- This is my review of the HyperX Solocast USB Condenser microphone. This microphone is very similar to the Razer Seiren Mini which beloved by many at this point - but better. It improves on everything that the Seiren Mini does right and fixes what it does wrong for $10 more. Enjoy!

You should make a video about the HyperX Quadcast
I do the following test with the hyperx solocast: in Win10 > control panel > Sound > Recording > solocast > properties > level is at 100 > Listen to this device, and if I place it at 30 cm from my mouth it sounds super low, I must place it at 10 cm to my mouth so it will sound ok. If I do the same test with my webcam, Trust Vero, placed at 50 cm, it sounds much much louder. An update: I found that issue with my old motherboard asus p9h61m EVO. With my work laptop there is not such issue. So I will be upgrading soon to a newer motherboard, which does not have issues with USB mics.

I think the difference between the Seiren Mini and Solocast is enormous, I'm happy with my purchase of the Solocast. Particularly as I used to use a $15 mike.
Yeah, it's crazy to think the difference $10 makes here. HyperX Solocast is the clear winner between the two.

If you're just upgrading to one of these microphones and has a boom arm and shock mount that fits a 50mm diameter, go for the Solocast. But if one these will be your FIRST EVER microphone I suggest getting the Seiren Mini to avoid extra expenses for boom arm and shock mount because Solocast really needs that to eliminate the vibrations.
Sound Quality: Almost the same
Better buy for first timers: Seiren Mini
Beter buy for upgrading: Solocast

I'm the opposite. Was about to get either the solo or the snowball but got the seiren instead. I'm a developer/gamer and type alot so I cannot imagine using this during a conference call/during video games. On top of that, I always have my table cooling fan running in the background.

The solo cast is better if… you purchase a boom arm. The seiren mini does not mute capabilities. The sound is slightly less than that of solocast however it is cheaper. The seiren has built in shock absorption. If you want a mic desk bound go with the seiren, boom arm, go with the solocast

does the lack of build in shock mount interfere a lot with the input? because i saw a review where ambience vibration is very noticable in the mic compared to the seiren mini
I just ordered the Solocast, and I'm kinda worried abt this particular issue too.. Cause I do a lot of typing and gaming, so I'm worried abt the table bumping noises that it will pick up

Will it fit on a normal mic stand?
Also, if you are using is close, you have to adjust the mic gain to a suitable level to eliminate distortion.
It fits fits 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch threaded setups
mic sounds really good!! i had a quick question though. @ 0:48 the audio sounded different than the audio in the rest of the video. was that the raw mic or was that due to a third party program?
That's from the pre-recorded message. I recorded that one with the Shure SM7B.
Does this microphone pick up a lot of noise from a mechanical keyboard when gaming? Do you have any experience with that?

Would you take the solocast over the Seiren X? X is currenty half price so the solocast is £15 more expensive.
I still would, personally. I don't like how the Seiren X sounds - but that'; just my opinion. I would go with the Solocast.

It just arrived, free I may add as amazon had it lost in shipping so refunded. I just set it up under my monitor, behind the keyboard and it picks up my voice perfectly but no keys. There's a surprising weight to it!

@@unbiasOrbit hey, I got the solo and couldn't be happier. I got a cheap gooseneck mount which negates any desk/keyboard feedback but to be honest I never had anyone complain beforehand. It sits to the side of my monitor and I sit maybe 2 foot away so the pickup is great. The ambient noise cancelling works so well that if I cough or clap it doesn't register. A friend picked up the Razer and it's terrible. It could be he doesn't know how to set it up perhaps but they're both plug and play, I just adjusted sound in discord and that's it, perfect from the box.
but the seiren mini's screen (like windscreen or pop filter) is better than solocast's
also the stand is better and it doesnt pick up as much noise from the vibration on your desk

yes, the is just a little better if you like the shape and everything then you should get the snowball but if you don't get the solo cast, it's all on looks quality is similar 👍🏼. God bless
the snowball sounds really muffled.. the snowball ice even more.. the solocast sounds much more natural

You can only mount it to the screw mount on a mic arm.

Hello I have 100$ budget , Fifine T669 or Hyperx Solocast ? which one do you recommend ? May be even better option other than these two which I do not know under 100$ ? I will add sound to animation and sometimes stream or will make some videos. Thanks 😊
For that particular line of work, I would choose the Fifine T669. It works best when its closer to you and does offer more detailed and natural sound than the HyperX Solocast. This is if you're doing voice over work, of course (which sounds like you might).

Like I mentioned in the video, I recorded everything without modifying the sound in any way.
hyperex is better but also pick so mucho noise from the outside so if u recorde in a place with too mucho background noise i would go for the razer xd

its literally the same specs, dont trust every video youw watch, search for yourself, i just bought the seiren mini, its absolutely the SAME quality, the only difference at all is the mute button, and btw razer's shock stand is much better and less noisy

better sound in general? did you really see the mic specs? they have literally the same specs, but hyperx solocast has a mute button, that's the only difference at all
HyperX solocast is actually 90 bucks. That's a 40 bucks diff
Not really. On HyperX's website, Best Buy, and more. you will find it for $59.99. Though, on Amazon it is about $90 for some reason.
