and Peter “died” in doc’s body? That was a great scene and I was hoping to see it in this video
