@Rising General Well to put it another way, if I just wanna watch the OT only and not the whole saga, then I'll watch the theatrical versions with actors who were later replaced in the Special Editions. And when I do watch the whole saga, then that's where I'll watch the Special Editions so the OT's more in continuity with the prequels.

Actually, the reason James Earl Jones wasn't originally credited in the first film was cuz he personally requested he not be credited for voicing Darth Vader. He stated in an interview he just considered himself special effects when voicing Vader. But he was fine though when credited in the third film and then later the Special Edition of the first film.
No argument here. The story line came to a close, the characters all got closure, and no real plot threads were left dangling. Everything else is merely commentary and nothing more.
The credits were left unaltered from the 1997 Special Edition credits. Also, Ian McDiarmid replaced the original Emperor hologram in the 2004 release of Empire Strikes Back, but isn't credited. It still credits Clive Revill as the voice of the Emperor.

GOUT = George’s Original Unaltered Trilogy, as seen on the bonus DVD’s from the 2006 DVD release (itself taken from the old laserdisc editions). Essentially, it’s the original theatrical versions (excluding whatever minor changes Lucas made since the literal original theatrical prints played in theaters from 1977-83. Stuff like adding Episode numbers to the crawls, using tiny snippets and takes of dialogue from the 70mm prints, etc). In other words, none of the annoying CGI crap from the 1997-present Special Editions. Picture quality is not the best though, as they’re straight ports of the Laserdiscs, do not even true 480p DVD quality. The other non-blu Ray version’s are just fan restorations that as far as I know, are also based off the original theatrical versions. I forget which ones (all?) used actual film prints as their starting points.

(Though there’s a few story choices that I personally would’ve avoided, like making Anakin a kid in Ep I as well as this virgin birth savior, plus less trying to connect everyone from the OT within the PT, like Chewbacca and the droids).
