Doom! But that Machine Man toy/robot among Bastion's childhood stuff (near his Stark Expo poster/flyer) was pretty neat too.
I refuse vehemently to subscribe to corporate run streaming services, but i will pirate this series before watching reactions.
If they have an X-Men '97 panel at Comic Con, I'll be surprised if every second question isn't "When are we get an animated series for X character?"

In one episode we got the deadly tag team of Nightcrawler and Wolverine, the Summers Family fighting a horde of Prime Sentinels, Bastion’s on screen debut as one of the the biggest and most formidable villains in Marvel history, Magneto proving again why he’s one of the most OP characters in comics history, and Charles Xavier ending the episode with “To me, my X-men”.
*AND THIS IS JUST PART ONE!!!* I don’t know if we can handle parts 2 and 3.
This episode had it all. Great action, great performances, great animation, great writing, great music, great cameos, and great Easter Eggs. I said the word "great" way too much in this comment, but that's just how the episode was. This show is incredible!
Yeah, cable said a utopia for humans because they made all surviving mutants slaves.
The cameos galor with Doctor Doom, Zemo, Madam Hydra Spiderman TAS, Silver Samurai, Omega Red, Polaris so good. You had again connection to One Mans Worth with conmecting Bastions origin with him being a fusion of Master Mold and Nimrod.

Family is a choice. When Nightcrawler said this he summarized what the X-Men is all about. They are more than a team. They are a family not by blood but by choice.

That global EMP wiped out hospitals include millions of people connected to life-saving medical equipment.
Yeah it's been said that EMPs are not clean weapons in that regard.

Magneto at that point doesn’t give a single f about human anymore
not to mention probably airplanes crashed and nuclear plants cooling back ups need to kick in immediately ... that was a boss move but just shows why governments want to shut mutants down.

Cyclops blue Porsche is a nod to X-Men 2 when Wolverine steals it.

That would make sense considering they all coexist. But given that only one of the cameos spoke at all, they're probably just there for fan service with no intention to really get involved.

Weirdly enough, if you look at the end credits closely, Doom isn't mentioned by name. Just as "Latverian OZT Member".

I loved how they matched Magneto's camp tattoo to how it's shown in the live action movies. Same number, same style, same location.
Also, Beast's map showing a lot of activity in NW Australia gave me a chuckle. Unless there are some major changes in their version of Earth, that's a lot of converted humans chilling out in the middle of nowhere.
I hope Christopher Daniel Barnes returns to voice Spider-Man

You had the original danger room training montage with Cyclops and Storm in the title sequence. Man Cable being Doctor Strange pulling 14000605 combinations. I think it's connected to the whole Beyond Good and Evil arc with Apocalypse and the axis of time. That's kind of the point of origin.
ive watched so many reactions to this espisode and it never gets old. This episode will go down in history as one of the best animated moments. Its so beautiful

You are damn right this show is everyone emotional.
Watching the episodes the director recommended to watch before this was so rewarding. It dealt with the immediate aftermath of the Days of Future Past 2 parter, the Asteroid M arc, life without Charles Xavier and everything about those episodes led up to the magnificent moment of "Magneto Was Right"
Numerous Marvel characters had cameos in the original series, but that was it.
It's still going to be an X-Men final battle for the last episode.
Val Cooper is definitely Val Cooper, unless Mystique's powers have evolved to remain undetectable by so many telepaths and olfactory sensitive mutants. No way even she would be apart of Bastion and Sinisters plans.
I suspect Bastion intended for Magneto to be released and conditioned him to do this. Have Magneto unleashed, forced into a world wide attack like this to disable the Prime Sentinels and then Bastion gets that as ammo to further paint the mutants as the villains to fully turn humanity against them. He can then follow up either with a newer model that's resistant to Magneto's power or maybe he's even able to turn other Marvel heroes against mutants and this sets up Avengers Vs X-Men.
Exactly what I thought. Magneto probably killed so many people you think of all the planes crashing on the next episode filled with innocent civilians. The Avengers are going to have to stop Magneto not knowing that Bastion is the mastermind(mold) behind it. But maybe they won’t do that here . I think they’re waiting for a big screen adaptation of that. But this will start the set up
By watching the episode. and give my opinion. It makes me let the visual spectacle, the characters that have appeared as the story progresses, make them more impressive and super memorable. And they manage to establish the balance that everything must be in a good frame. To put a degree of emotion, devastation, suspense, joy and an epic ending. X men without a doubt they have the best stories of all.

Sure we've had great Nightcrawler moments/glimpses before but this was the portrayal I've been waiting for since a child. The balance of his good heart, poetic dialogue with his ability to destroy. I finally got to see Wolvie and "fuzzy/elf" do to work.
Awesome seeing Doom and Zemo appear, but it got excited the most when Spider-Man appear. This was an amazing episode.

A previous episode finished with Bastion revealing he's repaired a satellite used for communication with the Shi'ar and shows that he has the footage of Xavier there. That's where it came from
Cant believe the voice of professor x is also in walking ded and voice of Red skull. His such a great actor.
This is not a comic book. This is a series where X-men can die. The stakes are higher and time travel is not going to be the solution. Sit back and enjoy the storytelling.

Showing how Nightcrawlers portals looked did two things. It was cool and it basically showed how it's not as over powered and he can't spam it. Going through them takes effort and moving those short spaces, think about how long he was in the portal.

Right after this ended I popped upstairs to my hobby room and assembled my recently purchased Marvel Crisis Protocol Nightcrawler. And yes, I did use his optional sword arms. How could I not after this episode (and his time as a Marauder)?

@themoviecouple Magneto is a true omega level mutant!! He is OP and I love it. Baiston is crazy getting that help from doom and all those others. He turned his whole hometown into human sentinels.(I felt bad for beast also,the woman he liked was a sentinel too)
They mean Bastion is a mutant in the classic sense of the word because he’s a human Sentinel hybrid that is an evolution from what came before. Evolution relies on mutations occurring (in addition to environment)
When you two do your full show/season 1 assessment, remember in practically every review one of you says "this episode" with exclamation and excitement.
13:07 important point with the family; Beast noted that Prime Sentinels are capable of reproduction, of establishing themselves as a species - but since only the parents transformed and not the children, this underscores that the Prime Sentinels haven't been arpund long enough to begin that process, and this is only just the first generation.
I think Val is the real one, Bastion would have clocked her. It looks like the piece of Nimrod that went into Bastion's father was from the 2 part episode from the og series One Man's Worth, when Storm and Wolverine went into the past to save Xavier from being assassinated.
I know they’re probably saving it for future seasons but imagine the final fight is just a bigass clusterfuck of superheroes AND villains vs OZT like a kid fighting his action figures together
So here's the fun thing about Bastion's origin: The chunk of Nimrod that found its way into that janitor, was from the episode "One Man's Worth" where Nimrod went back in time to kill Xavier when he was a college student, and Bishop teams up with alternate-reality versions of Wolverine and Storm have to save him (shown in the opening).
The woman that janitor marries is the Waitress in that same episode who gets Logan and Storm kicked out of the diner for being an interracial couple.
Talk about attention to detail!

So far this episode was the very best one . Episode 5 was great as well but this was INSANE! My girlfriend was like WTF ! And she doesn’t get that hyped up for this kinda stuff ! But this felt more like I was watching the start of the 90’s comic it was so flipping good and fricken Nightcrawler man . The best new edition to the show. When he was talking about family and then when it’s all out war . You see who he is fighting along side him . And who both of they are protecting . He is with his very best friend ….. Wolverine. If you read X-Men growing up u would know there Very close but yeah great reaction guys !
This episode was absolutely insane so many cool moments happened that just topped the previous one. I found it wild how Bastians hope for a better future because of humans fear mutants removing their humanity its quite manipulative i can't wait for next episode #MagnetoWasRight that was a bar 🎤 🔥

What i thought about this Episode of X-Men 97 was i enjoyed seeing Nightcrawler and Wolverine team up Taking the Prime Sentinels down one by one And i have to say that X-Men 97 is really and Truly upping Their game promoting these Episodes of scenes I've seen so far i Also like Fact that They decided put in the work Giving us cameos of Doctor Doom Baron Zemo Spiderman Silver Samurai and Omega Red i truly liked seeing those types of characters appear i really like what They're doing Especially at the End of Episode where Professor X makes An great entrance To me my X-Men where he Telepathically contacts Cyclops Jean Grey Storm and Beast which ended on a High note As our Cliffhanger for next Episodes to come.

I really don't think live-action format can capture the awesomeness of the X-Men. Which is why I think they should do what Japan does with anime and make animated movies that tie-in with the series. The animated movies would even expand the Marvel Animation Universe.
Val Cooper is a character in the comics so to me it never made sense for her to be Mystique she’s has value being Val plus it would’ve been a plot hole to make her Mystique. All the psychics would easily be able to know and wolverine would easily be able to smell her and know and the Sentinel that was identifying and killing mutants never said anything about her. Just another fan theory people ran with and I’m glad she is just Val

The Animators did an ERROR.....pause @13:50 and you see the two Prime Sentinel, the one with a black and yellow school jacket with the letter "P" on it and the bald head one with a goatee is where Jean, Scott, and Cable is at...But then @18:05 when Roberto and Jubilee goes into Roberto's mom's party for help, the two Prime Sentinel that was chasing them, are the SAME Prime Sentinel, black and yellow school jacket with the letter "P" and bald head with goatee...HAHAHH How is they end up chasing Roberto and Jubilee when they was spotted attacking Jean, Scott, and Cable????? HELLO????
I wouldn't be surprised if next week's intro we get to see Spider-man in it. Let's go!

To my mind, there's no reason Spider-Man shouldn't help the X-Men. We also saw Captain America i highly expect we'll get to see some more cameos. This doesn't just effect mutants, but all humans that are considered "different". Im so stoked for the last two episodes. 🤘🏻❤️

If it is Mystique she is really carry on the grift because she wouldn’t need a cast, her power would heal any broken bones but she’d have to wear it to carry out the disguise. They’ve changed how Bastion was created, in the comics it happened when he was older but in the show they’ve made it so that when Nimrod was destroyed in the original cartoon show, it’s surviving nanites infected Sebastian’s father and grafted to his DNA and then infected the unborn child he created with his mother. We’ve met Bastion’s parents already in the first cartoon series. They were bigots in the episode where Storm and Wolverine were a couple in an alternate timeline. The mother is the bigoted waitress that turns them in and his father is the bigot in the leather jacket they encounter. Sebastian was born with a hate for mutants because it’s encoded in his DNA from Nimrod and Mastermold before him. That’s why Bastion knows the future and the past, Nimrod was from the future and he helped create a future he wanted to come to pass by creating an evolved version of himself in a human skin suit. I loved seeing Juggernaut, wish he had got some hits in. If the Avengers ever show up and they go toe to toe with the Xmen, I need to see Storm take Thor on like in the comics when the Xmen went to Asgard. So much good stuff coming next two episodes.
