Thank you for posting this concert. I can clearly hear
Terry playing lead guitar. What a great player he was.

WoW! This broadcast was on my wife and I's wedding day ... This year it'll be 33 years on Sept. 13th 2020 .... One of our favourite singers to boot ....

Found this on a Sunday morning during the COVID lockdown. Was totally transported to a more innocent time when this man’s music was perfection to me. Nice to realize it still is.

I had the pleasure to have witness one Gordon's shows at the Tennessee Theater in 1997...He stood solo and played a solid 3 hour show with one break! Such a great performance, Gordon didn't miss a beat!! The music world won't be the same when he's gone!!!

I have been off and on listing to his music , I've been stuck on for an entire month, just keep playing stuff while I work all day. None of it EVER gets old for me. I can hear every song a couple of time a day lol. Great singer, player and has a way of arranging music that makes it so pleasing to hear

Same and some of his songs like Seven Island Suite, the more I listen, the more subtle details each time and makes me realize more and more how good he is at his craft!

Without a doubt the most beautiful male voice i have ever heard, and one of the top lyricist .... One of the greatest performers ever. Love Gordon Lightfoot, his music has soothed me for a long time.

A great storyteller and artist. What a great concert. I would agree that Gordon was at his prime time to "be Gordon" at this time in his life. Thank you for giving us this treat.

He's in the moment with this performance. It's clean and pure with nothing else needed as is when the artist finds that perfect space where he really wants to share his stuff. This is a rare treasure that any serious Gordon Lightfoot fan needs to hear.

My introduction to Gordon was "Sundown" playing on the radio in 74 when I was 11. My parents bought his album for me for Christmas. I've been hooked ever since. Many years later I've attended at least 15 of his concerts. My favorite song by far has to be "Is There Anyone Home" then later on "Whispers of the North." I've grown old listening to Lightfoot, I can measure my life by when his album was released. I graduated the year before Dream Street Rose, married during East of Midnight, divorced when The Best of Gordon Lightfoot was released etc. Thankfully, for recordings like this, I can go back, and revisit those times as if they were yesterday.

Swamp Yankee Boy, I agree. 'Is Anyone home,' such a beautiful flowing work of art. ' Your loves return,' also. 15 concerts! Thats incredible. I was able to get his autograph and a handshake in 2011. I knew I loved his music back in the late 60's. Peter Paul and Mary, and Marty Robbins, did great things with his music. Glenn Campbell did a exceptional version of, ' The last time I saw her face,' with orchestra arrangement. Gordon Lightfoot: an incredible Soul. 👍🏻

James Lèves. Congratulations! I loved this mans music, I saw him in person
When he first came out, what awesome concert..A memory I will never forget..
I have ALL his songs...and I treasure them all! What a legend! I also have
A 12 string guitar, and guess what I play on it? I am now in my 60’s, Gordon
Is still touring at 80...amazing talented songwriter and guitar player...🌹🌹🌹

This is a fantastic "lost" concert -- thanks so much for posting it! Gordon was still in great voice in 1987, so this show stands as a fine example of a great performer at the height of his powers. In addition, the concert is unique in that Gordon didn't have his full band with him for this benefit -- no drums or keyboard, just longtime bandmates Terry Clements on lead guitar and Rick Haynes on bass. While Lightfoot fans love the full band sound, this sound is a throwback to Gordon's earlier 3-man-band days of the early 1970s, and these leaner arrangements spotlight the consistently fantastic work by Terry and Rick.

I saw him in concert for the first time in 1976 and many times after that. I came away thinking how someone could write and record so many beautiful songs and then preform them better then the records. I would see him again a month after he did this show. I treasure those day. Thank-you for sharing.

Know this or not, he had an angelic choir voice when he was quite young. I think he was about 10 yrs old in the recording I heard. This is a gem. Thanks for posting.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. East of Midnight is a good album, but his voice was starting to show signs of decline on it, and yet here it sounds as good as ever.
