maybe he could turn it upside down and mount it with a tripod next time, and on the bottom (will now be top on tripod) can have sights for proper aiming?
With larger and more complex moving projects like this, I think some grease would go a long way at making it smoother to operate. Love your stuff! Keep up the great work! :)
considering the plastic material he's using I don't think you'd want to use a petroleum based lubricant because it might eat the plastic and graphite might act as an abrasive. Silicone could work though.
Use baby powder as a dry lube. For parts with close tolerances, especially cylinders I have had easier installation with dry lubes than silicone sprays. And it lasts longer
My favorite thing about the way you do these videos, is that you show the process in such a way that we can understand *why* all these parts are the way they are! It's super helpful for understanding everything that goes on!
Bro just made a 3D printed handheld Bofors 40mm anit aircraft gun as a personal weapon. Top tier work my dude. everything is so similar to the Bofors 40mm gun!
Absolutely a masterpiece. What would be really cool is if you could motorize it to make it semi or full auto. The cannon itself reminds me of the 40mm bofors cannon that the USA used as anti aircraft guns.
@@flyguy0765most self reloading mechanism in 🔫 work from gas, the propellant gas goes down the barrel and there’s usually a channel which separates off and recirculates it back into a plunger.

Dude makes the best Adult Nerf toys ever. I can see these being eventually made for kits or airsoft/paintball sports. I;d think some scenario tank commanders would love a functional autocannon for their tank
The magazine system you've set up reminds me of the loading system for a Bofors 40mm anti-aircraft gun. Except with the Bofors, the rounds would be loaded into a clip and then loaded into the magazine. This made loading multiple rounds rather easy.
Everyone keeps saying it's like a 40k bolter but in reality it looks more like an autocannon if it had a normal mag instead of a drum mag. Great work btw! Subbed
Realistically you should extend the back out and make it shoulder mounted and fired. That way not only can you actually aim from the side, you actually can manage the recoil better because now you can use your entire back to support it instead of just your arms taking the brunt of it without any other support. Also the barrel could be longer otherwise you will be left with a lot of unburnt powder The helldiver 2 autocannon actually represents this really well
When I found this channel I binged every video and now I impatiently wait for each one XD the deigns are so cool and using hho as propellent is amazing
Now all you need is a support gunner, and that thing can fire for a while. Maybe a box of cartridges, without primer, just for the visual if you having a friend helping you load it.
I think for the shells, you should move away from the silky filaments. Silk tends to have a weaker layer adhesion, which can cause the damage experienced with the jam
i'd honestly consider using something a little more flammable in the shells like isopropyl alcohol or maybe butane, it would add some muzzle flash and wouldn't require the weird HHO generator
Ngl, if the grip was a tradition under-the-gun pistol grip you basically wouldve created a miniature version of the 180mm Cannon used by the Gundam Ground type, fun!
Something like this seems heavy and impractical to hip fire. Putting the bolt up over your shoulder and adding a ramp on the outside of the cannon for shells to fall out while moving the trigger mechanism forwards, potentially even placing it on the barrel shroud, would make it much more practical to aim.
@Cpt_Spear ...the magazine is the part of a gun that holds and feeds ammunition into the action. A magazine doesn't have to be detachable to be a magazine.

If you are using ball projectiles and not cones, you should go for a hop-up system instead of rifling. Hop-up is what airsoft guns have, to reach farther ranges. Its basically a rubber nub, that presses onto the ball, causing back spin
