You are seriously underrated. I think one day some of your instrument designs will be used more widely. It's really refreshing to see so much innovation going on.
I used to be a member of an experimental sound studio in Chicago, IL, but it was just too much money 💰 to keep it up so I had to eventually end my membership ☹️ they didn't get any money from other sources, so they relied on private members. Sad 😔 That was 30 years ago when I was going to art school 🏫 and I was still a student and on a budget. The owner was sorta strange and he had few financial connections with other people. Long story. He was kind of artsy fartsy. They're probably long gone now ☹️ O well!! But I really like the effects you got with your creations!! I only wish that I had the space, etc to do what you do!! Bravo 👏🏻
What really is amazing about these instruments is that it's two mechanisms that sound like a whole orchestra playing in an atmospheric, and beautiful way. a fascinating harnessing of sound that I'd never know was done this way by ear until you show it to me.
As more of an engineer than a musician it really is fabulous watching the evolution of the design. Huge thanks for sharing, and once again, wishing you all the best, Fron!
Fron, I’m going to guess you know we heal by changing our tune, our frequency. Sound heals, and your instruments are delightfully wonderful feeling as they resonate through me like the energy of the singularity we all belong to. Bravo sir. Bravo!
I've always said I can play anything with strings, I may have underestimated the ingenuity of people like you.🧠 Very interesting, thank you for sharing this, and thank you for bringing more beautiful music into this world. 🕊️♥️🍀🧠🎶💪🏼
Wonderful! My friend Tony Karol is in Mississauga. He makes beautiful harp guitars, and even without being plucked, the harp strings interact with the guitar section, creating ethereal harmonics that are much prettier than any electronic reverb. I'm curious about the other constructions I see on the walls of your shop!
I have an idea for a hurdy gurdy that is like a hurdy gurdy as a pedal steel is to a lap steel. A treadle operated wheel system, and maybe 2-4 ranks of keys that can be played in a more keyboard style, similar to a clavichord. I need more of a functional workshop before I can prototype that though.
The stupidest thing I did with a drill press was in metal shop in junior high. While drilling through an 1/8” flat bar, apparently I was drilling with a dull bit and it was taking too long to start cutting, so I applied convincing downward pressure and the bit shattered, flinging a hot piece of bit onto my left forearm (left arm red mark as a warning) and the balance of the pieces took to hiding within the shop. Fortunately, that was as bad as it got, I was wearing safety goggles and nobody was in my immediate area. Since then, I make sure I have a sharp enough drill bit and I let the bit do the cutting, not the lever.
These need to be put into a wind sculpture so you could just kick back snd enjoy the random wind generated sound. * Just opened your channel. Maybe you're already thinking that.

Wow, thank you!
The algorithm will do it. Only a matter of time

I Am Feeling Bliss
I never in a million years would have guessed the beautiful sound this instrument makes. Stunning work.
Thanks!
This is fantastic. The hurdy gurdy was apparently often as big as an organ, because it was used before them in medieval churches
Yes, they were originally 'crew-served' instruments: one person turned the crank, the other played the keys.
Dude you're the musical instrument producing Picasso of our generation
Yep, it sounds just like picasso painting looks.
That was so beautiful my man way to gooooo !
My good sir, never stop doing what you do, please!

What was the studio called? I'm curious.
Jolies accords 😮🎵👍😊

This needs to be in a movie yesterday
How have I never found. this channel before. Genius
Love the mechanical clock
Thanks! I designed it and built it as well as the instruments.
You know it’s a good day when Fron Reilly posts
WOW! That was lovely and sent chills up and down me
This is beautiful, the tensioners in the middle make it look like a cross between a koto and a hurdy gurdy
As more of an engineer than a musician it really is fabulous watching the evolution of the design. Huge thanks for sharing, and once again, wishing you all the best, Fron!
Sooooo cool!!! Definitely beautiful sounds! Thank you for sharing!!!!💜

THIS is the future of music when the power goes out. Start practicing everyone.

Genialny dźwięk. Bardzo udany eksperyment.
The sound reminds me a bit of the sound of a berimbau. Absolutely stunning
Gorgeous, breathtaking
What's the rotating mechanism in the background? I would love to see a tour of your workshop and all your creations.
Those are extraordinary!
Crazy how much this sounds like a note modulator. Super impressive!
I don‘t know if ones did mention it before in the comments but these sounds remind me of the music from the Movie Annhilation. Love it!❤
1:42 is my favourite part. Sounds lovely
Wow! 🤯 I love the sound that it makes. Keep it up sir and thank you for that beautiful sound. ❤
I've always said I can play anything with strings, I may have underestimated the ingenuity of people like you.🧠

Outsanding, haunting
fantastic work!
Thanks a lot!
Both instruments impressive me! Can you share any information about Drone Hurdy-Gurdy construction? Thanks!
Great stuff you're doing!
You've created an acoustic sequencer, and it's fantastic.
Have you tried using two bows with it?
Beautiful
you're a very cool dude, Reilly!
How can we get this into a kontakt instrument? This is very dope
it makes lovely sounds. if you could add pedals to turn it, then you could have a bow in each hand. you are so very creative. thank you for sharing.

They are mechanical clocks with wooden mechanisms that I design and build.
amazing.
This is amazing. What are the musical notes that you tuned it into?
Incredible

Can you tune the strings to a desired note?
Αcoustic sequencer !
Хочу на таком инструменте играть научиться, это сложно наверное?
А вообще мне очень нравится!
Amazing!!!
awesome !
Wonderful
would love to hear an electric version using distorsion and other effects
this sounds like the ost from satisfactory
‘Panic at the existential crisis’ made into sound
You can hear the forward linear motion in this instrument. Like the strings are circling around you on horses.

i'm assuming you do movie soundtracks

Really cool
You are Fantastico
How do I buy it from you?
Dit is het gaafste dat ik in tijden gezien heb.
increible que belleza
amazing
the drone from the hurdy gurdy reminds me of the ambiance in Kane Pixel's backrooms found footage series
Made me want to spear tackle my fridge and turn it into an instrument.
Love your work 🦍
Fabulous
What happens if it's a smaller cylinder???
Or larger?
Bravo 👏🏿
"Sir I need to replace a string on my Fron"
"What"
Pum pum pum pum, pop! Pum pum pum pum pop! Finally, I've reached the surface..
When i imagine what sound this is coming from, i think of a keyboard
This is what i think aether portals sound like
Very interesting
A true tinkerer in action!
Finally: Player Violin
Sounds like music that is played while watching movies.
This is the soundtrack to Iceland.
