I love how you had Trapped Under Ice at #2. Such a powerful and mesmerizing song, it’s almost scary how good it is. I personally would’ve had Fade to Black and Sanitarium inside my top 10, but I respect your opinion. Not sure why people are getting mad about another persons opinion. Really interesting and cool list.

Still in my Top 35 I’d say. There aren’t many bad Metallica songs. There’s gotta some song u complain about being so slow. For me, that was just ur life, through the never and atlas rise are also way too low.
Fade to Black imo is not overrated at all. Fans love it for its relatable lyrics because most people will experience those thoughts at some point in their lives and holy shit that solo. It’s beautiful, fast and melodic as hell. It’s my #1 Metallica song
It's actually pretty overrated, the band themselves and a huge part of the fandom give this song so much unworthy hype, it's truly not a good song but i can see why you like it, it has some really cool riffs and sections, i'll give them that, but ofc those are outliers in this song
Now, it might seem “basic” to have One as a favorite Metallica song, but I could not care less. I’ve listened to a lot of Metallica, and none of their songs can give me chills the same way the opening riff for One has. The chorus effect on the lead clean parts has no right to go so hard. And the distorted guitar tones are just fucking magnificent. The lyrics and the theme too drive this song to one of the best metal songs ever conceptualized, produced, written, created, and played. The genuine vitriol you can hear in James’ voice when he sings: “Hold my breath as I wish for death” and the lyrics toward the end of the song are just perfect. You can hear the perfect emulation of pain that most veterans experience when talking of their career. 11/10 just for the instrumentation and the soloes as well. It’s all been said before, but I’ll still say it again because GODDAMN is One fucking great.
I can't decide if Orion or One is my favorite. One was my introduction to Metallica. (I showed up late to the party), but that video inspired me to be a drummer. Then I got my hands on Master of Puppets. How can a song with no lyrics have so much impact? I simply can't decide.

This is my favorite metallica ranking video, because it's not your traditional list that one would expect. Definitely a lot of love to some of the songs that are rarely played live or on the radio. Was a good reminder to recheck out some songs that I haven't listened to in years, such as thorn within, God that failed, of wolf and man, fixxxer, and more. Even if I wouldn't place them as high as you did, gotta remember a lot of those are very solid songs that would be number one hits for other lesser bands, but metallica just sets the bar so high
I respect this list alot and although I don't agree with it 100% I love that he highlighted alot of the good post black album stuff and didn't put fade and one top 10 (or sandman for that matter). It was nice seeing stuff from hardwired, death magnetic and 72 seasons in the top 20. They deserve recognition. The post black album stuff isn't as good overall but still very solid and don't deserve to just be called crap and ignored. Lots of good material post black album.
I love what songs you put for the top two! Disposable Heroes is my favourite Metallica song and Trapped Under Ice is my favourite off of RTL! I totally agree that they should play The Struggle Within live more often. Struggle, Don’t Tread On Me, and Through The Never are my favourites off The Black Album. Same can be said for Eye Of The Beholder and Dyers Eve from AJFA.
Mad props for putting inamorata and Unforgiven 2 in the top 15. They are 2 of best and most emotional songs ever. You did fade to black, atlas rise, and mama said a bit dirty though
Yeah, they're so good. FTB just didn't hit me as hard as the other songs after listening to it like 10 times. I put Mama Said at the highest I could since I'm truly not into country. Atlas rise really felt bland to me for some reason just like the other songs on Hardwired
Wow, I did not expect to see a list like this. I really like that you appreciate Load. It is a great album and depending on the mood, it is one of their best (even having Poor Twisted Me and Ronnie, for me, two of the worst). I kind of agree of Disposable Heroes being the best, because it covers all things I love about Metallica. I will try to choose my 10 favorites here: The Call of Ktulu, Disposable Heroes, Battery, Blackened, Dyers Eve, My Friend of Misery (it grew on me recently), Wherever I May Roam (my favorite among the famous ones), Fixxxer, All Nightmare Long and Spit out The bone (for me, the best in this century)
Probably the most the enjoyable Metallica ranking I've seen on RUclips; you didn't waste time, I enjoyed the descriptions and always love the different opinions of fans. Great video!
@@Bladez07 I appreciate your comment so i pinned it. Yeah, you should read the comments on Anesthesia.. it's just that i don't really like that song.. being flexible i give that a 5,3/10 but deserves to be lower imo. I hope you don't hate on me for that, i'm just proving your statement right XDD
My top 10: 1: One 2: Ride the lighthing 3: Master Of Puppets and Battery 4: Creeping Death 5: For Whom The Bell Tolls 6: Fade To Black 7: Whiskey In The Jar 8: Disposable Heroes 9: Lepek Messiah 10: Blackened and ...And Justice For All
Honestly i dont get why load is as hated as it is because my top 10 have ended up as 10) master of puppets 9) enter sandman 8) for whom the bell tolls 7) 2 x 4 6) screaming suicide 5) One 4) thorn within 3) the house that jack built 2) poor twisted me 1) king nothing Ive got a very disagreeable top 10 so I guess I can go fuck myself
mate, i think what we have here is the best metallica ranking ive ever seen, massive props for putting so many underrated songs so high. earned my sub.
This goes to show , not everyone has the same opinions. I'm still gonna respect yours , even though 51-50-49 all deserve at least top 20 in my opinion.
Very unique opinions. I appreciate that you threw many songs that are popular like Seek & Destroy. Tho I can't say that I agree with most, but cool list.
Anyone’s list is his list.. we all can make lists like this and we would all be right. It’s a matter of taste and you have balls making it. My list would have ALL Load and Reload and Death Magnetic and St Anger and the last disc songs (with a couple exceptions) above number 60. Maybe I’m too old school.
Excuse my english, please!!! (From Brasil) I have my disagreements with the author, but I must say: it was a great piece of work doing all this. It takes guts to expose one's opinion. And I also wanna thank the author for showing some "underrated" songs, witch I'm paying much more attention to right now. I mean… the guy had to put a lot of work in this thing. Let’s respect that work!
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and yeah, I've seen only a few ppl appreciate how much time I put into this video. I gotta thank you for that! I easily pissed off a third of the fandom ranking FWTBT, FTB and S&D as low as I did.
My top 10 1. Fade to Black 2. One 3. Master of puppets 4. Creeping death 5. Blackened 6. Spit out the bone 7. Room of Mirrors 8. Inomarata 9.Ride the Lightning 10.Battery Overall 2 the Songs from 72 seasons jumped into my top as I really adore the harmonies in room of mirrors while inomarata flows so well.
I recently revisited the Master of Puppets album and I gained so much more respect for TTTSNB, Leper Messiah, Damage Inc. and it really made me realize how much of a masterpiece the entire album really is. And I agree, Disposable Heroes is such a kickass song and deserved #1 😅
Surprised you didn't get torched for where you listed Puppets. But thanks for the cool list. You've inspired me to listen to the whole discography beginning to end tomorrow!
I could never rank Metallica albums honestly, I just love every single one to death, I'll list some of my favorites from each one though: - Room of Mirrors - Spit Out The Bone - All Nightmare Long - The Unnamed Feeling - Fixxxer - Mama Said - My Friend of Misery - Dyers Eve - Damage Inc. - Fight Fire with Fire - Metal Militia
Loved how you had Trapped Under Ice at #2. Such an epic, powerful and mesmerizing song. It’s so good that it’s almost scary. I did cringe just a tad when you had FTB and Saniarium that low, but I respect your opinion. Really cool and interesting list.
My top 10 1. Battery 2. Creeping death 3. The four horsemen 4. One 5. Fight fire with fire 6. All nightmare long (underrated in my opinion) 7. Sanitarium 8. Disposable heroes 9. Master of puppets 10. Fade to black
My top 15 (may change a bit depending on the mood): 15) If Darkness Had A Son 14) Hardwired 13) Sweet Amber 12) Just A Bullet Away 11) The Unforgiven III (Same as Carpe Diem Baby) 10) Carpe Diem Baby (This would need to be higher but it's a top 15 so...) 9) Wasting My Hate 8) Frantic 7) The Shortest Straw 6) Moth Into Flame 5) 72 Seasons 4) Lords of Summer 3) And Justice For Jason 2) Don't Tread On Me 1) Ride The Lightning
1: The Outlaw Torn 2: Bleeding Me 3: All Within My Hands 4: Shoot Me Again 5: That Was Just Your Life 6: I Disappear 7: Cyanide 8: The Unforgiven (I, II, III, combined) 9: If Darkness Had A Son 10: Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
My top 5: 1. Jump in the fire( second solo is the best solo I've ever heard) 2.The Unforgiven 1(Best ballad) 3.Damage inc (Gives alot of energy) 4.Disposable Heroes(Lyrics hits different) 5.MOP(just a legend song)
That was just your life is majorly underrated. Its a great opener for Death Magnetic and the riff is crazy. And finally some disposable heros appreciation
The "Everything after AJFA sucks!" contingent will probably hate this list. I definitely would have put Master of Puppets higher, but I respect the variety of songs throughout the list. I absolutely love "Escape" and didn't know back in the late 80's when I got into Metallica that the band hated it. I've always liked the catchiness that they didn't like about it. Kudos to you.
I think the fans don't appreciate the variation Metallica took on those songs. Escape is probably a bit off in terms of production but hell idc, I love it but TRAPPED UNDER ICE?? That song is just peak Metallica... imagine it being played in Seattle 89 or during the black album tour. Escape, Trapped Under Ice and Disposable Heroes will always be my favorite Metallica songs.
super late comment here, but i honestly wasn't expecting disposable heroes at #1 at all. my personal favorite, glad to see a person who agrees. i cant get enough of it lol
when you stated that Anesthesia is wasted potential what do you think could’ve made it better? cause i personally love anesthesia and think its cliffs most underrated bass solo

Orion at 40 is like stabbing me in the heart. Deserves at least top 10
Oh my God. I didn't make it this far because of Harvester of Sorrow at 92. Orion at anything under top 5 is absurd.

It was nice seeing stuff from hardwired, death magnetic and 72 seasons in the top 20. They deserve recognition. The post black album stuff isn't as good overall but still very solid and don't deserve to just be called crap and ignored. Lots of good material post black album.
@@midnight347 The new albums have a lot of forgettable tracks but also a few really good songs. FTB is more overrated than Sandman imo
Putting Anesthesia at 101 is a crime
AGREED
Deserves to be lower IMO so ig that's death penalty for me😇
@@vinceyrankings You literally have no musical understanding. We couldn't care less about your opinion about their songs because you are so off.
@@vinceyrankingsXD
@@vinceyrankingsare you mentally ok or are you just that retarded.
I'm glad we have very similar tastes!! This list is just based on my opinion, a lot of inmature ppl keep hating on it
my top 10
1. Motorbreath
2. Disposable heroes
3. Creeping death
4. Hit the lights
5. RTL
6. MOP
7. Fade to black
8. One
9. Battery
10. Damage, inc.
Escape third?, the funniest joke id ever heared
It's real😂😂😂
The fact that you put holier than thou at 8 gives you my respect
I love that half of St. Anger was on the bottom
I'm kind of getting into My World rn but otherwise, what else did you expect? 😅
Duh it sucks what did you except?
I love that even if its at the bottom, blud kinda likes some of the songs on it.
Inamorata is single-handedly one of, if not, the best song they’ve put out in the last 20 years musically. It’s a Load era version of Fade to black
Al fin alguien que aprecia trapped under ice.
Que temazo
Si, es un canción increíble.
Very good choices dude. Thx for appreciating this list!
Probably the most the enjoyable Metallica ranking I've seen on RUclips; you didn't waste time, I enjoyed the descriptions and always love the different opinions of fans. Great video!
I always try to answer my comments. It's a pleausure to entertain y'all, a remake of this video should be out in a few months
Disposable Heroes is the best song for sure. A epic anti-war master piece
Imma just say, you are brave for doing this.
but come on, ronnie worst intro ever
I appreciate your comment but why do I even need to be brave? Music is subjective so everyone should respect each other's opinions
@@vinceyrankings I meant that you posted your opinion out. not a lot of people do that because of the hate and backlash they might receive.
@@vinceyrankings It's all good but yooo thanks for the pin

5: For Whom The Bell Tolls
6: Fade To Black
7: Whiskey In The Jar
8: Disposable Heroes
9: Lepek Messiah

Honestly i dont get why load is as hated as it is because my top 10 have ended up as
10) master of puppets
9) enter sandman
8) for whom the bell tolls
7) 2 x 4
6) screaming suicide
5) One
4) thorn within
3) the house that jack built
2) poor twisted me
1) king nothing
Ive got a very disagreeable top 10 so I guess I can go fuck myself
Everyone's got different opinions 🤟
Seek and destroy in 86?
Fade to black in 50?
If Darkness had a Son is masterpiece, WTF?!
Seek And destroy at 87 is wild
Saw them live once and Hetfield asked the crowd if anybody wanted to hear songs off st. Anger. Dead silence. He said “neither do we.”
Pretty unique list, and it seems well thought out from your experience
Ranking Harvester so low is a crime against music! 😅 Seriously though it's easily top 20.
Ajfa deserves at least 3 musics at top 10, is a underrated album between the most famous
mate, i think what we have here is the best metallica ranking ive ever seen, massive props for putting so many underrated songs so high. earned my sub.
This goes to show , not everyone has the same opinions. I'm still gonna respect yours , even though 51-50-49 all deserve at least top 20 in my opinion.
Honestly happy to see “Don’t Tread On Me” get some love. Nice and groovy.
Disposable heroes should have been the track that named master of puppets come on it's even depicted in the cover
Props to you for ranking Jump in the fire so high. I think it's amazing and deserves more attention
Very unique opinions. I appreciate that you threw many songs that are popular like Seek & Destroy. Tho I can't say that I agree with most, but cool list.
Everyone's allowed to disagree or be perplexed. Only few ppl know how to be polite, that's the thing
Beyond Magnetic, I Disappear and Lords of Summer: "Are we a joke to you?"
HAHAHAHA, good comment!
@@vinceyrankings thanks man
Excuse my english, please!!! (From Brasil)
I have my disagreements with the author, but I must say: it was a great piece of work doing all this.
Yeah, FTB and FWTBT are among my favourites, but I understand that my opinion is much more subjective xD @@vinceyrankings hope you keep the good work
My top 10
1. Fade to Black

3. Master of puppets
4. Creeping death
5. Blackened
6. Spit out the bone
7. Room of Mirrors
8. Inomarata
9.Ride the Lightning
10.Battery
Overall 2 the Songs from 72 seasons jumped into my top as I really adore the harmonies in room of mirrors while inomarata flows so well.
I recently revisited the Master of Puppets album and I gained so much more respect for TTTSNB, Leper Messiah, Damage Inc. and it really made me realize how much of a masterpiece the entire album really is. And I agree, Disposable Heroes is such a kickass song and deserved #1 😅
Harvester of Sorrow at 92 and For whom the bell tolls at 51 could be classed as a warcrime. Top 15 maybe...
it's funny actually hahhhahaha
I'm in shock 😯
I was so shocked to see For whom the bell tolls so low
Surprised you didn't get torched for where you listed Puppets. But thanks for the cool list. You've inspired me to listen to the whole discography beginning to end tomorrow!
So glad to have insprired you👍
i mostly aggree but what the hell is atlas rise doing in 94th place that song is such a banger
yall forgettin this is in HIS opinion not anyone elses we all got different taste
Yooo thx for that!
You Must Burn! is a very good track you should go listen a couple more times
I could never rank Metallica albums honestly, I just love every single one to death, I'll list some of my favorites from each one though:
- Room of Mirrors
- Spit Out The Bone
- All Nightmare Long
- The Unnamed Feeling
- Fixxxer
- Mama Said
- My Friend of Misery
- Dyers Eve
- Damage Inc.
- Fight Fire with Fire
- Metal Militia
Loved how you had Trapped Under Ice at #2. Such an epic, powerful and mesmerizing song. It’s so good that it’s almost scary. I did cringe just a tad when you had FTB and Saniarium that low, but I respect your opinion. Really cool and interesting list.
Respect for liking Metal Militia
I'm happy 'Escape' got ranked so highly. I think it's their most underrated song and my personal fav.
Maybe it's basic and improvised but is more compelling than stuff like Seek or Harvester, those are so overrated for what they are
My top 10
1. Battery
2. Creeping death
3. The four horsemen
4. One
5. Fight fire with fire
6. All nightmare long (underrated in my opinion)
7. Sanitarium
8. Disposable heroes
9. Master of puppets
10. Fade to black
My top 15 (may change a bit depending on the mood):
15) If Darkness Had A Son
14) Hardwired
13) Sweet Amber
12) Just A Bullet Away
11) The Unforgiven III (Same as Carpe Diem Baby)
10) Carpe Diem Baby (This would need to be higher but it's a top 15 so...)
9) Wasting My Hate
8) Frantic
7) The Shortest Straw
6) Moth Into Flame
5) 72 Seasons
4) Lords of Summer
3) And Justice For Jason
2) Don't Tread On Me
1) Ride The Lightning

Lots of interesting opinions. I’m glad there’s someone else who loves Escape. Definitely love that one a lot along with the title track.
Escape is such an amazing song
1:41 you son of a gun
Don’t let this man rank again
That was just your life is majorly underrated. Its a great opener for Death Magnetic and the riff is crazy. And finally some disposable heros appreciation
The "Everything after AJFA sucks!" contingent will probably hate this list. I definitely would have put Master of Puppets higher, but I respect the variety of songs throughout the list. I absolutely love "Escape" and didn't know back in the late 80's when I got into Metallica that the band hated it. I've always liked the catchiness that they didn't like about it. Kudos to you.
Im glad there's ppl who like Escape, thx for watching the video!
Dude idk how trapped under ice and especially escape gets no love escape is the most underrated song of all time
I think the fans don't appreciate the variation Metallica took on those songs.

I wish they played Bleeding Me more often. It's my #1.
Harvester of Sorrow at 92 makes me question if I've slipped into an alternate dimension without realising it.
@WeightLossPodcast in the Metalliverse of madness
when you stated that Anesthesia is wasted potential what do you think could’ve made it better? cause i personally love anesthesia and think its cliffs most underrated bass solo
