Hello! So I made this last night for our anniversary. (It was the first time in 25 years I cooked on our anniversary, but with no dine in restaurants...) anyway, I used New York steaks as the filets were$20.00/pound. The steaks and the sauce were absolute perfection. My husband wanted me to tell you how much he enjoyed dinner. Happy New Year!
This dish ranks high on my top ten list of best things I ever ate. The gravy is indeed one of the best. My wife has made it several times now including a Christmas Eve dinner we hosted for family. Everyone raved about how good it was. Follow the recipe and don’t leave anything out. The combination of all those flavors is incredible. Highly recommended!

This meal made me reminisce about my years of corporate lunches before I retired. Your meal rivaled those one would find at any famous New York steak house. Brought back lots of memories. Girl you can cook anything. Your husband is a lucky man and you can see he appreciates you so. Nice to see a happy couple enjoying good food together.

Thank you so much for this recipe. I made this sauce today as a side to my mashed potato and eye fillet steak. It really was a winner.. even my 5yrold loved the sauce (and he hates mushrooms). Will make this again for sure. We didn't add the steak into the sauce to "heat up" again, just used it as a sauce on the side. Perfect. 😘 You are definitely my favourite cook because all the recipes I've tried have been easy and delicious at the same time.. 😘

You have revived hope w/in me that, "Yes! You can cook filets in cast iron at home." Thank you for doing this video. Hmmm, I 'll take steak rare, please. Love your videos.
Turned out almost great. Got my filets at Costco- they were HUGE!!! Also, never had brown / baby Bella mushrooms before. And I couldn’t find fresh thyme anywhere. So I used my dried. It looked close. It was good. But next time I will use smaller steaks and white button mushrooms. Awesome recipe. 😘

I made this today for a late breakfast early lunch. Really good. The sauce is now my go to gravy. I think I used a little too much broth because it did not thicken as much as I would have liked but still really good. Try putting the sauce on some garlic toast. 😋 Thanks for another great meal!

I like a 3 inch thick Porterhouse because it has a flete minion on one side of the bone and a strip steak on the other. I like it off the grill with barbecue sauce on it.

Looks wonderful. I feel I must say that pan searing does not seal in the juices, that is obtained by the resting. Pan searing triggers the Millard reaction, which gives it umami.
