    I wonder how it would sound with two bows in each hand. If it sounds particularly interesting, it may be even more interesting to put a pedal controlled motor on it with a free wheel to handle the spinning. Very cool invention and instrument!

      @@fronreilly4787 I was about to comment how a treddle could be outfitted with one of those, without the machine. Love it! Looka like a similar musical concept to a glass harp. Have always wanted something more cost effective/practical to accomplish that sound.

    • @Shunteration
      @Shunteration Месяц назад +10

      Speaking of pedal controlled, have you considered rigging it up atop an old foot-pedaled sewing machine's desk, or building something something similar for it?
      ruclips.net/video/2o7_IAWhMtE/видео.html&ab_channel=COWDesignStudio
      That way, you could allow the player to have a bit more fine control over the speed of the spin.

      Honestly we'd probably have plenty more interesting innovations and inventions if people weren't doing it for the sake of money. Because what makes money is what gets funded and beautiful albeit niche instruments aren't really going to be invented all that much simply because most people don't care enough to fund it. I really hope this inspires people to go out and come up with their own though.

      I love everyone's optimism and I hate to be a downer but there are a few reasons why this won't be the case:
      Orchestras are rooted in classical music, and even modern orchestral music uses the same instruments they had in the classical era
      This instrument can only play two chords without being retuned, making it's use in songs that have more than 2 chords extremely restricted

    Fron I've been fascinated by your creations ever since i stumbled upon your Uke hurdy-gurdy invention. I too am a musician/inventor but have yet to combine my two passions. I think you are really onto something here, especially if you can play or sell the instrument to a production company for musicals/film, being totally honest here, could be big bucks and acknowledgement if you can find the right connections.
    I wish you the best from New Brunswick Canada, one creative mind to another!
    Ps is there anywhere i could learn how to build and/or buy the plans to the uke-gurdy?
