Three funny moments in the pre-challenge strategy:
Doug: In Victoria’s season literally lasted three minutes. (Shoutout to Sabrina)
Victoria: What did you say about me?
Josh: If it does turn endurance Tim, Dain, and Santi can’t go forever. (Maybe Tim and Santi, not sure about Dain)
Nu-Chikasha seeing how heavy the weight is without Mike in the event he drops out
Mike (pointing to his muscles): You think all of this is dropping out?

damn, doug with 2 idols! i will say that i really admire his passion for the game; how others who searched for the idol came up short boggles my mind. if he gets to the end, he absolutely deserves the win. the music in the scene where he showed one of his idols to santi felt very winner-ish to me. i would like to see doug face some more adversity like he did w/ eric though, instead of this just being a march to the end for him. hopefully we get to see that -- maybe through sadie?

Not gonna lie, looking at this post-merge cast, I'm kinda underwhelmed lol. About as much as I was last season too. Because looking at so many of the people that made it like Amanda, Abbie, Tim, Dain, and Dale Aram, I admittedly have pretty low expectations lol. And it seems like Josh is now firmly a member of the Doug and Santi cult too. The only character I really have any faith in going into the merge is queen Morgan, so hopefully, she can turn things around in her and Ange's favor. I also feel that bit with Sadie might be some foreshadowing in her screwing Doug over down the line. Which I really hope happens as right now, outside of Doug and Santi, Sadie is the only one I feel has any chance in winning from an edit perspective. Based on the past couple episodes with how invisible Pascala 2.0 was, outside of Santi, I don't think anyone else over there has any chance of winning right now.
Tbh Mike surprised me this season. I felt like he was just gonna be that basic alpha male douchebag this season going in, which he was for the first 3 episodes in particular. But ever since then, he was kinda growing on me. Still somewhat of an ass at times, but he was also really social, had some great and funny lines, and was actually somewhat likable. Kinda reminded me of Chris Thomas 1.0. Had the swap turned out better for him, I felt like he could've had a similar redemption arc. Or at the very least could've made the merge more interesting. Not as sad to see him go as I was with Evan, Eric, Jasmine, and Liam, but was still kinda bummed to see Mike go.
So yeah, not gonna lie, I'm a little skeptical going into the merge. Just too many big characters have gone too early and I'm starting to fear this is gonna turn into a Ghost Island. Please prove me wrong, Anders!

SIGH I'm still waiting for a shake up but this season appears to be Doug's story no matter what. It's either the story of how he wins or how he loses the FTC, and I'm inclined to believe based on the narrative it's how he wins. I'm baffled every episode by just how easily manipulated people are by him. Cannot believe I'm saying this, but if the shake up comes in the form of Miss Amanda then let's get this shit started! Still have hope that Morgan and Angie can work something. Dale Aram, Dain, and Josh appear to be lost causes that never had great player potential to begin with so at this point they've devolved into Doug Puppets. I wish Sadie would do something but I really don't see that happening either, especially since Amanda will apparently be targeting her.

As much as I'm bummed with the outcome last week/this week, the points Josh made at TC were really on point, and Mike kind of put himself in the position he was in tonight. Chikasha-on-NuChikasha could have had lopped Doug's head off last week but instead they made a move to eat their own and Pascala-on-NuChikasha made a smart choice in exploiting it.

Another interesting episode of Survivor Maryland and I really noticed some interesting editing choices that could foreshadow some things for the future.
This episode really I think solidified for me that this is Doug's game to lose. He was already in a dominating position socially being well connected with almost everyone or if not directly connected to someone is connected through another person. Finding not 1 but both idols really just cemented himself in a crushing position to really dictate the early part of the merge to his benefit. The edit also seems to show how much of a crushing position he is in as I feel like every episode we consistently get his viewpoint which screams winner content to me but I am intrigued if that is an editing choice if say Doug somehow gets blindsided very late in the game say Final 5/4 or 3 (if a Final 2). He seems to be the main character of this story from what I've seen if not one of the most important.
I think Mike was doomed from the second Liam got blindsided. Between Josh and Mike I think the decision is obvious. He is not only the better competitor which is threatening in individual immunities but Josh has connections with Santi which I think could sway Doug. I do think if Doug took out Josh over Mike he could have cemented his position even further by taking out one of Santi's close allies and thus making him rely more on Doug but I get the choice with worrying about a potential Mike-Morgan-Ange connection and risking a resistance forming. Either way Doug is still in a crushing position. I also think what made me sure it was Mike was that shot of him putting out the torch after the challenge as foreshadowing.
The other key thing I took from this episode was the Sadie drama with Mike and Doug and potentially foreshadowing Doug turning on Sadie since she threw him under the bus to Mike. I really got that feeling even earlier when Doug revealed his idol to her and the line that stuck out to me was when Sadie said at least he wouldn't use it to get her out which I think could be foreshadowing that Doug uses the idol in some way to either directly blindside Sadie out of the game or use it in a way to leave her more vulnerable.
Ultimately coming into the merge I think it is Doug's game to lose with an outside chance of Santi but interested to see how this plays out.

Happy to see familiar faces from Gen 1 this episode, especially Austin!
The writing was on the wall for the boot, unfortunately. The only way Mike was staying to merge was if the tribe won immunity, which is one of the reasons why he looked pissed after they lost. Still, Mike tried his damnedest to stay in, just too little too late after last week.
Merge should start destabilizing the power structure. This ep dropped hints that Amanda is starting to lose trust in Doug, and Doug is also starting to question whether Sadie should be his number one or not. The preview also showed that the players on the bottom are beginning to compare notes and team up. Doug's still getting info though, which is crazy.
Looking forward to some fire post-merge eps!

the fact that doug is easily the person to root against but if he somehow wins then he’s the best winner in maryland but i’m just praying he gets at least some obstacles in his way and see if he can maneuver himself out like he did with the chris blindside 😩 something tells me sadie (and to an extent i think morgan will notice too) is gonna realized doug is powerful and will possibly try to blindside him but with dougs connections it’s obviously gonna get back to him and possibly use his idol it’s so annoying 🙄 hopefully he becomes the second person in survivor history to go home with two idols pls 🙏🏼

Crazy how two weeks ago it seemed like the 3 girls and Liam were getting ready to run the game!
That being said, I think there’s no chance Doug or santi win, unless they play an insanely dominant game and take out any possible detractors (ange, Morgan, dale aram). For some reason I still feel really strongly about a girl, specifically Ange or Morgan with Sadie and Amanda as long shots, being the winner.

I cannot stand Doug. He’s getting a very good edit (although, it could be argued that he is doing the most confessional and group videos), but I, unfortunately, agree that this is his game to lose. Two idols and literally everyone except maybe 4 people that want to work with him/are working with him... I hope Sadie is the one to turn on him and send him home. I can’t picture it being Tim or Santi.
I hope Ange can do something to better her position. Losing two of her closest allies back to back. She’s the one I’m rooting for most. I wish Abbie was more inclined to play the game. She and Dale Aram have a lot of power together, but Abbie is just doing what Dale Aram does and Dale Aram is just doing what she’s told to do (by Doug). I forgot Dain is still in. I did like him until the swap and then I pretty much forgot he was there.
This is by far my least favorite season of Survivor Maryland (so far) with the most unrootable cast IMO out of the seasons I’ve seen. So many people I’m rooting more against than for... I’m definitely gonna keep watching though!
