Here Is a Great Boom Arm You Can Pair With Either the Solocast or Seiren Mini - ruclips.net/video/6Z4tis1iHHU/видео.html
@@Mr.B7845 I talk about it in detail in the video.
Hi
I got the chance to use both and let me tell you:
If you just want to get a better mic for discord then buy the Razer Seiren mini!
The amount of background noise that the Hyperx picks up really fucks with discord noise suppression and makes your voice volume go up and down and outright cuts your voice.
Thanks so much im gonna get the seiren mini!
thank you bro man ill get the seiren mini is cool bro
Thank you! That's 90% my mic usage so it helps a lot to know this.
Mind if I ask, what are your Discord mic settings with the Mini? I currently have a Neewer 7000 and I deactivated noise supression, echo and whatever else cause sometimes it mutes my voice a lot but once deactivated the background noise is insane. The mic pics birds that are far. o______O"
@@Bacavoit i had the neewer 7000 too and tried to change the settings a bit but since I don't know much I kept making the voice cutting or noise worse. It fixed itself when I just defaulted all the settings though.
for the mini settings I just keep them at default on voice activity and it works fine, I don't have nitro anyway so I don't think my voice will sound better anyway
Upload more my dude it been 2years lol
another small channel does better reviews than big one
Haha Thank you!
Small?
Honestly this is a fantastic video. thank you so much Caleb. You saved me so much hassle by testing SEVERAL things i wondered. I am tossed up between both and this side by side with typing tests, boom mic position tests, cord positions, mute buttons, background noise. all helps. Thank you again for doing this video for us.
I would love to see using the Seiren mini's microphone stand on the Solocast to make clear if the vibration problems with the Solocast come from its mount's unstable and solid build and/or the way the microphone connects to the stand.
In case you are reading this late comment and happen to still have the microphones, out of curiosity, please let me know your results.
4:00 hyperx
7:04 razer seiren mini
good vid Thankyou
thx for the time stamps!
legend
Woah, thank you so much... Ive been searching reviews for both of them, and you made a review for both of them, also really good test, and explanation. Thank you.
Glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching!
I really appreciate how he reviewed these two mics. So now I know what mic to purchase. Thanks a lot! :)
huh, I never really thought of the desk shakiness and the usage of the boom arm, thanks for teaching me new factors to look into when choosing a mic XD
Glad you found it helpful! Hope you get a microphone that works well for you 😀
@@CalebThornton Thanks 😁
Great video! I’m doing lots of ASMR of my rabbit chewing and so I wanted the best possible audio for a cheap price. This video helped a lot
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful😀
Thank You ! This helps a ton right now since I m trying to find a more or less budget mic (because in my country those unfortunatrlly are not budget at all :( ) that picks up as less as possible vibrations and low background sounds, since I have very busy main street right outside the house and also public transport causes quite a lot and pretty visible vibrations. Considering Razer after this
This review is amazing!!! Your effort on this worked well 👌🏻
Thank you!
You should have wayyyy more subscribers. There aren’t many small youtubers with your level of professionalism.
Thank you very much! Appreciate the kind words😀
Thanks for the review! Thinking about my lifestyle and considering the low vibration, I will buy the Razer Seiren Mini. Thank you for this helpful vid!
Siren mini is a way to go if you don't want to edit a lot of audio, which I do. Definitely subbed!
I bought the Razer mic recently and used it for the first time with Shotcut. It was very easy to use although I had to adjust the gain to get a louder volume. It has a nice tone to it and a friend said it made me sound posh! Lol.
I was just thinking of looking for a video like this since I had my doubts with the solocast, and today you appeared among my recommendations, a greeting from Mexico (and sorry if it is something wrong, but I'm using google translator xD)
Thanks for watching!
The cable placement on the Razer seems like a pro at first, but keep in mind it could make things more difficult if you want to slide the mic into a universal shock mount on a boom arm
Good point, that could cause some issues.
The Hyperx Solocast picks up vibrations with the boom arm as well, even if you just nudge the boom arm the vibrations basically destroys the mic and you can hear the vibration resonance for like 1 min afterwards as well. While the Razer Seiren just picks up your voice better with the boom arm with basically no downside to it. So I would recommend the Razer Seiren Mini, even tho I mostly hate Razer products.
It just sucks the razer dosent have a mute button
@@cialos848 yep. thats whats making my decision harder.
I mean yall can use macros to mute ig
i bet the reason is the table ur using is a bit off and shakes. basically, mine does too but i dont care about it cuz i dont go intense. with the boom arm. both works the same. most players here have a loose table :D
@@jukt.There are other problems with shakyness than just shaky table. For example I have very solid and quite heavy table, you cant shake it with hands, but I do have literal main street outside the house right under my windows and the roads are not perfect,so heavy public transport going over a hole or a bump on the road causes the ground to shake to the point where everything shakes here pretty visibly, no matter how stable the furniture/things are.
I really appreciate the video m8, thank you :D
Thank you for the keyboard test. It really helps
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😀
thank you bro for your efforts. The video was helpful
great in depth review!
Bear in mind, the slider on OBS only goes up to 0db, but you can go into the advanced audio properties and set it to a higher value there. I've been setting my current microphone to +5db, until my computer suddenly decided my mic should behave differently.
Just got a 19$ deal on the razor seiren mini, exited to use it. great guide!
Thanks for this, I'll choose Razer Seiren for my voice over projects.
THE ONLY REVIEW who does the keyboard test and boom arm test , thank you for this!
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching 😀
Thank you, a very honest comparative and plenty of samples of real use, not useless chatter with another microphone (yeah, I see it's pretty, but it's a mic, not a piece of modern art).
Fantastic vid, subbed, hopefully, your channel takes off - one of the best product reviews I've seen (most scream like high energy ads these days). Is the video on the best mounting arms coming soon? If not if you got a few suggestions totally feel free to DM or comment, thanks!
Thank you very much, appreciate the kind words! Yeah, It should be out this week. Testing one out now. I plan on doing more boom arms in the future though. There is so many choices for them.
I have a boom arm already from my previous microphone kit and it I believe it supports the solocast so i think I will go for it. A mic mute button is important for me but I may not want to use the boom arm due to a cleaner look or anything along those lines. Should I still go for the solocast if i decide to use a boomarm or can you recommend something else for around this price range?
Hey man I've gotta say this is a really good review!!!!
Thank you very much!
Damnnnn that vibration on the solo cast
I know right
Awesome review, new sub, whats your mouse pad? Love it!
Subscribed, super cool.
I don't regret picking this video over the others. Getting the SoloCast soon
Thanks for watching! Hope it works well for you 😀
Thank you so much for this quality review. Will be buying HyperX Solocast. More power to you.
Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoy it 😀
One thing I notice on the Razer Seiren is that when you plug it in, Windows by default turn down the gain volume by a lot.
So if you want it to pick up more volume, try adjusting the gain on your Windows settings.
Good to know 👍
The goal is to have almost no gain though, buy a boom arm it will help. Record a side by side of your microphone on your desk while speaking vs while its near your mouth speaking, you will notice the massive difference.
so that's the reasoning behind why razer sounds lower actually. so a bit misleading test unfortunately.
Really good review detailed too
First video here but im subscribing
Thank you!
Thank you for this video I am ordering the Razer mic!!
Glad I could help! I hope you enjoy it😀
i prefer hyper lmaoo
After watching 3 reviews I had no idea wich one to buy because it seems like most people are afraid of offending the companies, thank you for making a proper review
Thanks for the typing test. I have the same problem with the rode NT mini USB, it picks up so much rumble from typing, it is unusable.
Great video earned my sub 👍🏼
Thank you!
Thanks for the video! Út was useful.
Only reason imma go for the seiren mini is because it ships to my location from Amazon, while the holocast does not, although I do wish the seiren had a tap to mute. I’m also looking for a budget boom arm to go with it, so I’m looking forward to your reviews 😎. Keep up the high quality content!
That makes sense. Sometimes that is what will make the decision for you. I will try to get some reviews on some budget boom arms before long. Thanks for the support 😀
“Holocast” so close to something so different
@@Brandon-jq3in I noticed that too haha
Holocast?
@@-seoulair hol up
I really needed this. Thank you. Earned a sub. And nothing related to this video but what budget gaming and streaming mic would you recommend?
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching😀
Hi Caleb, I just bought a hyperx solocast 😊😊 your review is sooo precise!! 100% happy I watched your video, I almost buy a razer seiren mini last week. Thank you soo much man! You're a great help ❤
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the solocast!
Wait, i thought the solocast is the worse one here. Aren't the vibrations troublesome?
this is a quality review. thanks
Appreciate it, thanks!
This video is by far the best video on this mic well done.
Thanks!
The video dropped early in the morning of today for me, but now I'll watch it and hope you got a new one lined up lol
Yeah, I ended up uploading it at a different time. Haha never know what to expect
@@CalebThornton let's go lol 😂
Fantastic review, thank you! I'll buy the seiren mini ❤
SO UNDERRATED
Thanks for the review! idk how you only have 5k subs you NEED MORE.
Thank you for watching!
i got the razer seiren mini and its great! i dont regret purchasing it at all
thx for the help
Very cool video! Subbed
Thanks!
Hey thanks for the review both mics sound great, I ended up ordering the Razer since I can't find the HyperX anywhere.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy it 😀
The solo cast is in Amazon I hope you didn’t buy the siren yet
Thank you very much, I have benefited a lot 💜.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😁
Welcome 🥺.
getting the seiren!!! i wont be using an arm so it'll just be perfect for me because of how little background noise and typing it picks up
thx for really good information .
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching 😁
@@CalebThornton really helpful thanks again.
Which would you recommend if you're looking for a solid, compact microphone to leave connected to a hub for my 2021 MBPro 14" powered desktop setup, for FaceTime and online/virtual meetings? My goal is to have something that blends into the smaller corner desk setup I have in my office. Thank you!
thanks brother, this video help me a lot... Keet it up bro •‿•
I'm glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching!
Just ordered the solo cast!!
Awesome!
Just ordered HyperX Solocast. Hope it will be good for me. Thx for the review it really helpful.
Awesome! I hope it works good for you. I'm glad you found it helpful 😀
Bro. Gracias por los subtítulos en español, excelente video me ayudaste mucho.
Thanks, I just really need to find a good boom arm for the razer seiren mini. Any suggestions?
great video man. can i suggest in the mic tests to stop the music. great otherwise!
Thank you! Appreciate the suggestion 👍
What I learned 5 minutes in razer mic picks up way less background noise so if you are a RUclipsr or Twitch streamer definitely get the razer mic. Hyper picks up more sound so if you have a quiet keyboard or mic and minimal background noise I would recommend the hyper x. And for discord, if your friends don't get annoyed by the background noise you might be better of with hyper x but if you already struggle with keeping down background noise I would recommend the mini also when gaming background noise doesn't get in the way. Also, hyper x might be better with a boom arm because its harder to pick up vibrations farther away from the keyboard/ computer vibration.
Well, I already have the SoloCast so it's a good thing I've already ordered a boom arm and shock mount.
Very complete and useful review! You just got yourself a new sub man, keep it up 🤗
Thanks!
I got the Solocast and yeah, the vibration is bad, but I'm getting a boom arm and shock mount for less than 40 bucks and it'll probably sound much better.
Caleb Thornton which one is best for you?
I don't know what to choose (I would use them mainly for discord and for OBS)
This video really made me buy the hyper x solocast
Nice 👍
@Faith same
is it good?
@@aidin6003 lmfao every time he touches it you can just hear it rumbling. even having it just sitting there you can hear the humming of whatever it is he has going on. it just picks up so much of the low frequencies.
@@chickennuggi1012 exactly. I went with the razer seiren. The noise reduction/voice isolation on the hyper x is terrible.
Get attracted by the cute seiren mini! i wonder can it connect to handphone by using 3.5mm to usb or 3.5mm to micro usb adapter?
Ronnel, you have downloaded the software and it wont support it? For me it was just downloading it, then changing some settings in control panel on playback and recording - so whenever starting my pc i just need to open the broadcast program - it will first take me into the older version and I have to just close the window and reopen (says its going to start at launch, but it doesnt it seems).
The humming & vibration on the Hyperx Solocast tho..... Need a boom arm = additional cost
even with a boom arm the vibrations are still crazy loud
@@alyshabrumit4971 maybe boom arm with a shock mount would help?
@@BrainMigraine maybe idk
i you're already getting a boom arm it's super worth it
If you rotate the microphone to the right, the microphone is more stable and prevents these vibrations
dude how tell my how u do that content and u have that subs???? u are to good mate
Haha thank you very much!
is the solocast more sensitive? Since it is indeed way louder but I can also notice an audible hum whereas there were none in the seiren mini
Nice video...I’m new for RUclips and Gaming...Kindly suggest me something best in budget and which adds value to the purpose...
Hello could you help me to decide please? Im thinking about buying HyperX Solocast and Im wondering if it's a good choice if Im talking very quietly and planning to have the mic about 1m in front of me (about 3.3 feet). Will the Solocast still record my voice with a decent quality? Thanks for info!
i know u call uself for caleb, but i call you a real chad! thanks for this video
It’s crazy out that you had music in the background while you tested the microphones 😅😵💫
Hi Caleb. Neither mic seems all that impressive and I personally wouldn’t use the adjective great to describe them. 😄 the one with the usb cable sticking out the back would absolutely drive me nuts. The other one was too low for an average sized person to sit 8” away. I feel these mics ought be reviewed as is and not for potentially being used with a boom arm.
I recently bought a FiFine 678 for $54 and it’s been very nice. It’s solid metal, sits up high, has both a volume and a gain knob as well as a mute button and light. It can also be boom mounted. I use this with my video conferencing calls for work and also multi hour training calls when I don’t want to wear a headset. Btw, you can also plug a headset into it. People tell me my voice comes through very clear and at the right level and they can hear themselves through my external speaker when I have the gain set correctly.
Yeah, that is why I tested them on the desk and then held them up to my mouth showing how it would sound both ways. I personally think they sound good. I have not tested a wide variety of microphones though, so I don't know everything there is on offer. I might have to check out the FiFine 678 though, sounds like a nice microphone.
@@CalebThornton I feel like the one mic that we could barely hear you even with the gain turned up wouldn’t be a good choice, in my opinion. If the company is designing and building these as desktop mics they ought to be able to be used properly that way and bot need and additional piece of hardware that might not fit everyone’s need to get the right sound. Other important features I believe are a mute button, a mute indicator, and actual buttons or knobs for volume and gain. Having to open an app to control these isn’t optimal especially when there are other better quality mics for the same prices that come with these. I’m looking forward to your review of mic arms because that’s my next purchase. 😃. Keep up the good work Caleb.
Do you have a link to the colorful orange/blue deskmat?
Have you tried using Rtx voice with this to minimize backgriund noise?
Wow que buena comparación de los dos micrófonos, es el mejor video que he visto de ellos.
por fin entiendo un comentario jajaj
if i were to turn the solo cast upside down would it drop or is the holder strong enough to hold the mic upside down compared to the seiren mini?
Without the rumble coming from the PC, the solocast sound is much fuller for me, translating to a better overral sound quality. But even though i don't have anything that may cause any vibrations, i'm still worried with all this noise and might end up getting the seiren mini because of the built in shock mount. Could also spend an extra 20 bucks for some kind of stand and a shock mount. I don't really know what to do. Somebody help me 😂😂
What did you end up buying? 😂
@@k4rmababy Also would like to know. Can you please give us an update Igor?
@@Jtac2124yt Hello! I also bought the SoloCast and I love it aswell but I don't like it that much in Discord because of the inbuilt sound suppression in there. Either the mic will pick everything or it won't pick high pitched sounds even from me. I still like it though
u need more subs omg
haha thanks
what's that web app you're using for the microphones volume mixer?
Loved the video! Have you ever tried the fifine t669. I'm struggling to chose between the hyperx solocast and the fifine t669.

Yep,Fifine 678 is great
How did you get rid of the table sounds and the sounds of graving the HyperX? I have one and everytime I record it sounds like a Dollarama mic.
Posture check! It's very important ;)
I was sitting on the front edge of my chair leaning forward while filming. I don't normally sit like this when I'm at my desk. Thanks for reminder though.

hey Caleb, great video! I have the same problem with seiren sounds so distant considering I just use this for gaming and wouldn't have a boom arm. Is it possible to adjust higher gain for Seiren?
Stack it on books so it's closer to your mouth maybe?
@@racer8115 then it'd block the screen a little haha, thanks though! figured it out by adjusting the gains in setting through various apps. works really well now
@@weih723 okay. That's good
Would you recommend the razer seiren mini or the samson meteor mic?
Thanks.
I recently purchased the razer seiren mini it’s a very good microphone also u can make it pick up your voice better and it’s already good at cutting out background sound but I made it so it doesn’t pick up any at all not even my keyboard and mouse which is sitting right behind my microphone on the desk and I use steel series gg to change mic settings a little
does the quality of the mic stay the same as when you would be unsing something like obs even when you use the seiren mini in discord?
Yeah should be no difference. Just going to depend on what the other person is listening to you on as well, like how nice there headphones are or whatever
Caleb, I'm looking for budget mic for mukbang ASMR. What would you recommend?
Just do not plug in micro and camera
