- For this video, I used the Midjourney A.I. art bot to generate art using just the titles of every Metallica song. I simply put the title of the song in, picked my favorite one, and used it.
This was super cool, but it took a bunch of hassle to make. I have a new level of respect for RUclipsrs. Well, certain ones at least.
My five personal favorite pictures from this are:

@@jthunderstriker probably when the AI was being developed the depictions we see are from earlier images indexed when attributing meaning to words or phrases, such as with the girl in the red dress popping up everywhere when it makes images. Or caped bad guys with strangely ominous and evil presence
I love how all of them are really awesome or disturbing and then Battery is literally just a battery
I mean, it somehow managed to make a double-A look cool af though, & the image resonates with the tone of the song.

@@dreamofyouandi I do. Dave is my favorite musician and at some point in time I've bought every Megadeth album at least once. I'm just respecting the fact that this is a Metallica video and don't want to be mistaken for one of those fanboys who always has to be "that guy".

I love how the Don't Tread on Me snake cover is so well-known that the AI incorporated it into the artwork
Cover? It 's from the Gadsden Flag, which predates the cover by a couple of hundred years...

Which is why the picture is yellow and has the snake on it: after the Gadsden flag, and the slogan, which pre-date and are used far more than a fairly poorly-known Metallica song is referenced in popular culture. There is absolutely nothing to do with Metallica in that image.
The same reason there are zero Metallica references in any of the other images. You really think it pops up just for that one and none of the other more well known songs?

Edit: As the video has unfolded I had to stop and shout out Frayed Ends of Sanity & To Live is To Die. I'm sure there'll be plenty more as I go along here, but these three are just unreal to me. I'd love to hang a few in my home studio!

The one for Welcome Home (Sanitarium) is honestly quite disturbing especially since the AI was able to incorporate some stereotypical yet terrifying elements of a what it things a Sanitarium/Asylum would look like

Going from the harsh audio of St. Anger and Death Magnetic to the ultra clean and crisp production on Hardwired was so good it gave me chills
Hardwired was actually a good album, better than anything else since the black album

@@metallicoustic6733 Oh yeah don't get me wrong Load and Reload were good. I honestly believe Unforgiven II is their single most underrated song. I just personally prefer the overall feel (and mixing) of Hardwired.
If only the songs on hardwired were less generic sounding. :/

It’s never been so easy to make album covers until now
I have no idea how the AI works, but I’m wondering how each song would turn out if all the lyrics were entered.
You can see from Don't Tread on me that the AI is copying some existing work and blending with whatever is available online. On these AI sites you can even choose the art style you want.

It also made me remember that St. Anger isn't *THAT* bad as people say - it would still be Metallica's "ugly duckling" (We don't talk about Lulu), but if it had normal drums it would definitely sound less worse.

Aside from the Kick-Ass imagery, this is a fantastic tribute to the back catalog of bangers Metallica have had!
The house jack built was awesome, not only was the picture different then most others and stood out but the colour scheme thru the windows matches the album cover

Poor Twisted Me Would Make A KILLER Album Cover. Good Job On The Vid Btw! Loved It!
So the AI draws the pictures based on the song name. Jump In The Fire, the cover has someone jumping into fire.
Not entirely, it pulls from existing images and art that are found using the AI’s algorithm, almost like a Google image search, and then does it’s best to stitch those images together into a cohesive unit. That’s why AI art can’t actually be used legally in a commercial way because it’s not actually creating anything from scratch, it’s taking other existing art and images and building a “collage” so to speak out of them.
Why are these exactly like how I’d imagine Metallica drawing them as album covers

I’m on a huge Ghost kick right now and really digging the new Megadeth record. I’d say do some classic rock like the stones or Zeppelin or Black Sabbath or maybe the Beatles but their catalog is just as huge as Metallica has. I’ve given you 6 options all would be cool. This is beautiful but also terrifying if you do a creative job for a living. There's not a single job both creative or technical that A.I. won't be able to replace. A very interesting future await us...
To be honest, I don't think so. AI has kinda unique style and, at least, what I see here is that it's not very good at adapting to the mood of the song. Therefore, I don't think that artists will be replaced fully.
