I really loved the Solocast until I heard those terrible rumble sounds when hitting the desk and writing in the keyboard. Totally not what I was looking for, so I went for the Razer Mini.
mee 2
toooooo toooooo tooooo toooooo tooooooo groove vibes
Should always be putting these on a boom arm, regardless.
@@BriefDistractions would that take away those loud sounds?
@@isabelros The thomping from the keyboard? Yes, especially if it's on another table/fixture/whatever. Even if on the same table, the distance and the arm itself will help a lot, as does placing the mic closer to your mouth.
I just got the hyper x cuz of the mute button. That sold me . Can’t wait for starting RUclips . Thx man
There is 3rd party software to mute ur mic xd

Im going for the solo cast, i have a very sturdy desk and will buy an arm for the vibrations. Thank you so much for the review!
i appreciate this video because you are the only reviewer who placed the mics in the desk as is since most user will be using it like that.
Thank you. I was looking for a mobile mic when I am streaming from my laptop, but the shock mount is very impressive.
came out right when i needed it
Love the mute function on the Solo but that built in stabilizer in the Mini is what I’m really after, I have a flimsy desk so the rumble from my desk thumping every time I hammer a key could use all the assistance it can get lol
Brief and straightforward. Information presented are the bare essential an ordinary consumer would like to hear (pun intended).
The razer is quieter while the hyper is bigger/louder. The hyper also picks up more vibrations. Honestly i would get the solocast since it picks up sounds better
Burni would get a boomarm.
Love that I could find a video comparing the exact 2 mics I was deciding between. This was very helpful, thanks!
Which one did you get?
@@khushboo3412 Ended up getting the Solocast because of the mute button and ability to rotate it sideways.
thanks for the keyboard sound tests, picking one up to make keyboard vids
For me as I dont have much a budget for another extra accessories. If you really want to catch the great rich voice and mute button, go with Solo Cast. But the downside is it's $10 more than Razer and also the vibration (it will hurt you so much if you dont have boom arm as just a new streamer).
the audio quality from the solo is much more rounder than the mini, i might go with the solo now. tnx for the review!
I respect your opinion i love how unbiased it is but i think im still going to get the siren mini because of one the show built in and two i like the more bassy output
Thanks, looking for a mic to use for Teams meetings and sometimes with a camera. The test with the mics abit on the side was very useful.
The solo cast weakness is the build (shaking before settling down), especially when having it on your desk and typing (it picks up the vibrations). But it can easily be fixed with a solid boom stick.
I think the solocast sounds better in general as the sound is less muffled in the solocast whereas the Siren mini also runs a micro usb which is getting old these days, and it has a custom cutout, I don't like that so im going with the solocast.
Nice review, I was after a good distance test and your vid covered it perfectly.
I have the solo cast and I highly recommend it as it is is easy to use and it’s very simple, and for the price it’s an absolute amazing experience to use, thanks man
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! This really helped. I am planning to buy the solocast. It looks good and the reviews are pretty positive.
Glad it was helpful!
@@ECPUz which one has better sound quality?
@@Boostedtypist The solo cast, but with the extra sensitive sound means that it will pick up your keyboard and rumbles.
The test really sold me on the Razer, I don't want to put the Mic on a stand or arm so just having it in front of my Keyboard with that quality would be more than enough for what I need
So if u have it set on the table with no boom arm does the audio feel super far away or does it sound good?
@@saifullahshuja6316 It sounds pretty good.
good
@@saifullahshuja6316
I really do not care about a mute button, I have a discord deafen macro on my headset and in obs I have one of my mouse's side buttons to mute, so I'm gonna be going for the seiren mini
how did you get that deafen macro?
@@weiIand well if he's using a Logitech mouse like I am then he can just set it up in the GHub
there is a section in discord settings for keybinds
There’s also a setting in razers software I’m pretty sure too
can i use it for recording acoustic guitar covers . Of course, it's not ideal but is it better than a phone's microphone in this context? I'll mainly use this for zoom and voice recording.
thank your for the review, really helped me with selecting, i have a thick sturdy desk so i went with solocast
In my opinion the solocast was better until the Rumble and Vibration issue, plus Siren Mini isn't that bad due to the fact its small and easy to use on a boom arm without it covering more of ur screen and view
your video is very well organized
nice video and thank you for this effort
thanks man! great comparison video!
This is great comparison, thanks!
Both are great, I bought a different one but was considering the Razer for a while
The sound of the desk feedback while typing on the SoloCast would drive me nuts after a while, although I thought the general sound of the Siren Mini wasn't quite as good when just talking.
Just ordered the solo cast!
Great comparison, thanks
it would have been great to do a comparison with a boom arm setup to see the difference in vibration pickup from the solocast and see if you get a better sound from the seiren mini. Does anyone have feedback on the impact of using an arm with these two mics?
the solocast sounds less hollow so ima get it
With a boom arm the Siren sounds way better and warmer

not that its ideal for streaming ^^^
i was about to buy HyperX Solocast but i dont know if would these vibrations would be annoying what do you recomend me
Always so funny with these mic reviews its like they’re testifying in a court 😂
Did u edit your audio or use any app to edit your audio ? Mine is very quiet when I put my mic far without editting. Pls help
Quick question, if I use noise gate and voice limiter on the hyperx won’t it cancel out any bump’s or background noise? Thanks
I picked up the Siren Mini because at the time Amazon had a big discount on it. I only really use it for zoom etc, not streaming or making content so it’s fine. It sounds a lot better than gamer headset mics
how muc hwas it?
@@comestible6270 30-40, somehere around there.
does a mouse pad that covers the whole desk help with the vibration of the solocast? Another question is my floor is carpeted so would that help with the vibration lol
bro, thnx for this comparission video 🙌❤
now I am sure that i'm gonna buy Hyper X solocast (which I decided earlier though) 👍 it feels little vibs but acc to me sound was more good on it
Glad you liked the video! The SoloCast sounds better to me too.
Great video! Thank you!
Great review thank you!
I just bought the razer seiren mini and my voice sounds great! There is no background noise! I totally recomend it!
Good choice!
hey! do you know if there is a way to mute the mic, because that's kind of a deal breaker for me
@@darkorosqc990 it doesn't have a mute button but you can mute it from your PC, so it is not a problem for me
@Infrayous i didn"T even know that, thx!
@Infrayous how did u fix it?
A simple 2-3cm foam between mic and the table would completely resolve the boomy keyboard sounds that solocast is picking up as it is picking up the resonance of the table as well and it would sound identical in terms of keyboard boominess as Seiren so overall solocast is much better product as it sounds more natural and resolving while Seiren has built in compression (not sure it can be disabled) and it sounds heavily processed. This is bad because you can't "unprocess" a hardware processed microphone... While you can always process untouched microphone and tweak it with a digital compression to remove boomy keyboard typing etc and decrease noise floor by telling it to filter that out.
No, no it won’t
@@Spetsnazty agreed
Thanks for pointing out the custom micro usb slot. That's important to me. I can't support any brand that are doing that nonsense.
which onne should i buy cuz
i have a very loud keyboard
rage a lot
and is there a mute button for razer mini as i say a comment about a 3rd party software?
I just got the razer seiren mini yesterday it’s amazing and for the solocast it made weird thumps and noises when typing. The solocast was also echoing a little bit
If I connect any one of the USB Mic to my laptop...Will the performance of the mic drops?
Already got the solo cast, I gotta say, get it, the mic quality is sooooooo good to your ears, it’s built very well, you won’t regret :)
Nice! I agree, it sounds really good.
Cype, the type song on him, isso very high? I want him but.. worry about my blue switch
can you use it for PS4?
How about background noise? I don't care much about vibrations because it would mostly be used to record and not be used live while streaming or something.
@@MoonOvIce it really isn’t bad
This is exactly the video I was looking for.
Hi! Which one you think is good for ASMR videos?
Hyperx is 10x better with sound and the extra features but the razer is soon clean😫 (still definitely get the hyperx)
Get attracted by the cute seiren mini! i wonder can it connect to handphone by using 3.5mm to usb or 3.5mm to micro usb adapter?
I cant decide between the AKG 120 and the
TONOR USB Microphone Kit Help?
I prefer the solocast because it sounds better normally, and I use a boom arm
I found this mic with the hyper x cloud core 7.1 for less than 100 dollars but I was just looking for a headset so this is just a bonus
Went for the Serien mini.Really need the stabilization and less background noise (two younger brothers).Plus,if I need to mute,I can just unplug the microphone.
You should try nvidia broadcast, it gets rid of background noises very well
Gr8 video, thank you!
To be honest I feel like the Razor sounded better when farther away than closer. Like when it was on the opposite side of your keyboard or by the monitor it sounded good, but when it was in front of your keyboard it sounded worse somehow lol.
It’s the muffling…
I think that's the downside of Seiren as Razer goes for compromises. If you want more BR Noise Reduction than the overall audio quality will be lower. That's why i prefer microphones without built in BR Noise Cancellation. This feature reduces the audio quality.
Jesus loves you alot trust in His death 4 salvation and be saved from eternal hell
so when i talk to my friends on discord will keyboard sound will appear? and which mic should i buy so keyboard sound dont appear
Which one is better these two or fifine k678 🤔
I got the Solocast, vibrations are an issue but other than that I am happy
Seiren mini sounds great close up with boom though
can you take the stand off to attach it to a boom arm?
I just made a video unboxing the mercury version of the razer mic and cant wait to use it in future videos! :)
Nice video!
hey, just passing by, good review good content
I have the Seirin Mini and have it in the most ideal position (boom arm about 5 inches from my face) and it sounds amazing.
Good video though.
Which boom arm do you have?
If your judging weather the mute button but in razer synapse you can make a key for mite
Hi there, I'm considering the Solocast or Razer Seiren Mini. The Solocast is better in every aspect however the vibrations it picks up seems to be a big issue. If I dont have a boom arm, would you recommend solocast or the seiren mini?
if u dont have arm then seiren mini cause of vibrations on solocast
Just buy the Solocast and a boomarm, u can get really cheap ones, then u have an amazing mic
great video, thanks
Can we just talk about the shake on the solocast when he typed
Boom arm can fix that
@@jeheysii1 Didn't fix it in another review I watched
heard some vibration when you started typing on the keyboard with the hyperx solocast
Is it possible to add the Solocast to the Rode psa1?
I prefer the sound quality of the solocast but I type a lot and I don't want to buy a new stand so I prefer the razer siren mini for it's shock mount
just bought the siren mini, thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
A huge store in my country started black Friday and the hypercast Is actually cheaper than the razer mic for 5 euro, razer 39€< hypercast 34€, didn't knewed witch one to choose, everytime I play CSGO my teammates say my mis is horrible so I can't wait for my new hyperx mic
I got the solocast just because its intensely bass boosted its absolutely hilarious to listen to lol
reason i went with the seiren mini is because the solocast picks up a lot of vibration noise and the mini doesnt near as much.
that solocast sounds so much fuller and less harsh
seiren mini!! it has a internal shock mount, my setup is minimalist and i can have a ugly mic setup like a boom arm on my desk. tks about the video!
Great review!
i am in the tought of getting a new mic i think im gonna chose the hyperX becouse im gonna be using it with an arm. And as i listen to it i hear that its a little bit clearer than the razer
For $50, the siren mini picks up much less vibrations. The audio quality is a little worse, but for me i need a mic to talk with my friends. I think the mini is a better choice based on the comparison in the video. Thanks so much man!
Thanks for sharing! Glad I could help!
I prefer the richness of the Solo cast. At least that's the impression I get
4:49 you can hear the vibrations from the keyboard through the stand, thats a problem
I wonder which mic he had used to record the video there is to next to each other any guesses?
well the solocast's mic led is red when turned on, so he used the seiren mini
Buying Seiren Mini right now. Would've competed better if you used a boom with the mini. The stand on the mini is too low especially for the desk you used.
here in 2024 we have razer synapse which is the program for the razer mini in this video. If you go to controls or whatever it's called, you can change a key bind for the mute button to a key on your keyboard a mouse if you have a razer mouse, but it might work with any mouse (I haven't tried this so tell me if I'm wrong)
Second, I love these videos even tho I dont need a mic
Glad you like the video!
@@ECPUz :)
@@ECPUz huh
Thank you good sir
what is the difference between solocast and quadcast?Whcich one have a better sound performance?
Well people are going to say the Quadcast but at the end of the day the only difference is really just the pickup patterns so it comes down to what you're looking for. Solocast is just Cardioid meant more for 1 person so gaming and streaming while Quadcast can be for picking up an entire room and such.
what is direct line pick up?
i can't choose between the solocast ,Pyle PDMIKT140 Kit and seirin mini because the siren and the Pyle PDMIKT140 Kit don'T have a mute button, but the solocast picks up a lot of background noise ):
wich one did u get?
@@aaa-vq8nm the solocast but as i said it picks up almost every background noise
Hi there! Very nice review about budget microphones. I look forward to buying the HyperX Solocast but I wanted to know the diameter so I can buy a shock mount for it. Anyways, thank you in advance! Keep safe!
The Solocast is about 50mm in diameter. Cheers.
@@ECPUz Thank you for the quick reply! Cheers!
I mean will discord noise suppression cancel out the vibrations for the solocast
If you buy a boom arm it will enhance the sound of the microphone and take away the thumping noises from your desk and keyboard
The razer seiren in my opinion is only better i think because it had the built in shock mount but I would still buy one for it anyway because I did still hear some vibrations. It’s worth spending 10-20 more bucks on a long time usage item so In that case I would recommend the hyper x mic
nah, razer siren mini solos tbh
5:56 that far off and *still* manages to pick up the vibrations from the key presses!? Damn that mic really needs an arm.
