Humans aren't even nice to each other. That's what Magneto understands, having been persecuted in the past not even as a mutant, but as a person who was just different. How can you expect humans to accept mutants when they can't even accept each other.
Having her eyes linger on his WW2 "tattoo" was a powerfully subtle moment. I imagine that's when she had her "are we the baddies?" moment.

Family is a choice. When Nightcrawler said this he summarized what the X-Men is all about. They are more than a team. They are a family not by blood but by choice.
Kind of scary how realistic Bastion's plan is.
Make a disaster > pour it over everyone on Earth > make them develop a tolerance for these events > make them not care about the people affected > keep on destroying the target demographic as the rest of the world just doesn't care.
Like goddamn this show has a sense of realism that very few other shows are able to show off so well, ironically

This episode was incredible! That was only Part-1 of 3?!?!? I can't honestly contain my excitement for the next two episodes over the next two weeks! The team-ups, the action, the music, the dialogue, the animation, the Easter Eggs, the cameos, and the respect for the comic book source material and original 90s animated series that inspired it all was absolutely perfect! I'm honestly ready to say that this is my favorite project Marvel/MCU has ever done 10/10 episode! I can't wait for next week!

One thing I loved about this episode that I haven't heard pointed out was that when faced with an absolutely overwhelming situation, the X-Men stayed calm and dealt with things competently. Even Nightcrawler, who had essentially retired from fighting, became a cold-blooded killer when the situation demanded it. Almost makes the Danger Room a character of its own. Being able to prepare for everything really is what makes the X-Men special. The mutant powers are just an added bonus.
True. We see justice league and titans use their training room occasionally so that they're ready for any scenario. But we don't see many marvel characters use training rooms besides the xmen. So it adds to their competence as fighters.
I remember a panel in a Fantastic Four comic when Storm briefly joined the team along with her then husband Black Panther where the team (Storm, Black Panther, Human Torch, and Thing) had to run on foot. The Human Torch had to be carried by the Thing because he couldn't keep up with the rest. He was so surprised to see Storm keeping with the other two with enhanced endurance which prompted her to say something like, "clearly you haven't trained with the X-men". Just shows the X-men don't kid around with their training.
Funny you should mention the Danger Room being it's own character. Lol

X-Men have always represented humans who are “other” and marginalized. It’s timeless and why I have loved these characters since childhood.

The Wolverine and Nightcrawler fight was amazing (that view within Kurt's bamf was such an inventive visual kick), the Summers family bonding moment was legendary, but the scene of Val Cooper's speech with Magneto pulling the plug on Planet Earth was epic! "ENOUGH!" indeed!
It's a little sad that we only have two episodes left. Hopefully, they can keep the momentum going for the next season!

Your guys’s convo at the end reminded me of one of the og episodes the show runner suggested to rewatch. In the ep master mold kidnaps world leaders to switch their brains to computers. And when trask tries to stop mastermold says something along the lines of “mutants are humans so your plan to exterminate mutants isn’t possible”
Master Mold in the comics came to the same conclusion when he started going after humans and trying to replace the presidents brain with a robot one. When he was told to not attack humans but go after mutants he responded, "Mutants are humans."
Beast mentioned kamar taj which is possible dr strange appearing...spiderman cameo, dr doom appearing, i mean who else i appearing in the last 2 episodes...excited for the last 2 episodes!!

I loved the speeches by both Kurt and the UN lady at the end.
This is literally Magneto's plan from the first movie combined with nanotechonology to make humans into sentinels.
In one episode we got the deadly tag team of Nightcrawler and Wolverine, the Summers Family fighting a horde of Prime Sentinels, Bastion’s on screen debut as one of the the biggest and most formidable villains in Marvel history, Magneto proving again why he’s one of the most OP characters in comics history, and Charles Xavier ending the episode with “To me, my X-men”.
*AND THIS IS JUST PART ONE!!!* I don’t know if we can handle parts 2 and 3.

The Wolverine/Nightcrawler fighting…the animation…the storyline…holy smokes this finale is gonna be EPIC!! Shout out to the animators for finally showing the effects of Nightcrawler teleporting…that was the best!!! And Nightcrawler fight8ng with three swords…damn that took me back to his late 80s solo comic with the little BAMFS. Man as a comic collector for over 40 years and a huge X-men fan I’m loving this! Especially since this was one of the last Saturday morning cartoons I watched. Special shout-out to the animators for their nod at an old X-men cover, back when they faked their own deaths through the Siege Perilous and were living on the Australian Outback. The Reavers crucified Wolverine on a big X just like Bastion did Magneto in this episode. Damn this show has my comic nerd/enthusiast bursting outta my skin! 😂. Oh wait…don’t forget…SPIDER MAN showed up!

Film is the hardest artistic medium to work in because it is so logistically complex. It takes so many people and so much money to make even "small" projects that just by law of probability things will not work out perfectly most of the time and most projects end up as just "ok" at best. Making exceptional films or tv shows is a truly titanic feat and requires not just all the right people, at the right point in their creative lives, be in the right place at the right time but also for it to release at the right moment to connect. The MCU had developed the machinery and culture to routinely hit these projects out of the park for a very long time but that success belies how difficult that was and how easy things can change.. The current MCU being increasingly hit and miss is no conspiracy, it's just the reality of the complexity of the medium hitting after the structure of the machine making these projects got retooled and futzed with by the drastic changes Chapek made during his tenure as CEO of Disney.

LMAO, but on another note, Xmen was a reflection of the civil rights movement with Xavier being MLK and Magneto Malcolm X analogies back in the 1960s. But yes, the writer wanted to portray what your friend said too.

But yeah, the queer allegory works really well, especially since mutants can literally be born to any family, much like queer kids. And Roberto’s story in this show is pretty explicitly meant to evoke a queer kid coming out to their parents.

For me Wolverine and Kurt. Being that one does not always follow the orders of others. And another one in essence being that he sees everything in a more opportunistic way. They are that now they see in a moment, leave everything to do greater good. And willing to give everything to make a real fight happen.
And they have to know that they can if the situation escalates. But they try not to make it worse. Being when they decide not to do it. That shows the great work of writing good characters. And don't leave them all the time just go through them quickly.👍😁😁
The fact that the Human Sentinels can reattach themselves shows just how unstoppable and prepared Bastion is. He's one of the smartest villains I've seen.

Magneto did this in comics and people tend to gloss over he just killed thousands maybe millions of people.
Every plane fell to earth, every hospital lost power, every traffic light causing God knows how many accidents. So yeah, Wolverine was 💯 right and this was a massive declaration of War.

16 million mutants were killed in Genosha in the comics, and humans and the governments stood by and did nothing. Don't gloss over that either
So if I'm not mistaken; Jean uses one of Rachel's powers in this episode. The psychometric thing she did with Bastion's drawings felt like Rachel's time displaced telepathy.

Jean's powers have always included psychometry (the ability to read psychic impressions off objects/environments). She's done it in multiple times in the comics, and she just did it here in the animated show in the previous episode when she was overwhelmed by all the lingering last thoughts of everyone who died on Genosha. Rachel's chrono skimming ability is different, where she is able to send her astral self forward or backward in time.
That global EMP wiped out hospitals include millions of people connected to life-saving medical equipment.

The reason why Marvel is back again because of good X-Men content. Deadpool's reputation is still solid for movies like deadpool 1 and 2. And a dead show that everyone liked finally comes back with a cohesive story makes people go back to Disney plus. I still stand that the MCU is meh. Even the good ones like ironman and captain america films all blend the same killing the big bad and be the better you. But this is solid stuff. And yes, before this and deadpool 3. Marvel content was dead on the ground for a moment for its films. Doesn't mean all of their stuff is like that. I still like earth's mightiest heros and I still do to this day. Old, offensive (which it isn't), or whatever others say about it, that's my go to marvel content.

n one episode we got the deadly tag team of Nightcrawler and Wolverine, the Summers Family fighting a horde of Prime Sentinels, Bastion’s on screen debut as one of the the biggest and most formidable villains in Marvel history, Magneto proving again why he’s one of the most OP characters in comics history, and Charles Xavier ending the episode with “To me, my X-men”.

Called it on Val Cooper. She tried to approach Magneto at the Gala to tell him something but he dismissed her. Then she is seen running with mutants as they being deleted around her. In the next scene she was absent. After Cyclops randomly brings up to the POTUS that no one could find Val Cooper. They just dropped it and moved on. I knew they couldn't have inserted that for no reason.
Speaking of the "best theme song" I loved the little nod to the composer of it and Power Rangers, Ron Wasserman in which Wasserman's is the name of the clothing store Jubilee and Sunspot shopped at.
'No my friend, NEIN/NINE' the word play in this is pretty cool.
