Eetu Palo no. I mean the prequels arnt good but if you wrote out a 2 page synopsis of the prequels they would sound awesome it's just the execution was poor. And 3 was actually pretty good. The clone wars movie is so shit. Everyone in the movie is cringe every line is cringy and the story is crap
I'd rank it above Attack of the Clones but lower than everything else. It was a good opening for the TV series that followed.

I know it has nothing to do with this video but as a huge fan of your videos as well as sharing many of your opinions, I'd like to hear what you think about my all time favorite Disney movie - Treasure Planet.
Whether it's a separate video or a part of "best old Disney movies" doesn't matter to me.
You said that some of the newer ones might be your all-time favorites but as you say that, I don't believe you've seen it.

In all frankness, I think TFA might even be worse than The Phantom Menace. The disappointment is almost as bad.

TFA was hot garbage and a huge disappointment to me.
All they had to do was try. They had unlimited budget and access to all the most talented people in the world. (They could have hired someone a lot more talented than Abrams) They could have hired anyone they wanted. They had one of the most engaged and dedicated fan-bases, built in. They had a universe that makes great storytelling easy. They had literally everything on their side.
There was no fucking excuse for the film they ended up making. If I wanted something that unoriginal I would have bored myself to tears reading someone's gawd damn fan-fic.
What got me most was regressing Solo back so that he was a pathetic old man trying to relive his glory days. Also, they pretend to have a strong female character but threw Leia (the actual strong female character) under the bus, making her into a doddering old woman who never accomplished anything.
I really expected Leia to essentially be Mon Mothma. I assumed we would start the film with a young new Republic having been built up over the last 30 years with Leia as sort of a George Washington figure.
I expected GENERAL Solo to be managing a fragile peace between the New Republic and the remnants of a shattered Empire, struggling to maintain a border region which resembles a powder keg.
I expected Luke, the new head of a fledgling Jedi Order working to recapture the best of what the order had been while learning the lessons of the past.
You know, interesting characters dealing with difficult challenges as the fragile utopia they have attempted to build is put in danger once again by the machinations of a jealous and vengeful empire. I expected to care about these characters and be invested in the world they lived in.
Instead I got an exhausting, boring, rehash of all the ideas I had seen before but done worse. More special effects, less talent. Just like the prequels.

A lot of the stuff added feels out of place and doesn't really work for me (Jabba in A New Hope, Greedo shooting first, Hayden Christensen as a ghost in Return of the Jedi)

Jar Jar was the outcome of George having a young son at that time, and to make the movie approachable and attention-keeping FOR his kid, he had a dipshit clown character thrown into nearly every scene.

For someone who isn't the biggest Star Wars fan(sorry if it sounds a little rude) you bring up some really good points with these movies. Keep up the good work!
Episode 3 is a masterpiece. Some scenes are definetely bad but the story as a whole is great. It does not reference the originals too much and the turn of Anakin is shown throughout the movie. Guess you need to be told everything all the time. Here is my list btw.

I think the list is in order of quality, not in terms of his favourites in order. Revenge of the Sith is the favourite to watch, but this person understands that it isn't the best in terms of quality or cinematography.
how can people like the force awakens i don't get it
yeah there is no jar jar binks and the cgi is better but that's it
worst villain in star wars history the plot is just the same as in episode 4 another death star just bigger
than the characters are all boring for example rry who can use the force perfectly though she did not know the force exists like for minutes ago
snoke is just the same as palpatine only that he looks like a child of voldermort and gollum
the script isn't really good and overal no character is really memorable like obi wan or mace windu
the lightsaber fight wad boring and pretty dump too because gaylo ren should have won against rey
captain phasma who looked cool barely in it and the dialogue beetwen fin (who can btw perfectly use a lightsaber though he hasn't the force) and poe damaron is maybe even worse than anakin's and padme's

i would rank it with 5 outta 10 before star wars 2 but behind star wars 1

Because it great had great acting, characters who are relatable with tons of personality, a fun and engaging plot, action which is well directed and always keeps our characters in the foreground, a great John Williams score, good humour, a great use of film techniques including sound, lighting, camera angles, mise en scene etc…A villain which is greatly developed and complex, great, timeless effects (minus some CGI), great atmosphere, great world building, great and interesting character motivations and character interactions, great pacing, letting the action be part of the story and tell it for us, great emotional drama and it was brilliantly edited.

Jakku was similar to tatooine, it was a big desert. But it felt allot different to tatooine. The landscape was different, the creatures were different. It was more remote, had a grittier feeling to it. Tatoonie was a very busy planet, full of towns, space ports, rocky cannons and moisture farms. Jakku was a vast sand sea with massive dunes covered with old rusting ships. The residents are much hardier and make a living scavenging whats on those ships just to earn enough food to keep them fed for a day. So when you look at it, there are plenty of differences that make them both unique.

Regarding Jar Jar, no, I don't wonder what 'everyone' was thinking, rather I know what Lucas was thinking. He had a young child during the creation of Ep1, and to assure his little kid could 'engage' with the movie, he threw in a dipshit clown character in the form of Jar Jar, to the everlasting detriment of the most beloved movies of all time, and the eternal chagrin that made legions of those selfsame fans detest and even ignore EP1/2. I don't know if there's a special circle of hell for the poor soul that agreed to play the character's in-camera reference, but there most likely should be.

6:10 "pretty awful" You had me onboard up until this moment. People who use this phrase about the Phantom Menace, and yes I know it's the accepted belief of many people yada yada, lose all their credibility. What about it is AWFUL? It's a superbly crafted adventure film with amazing costumes, beautiful locales and a resonant plot about democracy and its pitfalls along with the traditional themes of right and wrong, good and evil. The score is great, the action is great and the effects, overall, are great. To that discounts any film from being viewed as awful. it's another case of people being unwilling to let this film escape from the shadow of the original. At least it tried to. Disney didn't have the gumption to do that with the Force Awakens. They played it safe and made a lot of money but the only place its reputation will be going is down as people realise it offers absolutely NOTHING of its own. Meanwhile the Phantom Menace is being reappraised and like a fine wine it's only going to get better and improve with age.
To be honest, the only thing, to me, that is truly "awful" is George Lucas, considering he wrote and directed it all himself.
The rest is really just mediocre, except for some of the visuals and the music, which is unquestionably amazing.
