  • In this video we are showing you what we did back home in New Zealand preparing to walk the Cotswold Way. The Cotswod Way is a hike through one of the most beautiful parts of England. Come with us to see how we prepared to walk the 164km or 103mi from village to village through this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walk was organised for us by Macs Adventure.

Lots of cool tips on this. I increase my daily walks to prep for my Monte Cristo hikes. In fact, I need to get out there and start prepping for it since that hike is coming up soon!
    Nice rainbow at the end!

Monte Cristo sounds interesting. Is see there is a ghost town there. Will you be filming it?

@@GeoRick I plan on it. Cache Canada is wanting to join too! 😸
I do have videos on prior hikes to that location.

I just checked your playlist. Yes I remember it now the one with the large sign. Nice location.

The Cotswold Way walk features some incredibly steep hills, but I can assure you that each step is worthwhile for the breathtaking views you'll encounter. Additionally, there are some stunning places just off the beaten path that are well worth the detour. There are some stunning little country pubs and village shops that are well worth the detour. You'll discover that the locals are quite eager to sit down and discuss the history and the area if that interests you. I hope you encounter favorable weather, and I look forward to witnessing the incredible journey you are about to undertake.

Thanks appreciate your comments. We spent a few days in the Cotswolds some time ago so couldn't wait to get back and take a proper look at it.

Useful tips indeed! Now that Lola cannot move as she used to, we have had to adapt and change our walking habits. Slowing down is a must! As they say in Italy "piano, piano si arriva lontano" (slowly, slowly you get far!)

Very helpful info. Could have used it before our trip to Guernsey last year. What was your average daily distance on the walk? Did you ever use the first aid kit? Looking forward to the next few videos.

Thanks Catherine glad you found it useful. The first of the walk videos goes up on RUclips the day after tomorrow. The longest day is 23km the average 16km. We have not needed to use the first aid kit but that doesn't mean we had no problems! Guernsey sounds interesting would you recommend it?

@@GeoRick Absolutely. For the geocaching and for the history. We went at the end of May. Kids still in school, so less busy.
