- Our newly built Jeep Wrangler, with its 426 Hemi & all new ADS Racing suspension, finally gets its first test run off road! The goal is to get the MBR internal bypass shocks dialed in as well as possible to get this thing prepped to perform on some insane rock crawling trails, in the desert, and on the road - since it's still a daily driven, street legal Jeep JL!

That dude was super cool and cool of them to let you through the shop. This was awesome to see, thanks for the video
One of your best videos ever. Coming from motocross background tuning your suspension is one of the best things you can do to bring home the trophy.👍
Man I wish I had someone close to tune my coilovers! Can't wait to see what you guys add next.
Badass!! Answered all my questions I had for Chris at GSMJI about them. Added this company to my list for future projects!!😃
Stepchild is there. Just go rippin now. Test and tune. Break and fix. Lather rinse repeat. 😂
Y'all are such an awesome bunch of goofballs, Awesome Karma out to you all, and ADS, you have some wicked sick shocks Dudes 🤘😁
@6:28 Chris gets it! Much love and respect for getting it done right here in the good ole US of A!🟥⬜🟦
When you have the money and you want to do it right, go for it. That's the way it should be done. 👍👍
Was so fortunate to bump into Brittany and Kevin on Friday at Trailhero to discuss this ADS shock set-up. They were so kind to take time to talk to me about their experience with this new set-up and went WAY beyond just talking about it. Kevin was SO nice he took me and my wife, she had a heck of a time getting in the back seat I'm sure it was because of the angle of the jeep 😂. Kevin took us for a quick ride through a sand side road along the main road in the Sand Hallow. It was an amazing experience and complete eye-opener. We may or may not have gone 2X the speed limit if on pavement which was only a few feet away. But wow definitely like floating on a cloud. So darn appreciated the generosity both Kevin and Brittany shared with us. I winter 40 miles from ADS manufacturer and will be buying shocks from them in a few months. Thank you Lite Brite!
Was great to meet you guys!
Pretty complicated, but if they work, can stand up to Kevin's driving and you like them, then they're worth the cost. Happy Trails to all at LBN.
Tucson... Tyler and ADS!!! Can't go wrong.
Amen to that love everyone at ADS
Ya'll should do a video on evolution of step child. Like why you ran, was it 6 packs? and then switched or why milestar to nitto etc. For business/sponsorships, better function? Why didn't you go Bilstein on the step child?
Unfortunately, Bilstein doesn’t make anything like this for a Jeep application. And packaging both a bypass shock and a coilover on each corner simply wasn’t working & would require that we compromise on the performance of the build. We also don’t work exclusively with any shock company, which allows us to choose the best product for our intended use and purpose. 😊
Cool stuff guys and nice to see you upgrading but I gotta ask, what happened to Bilstein?
We still have bilstein on the Supra and the buggy. We’re not in contract with anyone for almost anything. We like to choose what we want to run on what vehicle and not be tied to a specific company. We want what is best for our purposes and intended use. Bilstein has been around a long time and makes great products but this time around we went with a company whose main and only focus is in the Offroad world and Offroad racing. The specialize in this and really are at the top of their game! Nobody pays us to be exclusive with them and we like it that way so we can always be honest and run what we want to run on what vehicle we choose.
I'm so happy to see you guys in the StepChild!!! I love learning about the new products that you guys run. Brittany, it looked like you was biting your tongue a bit 😂. Great video guys ❤️❤️💯🤙
And at the end, Chris takes the words right outa my .... vocabulary! Y'all are so much fun, even make shock tuning sound exciting and interesting. Of course, Brit's outfits help...! Kev, we all want you to jump StepChild because its not our money and repair work. MaverickR? What fun! LiteBriteNationSuspendsReality!
😂not our money thats funny.. ..... because it actually is
I am here to petition for a new LiteBrite feature in your videos.... The Innuendo counter: with bell. 😂
43" tsl stickys would look absolutely sick on that jeep!
They would for sure but would limit up travel and slow the jeep way down due to the weight. The main goal of the stepchild is to do everything at high caliber. Anything bigger than a 40 and you start to tip the scales away from the fast stuff
This video is awesome. So cool to see the shop & a group of people proud to build in America with such a high quality product! Thanks for sharing all the great info
Been sayin for years Tyler is literally the man!! ADS on our long traveled 4Runner and it’s amazing 😭
Bore size matters also, too big of a bore means then shaft is loosey goosey.
Hahaha. Good one!
**viewers advice** first 20' of this video is advertising. After that, niiiiiceeeee !!
I need those now...
I don't have a Chris... :(
I’d talked to Tyler and he is a major help. Great guys over there at ads
@LiteBrite should have let me know you were in TUCSON..... could have met and went to dinner.... my treat :-)
What good spring travel and shock rates will do for the fun-factor‼️🚀
It is great seeing lite brite getting back to what got you where you are!!! Making Step Child one bad Bi**h!!! Look forward to seeing you get in the rocks!
I'm not sure how you can tune with tires at full pressure. I'm not a shock tuner, but I have felt were the tires absorb too much motion, so the shocks were too stiff. In that vehicle, increase the tire pressure made the vehicle ride softer, as it made the shock work. The soft tires caused the rate of compression to be too slow to break the shock lose. Having felt how tire pressure affects the balance between the shocks and suspension, it seems it would be impossible to tune it. From that and my motorhome with FSDs, I've learned how the shock is mostly balanced to the spring rate and unsprung weight, rather than the vehicle weight. Really the shocks only job is to prevent suspension overshoot, not to control the movement of the vehicle.
This has to be one of your best videos, in terms of humor and technical information. Thank you! I'm still cracking up at some of the stuff you guys said. lol!... Also, early in the video you mentioned the saying (jack of all trades) most people know this saying as 'jack of all trades but master of none" but there is another part that usually people don't know about. Here it goes: "Jack of all trades but master of none but still better than a master of one" 👍
When you jumped it the axles had so much travel it looked like they were falling out. lol. It's awesome!
I’m just like Kevin, I want the biggest OffRoad vehicle but also I want it to drive like a Cadillac, glad you make these videos were I learn what I need to buy to make it happen 👍👍
Man how I missed y'll's videos with the step child. Looking forward to the next and I think I'm sold on the ADS also. Now to learn how to tune them.
Pretty soon the StepChild decals are going to be the only original part. Great progress, she’s only getting better ❤
Holy crap!! Nice shocks!! ❤
So cool to see how it all comes together. Take care God Bless.
Great video thank you!
Very cool
Good morning guys and gals , love your channel and the progress the Step Child has seen !!!
You guys need to wheel AZ. Tucson has some amazing trails right on the edge of town!
MORE SHOCK VIDEOS😂 i loved this video, i mean i love em all but this is sooo cool
those are Massive!!!!! The shocks....
Leave it up to Lite Brite to just be so original. Tyler's such a cool name haha!
Hell yeah guys! Get 'R Done! 💪🏻🤟🏻
Love it, love it, love it!!
I see a full race cage in the future!
Living your best lives!
Wow, extremely impressive and you gotta love the quality control and passion put into creating these parts. 👍🤯.
Hi guys sorry for my confusion, honestly I am new to all this, never been interested enough in a channel to make comments and suggestions until now after watching 4yrs of litebrite in a matter of 1month. You kinda got me hooked. Lol. Anyways I just wanted to confirm that I sent my message to the right place on telegram? Is telegram linked through you tube or did you mean telegram the app? I was hoping on having a discussion a the new 2024 jeep willys. 😀🙏
Oh you came to my neck of the woods!
cheers..
Hello from Tucson love it much wuv
I kept wait for him to say “Whaaaat!!! No way!! fucksake!!!”
I’ve personally been putting shafts in bodies for about 20 years now! 😂
OUTSTANDING VIDEO - IN MY HOME STATE GOD BLESS
OH yea the old back breaker can am X 3. They scoop the ground after a jump.
I'm guessing the honeymoon with Bilstein is over? It's ADS now? Like the tires? Patagonia to Nitto? Good thing I don't buy what you are sponsored by. LOL Cool place!
We’re not in contract with any company for almost anything. We like to choose what we want to run on what vehicle and not be tied to a specific company (or forced to lie to our viewers). We want what is best for our purposes and intended use. Bilstein has been around a long time and makes great products but they don’t make anything like this for a Jeep application - so this time around we went with a company whose main and only focus is in the Offroad world and Offroad racing. ADS specializes in this and really are at the top of their game! Bilstein (like Milestar or Nitto - since you brought those up) does not pay us to be exclusive with them and we like it that way so we can always be honest and run what we want to run on what vehicle we choose. If you’d rather purchase/use products run by influencers who are contractually required to lie & hide issues, that’s totally your prerogative! 😊
The step child doesn’t have a cage “YET” lol
Definitely a awesome build 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kevin! Can you handle the stroke? Let alone the rebound post compression? Naughty
😂😂😂
Shocks are to dope. Won't let it jump
Very shocking content, I feel like I absorbed a lot of Knowledge from it.
What about Bilstein ? They were such great supporters of the channel and makes great products , i have them on my jeep because of you guys..
I was wondering the same thing.
Unfortunately, Bilstein doesn’t make anything like this for a Jeep application. And packaging both a bypass shock and a coilover on each corner simply wasn’t working. We didn’t want to compromise & we don’t work exclusively with any shock company, so we went with the best we could find. 😊
Do you still work with Bilstein on other vehicles?

@@LiteBrite Got ya 👍 was just curious myself 👍
Damn you guys were in Tucson 😢😢
As a regular off road Jeep owner this is awesome, I jus wonder what the cost is.
For a regular off road enthusiast, these would be way overkill (both in performance, fabrication to make them fit, and financially). But they have plenty of suspension options that would probably better match both the intended use & the budget.
So, obviously y'all chose ADS over Bilstein. Does this mean y'all are no longer working with Bilstein? And is the ADS product really superior??
I ask this because ADS seems to be such a tiny business compared to Bilstein and other "leading" manufacturers...🤔

@LiteBrite
this is why I love y'all sooo much. I'm not even done watching y'alls video, and my direct questions have been personally answered in detail. This is rare! I thank whoever this is for answering my questions!
I'm in the process of planning my third evaluation of my Gladiator suspension, I'm currently running Fox external bypasses, and I honestly love them for what they are. However, I want my Gladiator to be more of a jack of all trades, similar to Kevin's driving habits. But, not to the build extent as the stepchild. I have decided to go with ADS this time.
Thanks for everything / all the info y'all provide! 💚
You’re very welcome! 😊🤙
How does he know? "driving over a cloud of them"
Might as well go all out and put some portals on there too
Those shocks are sweet! Find a better jump and send it!
Yeahhhh!!! That’s awesome!
Wowzers!
I especially like this!
Wonder if i could get some made for my 05 grand cherokee 5.7 limited! Prolly not, lol. Awesome vid yall! Cheers
! You have one too?! Bilstein 5100s on mine, on 33x12.50s and 2" lift OME springs. I probably paid less for my shocks and tires than LBN paid for one of these shocks!
@@trjnsd6874 yeah i live in Wisconsin so i do alot of woods rides and alot of mud! Runnin the stock rims wraped in BFG KO2S stock size (rk) gonna go to 33s w/ 1" wheel spacers and 2" lift. Cheers
Soooooo, no more Bilstein's then?
Unfortunately, Bilstein doesn’t make anything like this for a Jeep application. And packaging both a bypass shock and a coilover on each corner simply wasn’t working. We didn’t want to compromise & we don’t work exclusively with any shock company, so we went with the best we could find. 😊
Awesome ❤
Brrrrraaaapppp
Just awesomeness 👌🏼
Siiiiick!
Send it!
Instead of "Jack of all trades", you want "Master of all trades"!
Hi Kriket 😘
Welcome to AZ! Make sure to go hit backway to Crown King, and Terminator at Table Mesa 💪🏼
We’ve done backway to Crown King before I believe!
@@LiteBriteit’s gotten worse this past season, but if you want to try out some whoops. Head out flagstaff and hit the Cinder OHV park for the land of 1000 whoops 💁🏼♀️
( • Y • ) I agree with Chris!
Hay Kevin & Brit, have y’all considered entering in to the 24 hr Hell and back with Stepchild? I think you should.
We’ve been asked to go every year but nothing about being on a trail for 24 hours straight sounds fun. Just not my kind of party. Kudos to the people who do it but I like to have fun and not be tortured.
NICE!!!!
I've ridden my fair share of all these $10k suspension kits with coilovers/bypasses which are allegedly Spec tuned but rides like a bag of d**ks. You might want to keep it cordial & not say names but I have no problem saying it....Double Throwdown rides like complete ass. Recon DSS is barely any better. That's not to say someone like Accutune couldn't dial it in but it's a bit misleading when you're lead to believe that it's plug n play which is impossible given the broad range of builds.
@27:00 thats what she said
😂😂
😂 love your videos
What happened to Bilstein?
What happened with Bilstein did y’all switch shock sponsors???? These things are beast wish I could afford just a normal set of coilovers
Never were sponsors.
Wow you guys are awesome. Live the sound of the stepchild 😮
Nice
All the that’s what she saids!!!🤣🤣
All you need is a Chris. And RUclips money…. But that said, the ADS peeps seem like great people.
What frame paint does Chris use?
And then jump it farther 🎉
Didnt you put big shocks on the step Child before?
No where near this big. 😁
What springs would you recommend on a jeep jku
What does shock tuning typically cost? I’ve got king shocks and soon will be installing king coilovers and would love to get them properly tuned for me, but just wondering the average costs.
It honestly depends completely on the setup & how many hours (or days) a tuner may have to take to ride the way you want! If you’ve got Kings, hit up Phil (Liberty Mountain Fab) and he can probably give you an idea of cost!
👍❤️ #Jellynation
That thing needs to be lowered about an 1” o 2”
So no more bilstein? 😢
How does Kevin get into the jeep? Shit seems really high!
So just curious, what happened with Bilstein?
