This is perfect primer material for Oppenheimer (or Barbie). On a serious note though, I really enjoy this vlog style video that gives a little more BTS of shooting and editing videos. 👍👍
I know a lot of people rave about aerochrome for the different colors of foliage. But for me, those deep _deep_ blue skies and water tones just slay me every time.
Those Portra 800 panos slapped harder than a dominatrix convention, exceptional stuff mate! Also loved your aercochrome stills, you've got that stock figured out nicely.
Love the variation in video format, as well as the xpan photos you’re producing here. Also, this really makes me miss living in NorCal. Thanks for the great videos as always.
Jason, I love the laid back vibe of this one. Your big journeys and road trips are fantastic, don't get me wrong! But I'm enjoying the cut back approuch to this one
Frank Lloyd Wright approves. In all honesty, your shots of Marin Civic Center are amazing, but the way you make a regular suburban neighborhood look dope deserves real props...and a flaming hot Mountain Dew.
At 20:13 I was thinking "huh, that reminds me of somethi-" AND THEN you pull up the exact thing lmao - nice. Cool shots, like chill vibes on this one, looking forward to seeing the next trip!
Marin County Civic Center is a Gem of Architecture design by the Master Architect Frank Llyord Wright - Your Xpan photos are so captivating and inspired- Glad to see through your lens that this building is still in such good shape and remain its origins in taste and form.
Housesitting with a dog is never housesitting, it’s dog sitting with accommodation provided. Even if you love doggos, it’s a slog at times. Those interior shots on Porta were gorgeous. The overcast Aerochrome shots were interesting, better even exposure and saturation but I was missing that rich sky blue. You should make the replacement Windows XP wallpaper available for download (for a nominal fee, of course. Baxter needs his snackos.)
Always a shiver down my spine watching you put the lens on, Im so precious with mine because I still use dslrs fairly often and don’t want to be cleaning my sensor
Great photographs man. Really nice aesthetic, you have really nailed shooting on the wide aspect ratio. As one of "them" I have been trying to justify getting a Sirui Venus 35 mm anamorphic lens to do a similar-ish thing, but have not yet succeeded.
Seawood Photo. Being from Michigan; where the camera shops of old are long gone - this place is so cool to me. In Michigan there's a guy that another guys knows who knows another guy that Mamiya RB67's. At Seawood a RB67 repair is a common thing. Northern California is great place to be. Also - I enjoyed your different format on this one. You haven't made a vid I didn't enjoy. Thank you. You've made many cups of coffee that much better, dude.
Whilst the vlogs or blogs style is slightly boring (or present a different angle on life) the X-Pan never disappoints.. Some fantastic images were captured in this video, good job Mr Jason. 😀
Awesome video! Liked the animation of the negative lab pro in the beginning of the shooting🔥 Thank you for showing us the burger wrap supreme tutorial lol
I sold my Mami 7 and bought a GF670. Best decision ever, fits in my coat pocket or the front zip pocket of my leica billingham bag. 6x7 everywhere, and a nicer lens IMO
What, no flaming hot Mountain Dew… the humanity! 😂 But seriously those were some nice shots. Loved the cow one. Looking at you ‘like what you doing there bud.”
Its honestly really tough to photograph well in downtown Chicago that isnt just buildings/ladscapes or just street portraits. I live here and have tried dozens of times. My best was from being in a highrise at sunset near the lake and taking a pic of all the enlarged building shadows on the water. But again that’s still landscape/architecture in nature.
I recognize that building its the frank lloyd wright expo building? It was used in the movie gattaca a lot. But it also reminds me of his office building in Kenosha/Racine. Its retro yet futuristic.
I'm liking the 21:9 or whatever ratio this is for a change - it's a better fit for my phone and my ultrawide monitor. It's kind of fun the ratios shift video to video though.
For stuff where I can't bring a full sized medium format camera but I want medium format I've found TLR's are a good compromise. I've found that they take up similar amounts of space as a 35mm slr. Their brick like shape make it easy to stuff into and pull out of a crowded bag since there's less stuff poking out to snag on. But a TLR and 6x6 isn't for everyone.
Hey Jason, I also got TSA Pre-Check very recently and it was delightful. Should we do a collab review on our TSA Pre-Check experience whilst syphoning Kool-Aid into our arms? (5'5" btw haha)
So a Compact 120 and fun camera to try is the Voigtlander Bessa II (it’s a 6 X 9 vintage folding camera with a color skopar 105mm f3.5 lens) I own one and I think it’s an excellent camera for the trip you described in your plan in this video 😁
Jason gave me a mini heart attack when he said 'Oh yeah I was gonna do a taste test', straight after talking about dog food
ive tasted dog food before 2/10 would not reccomend
@@Xin200O what flavour did you taste?
same
the fact most your videos are in the same ratio as the film you shot is so cool to me
Come for the X-Pan, stay for the tortilla folding technique
Yeah...the quarter folds with different things in each layer...that was a NEW one on me!!
The color grading of the video is just on point with the film photos, so seamless experience. Great work !!!
Jason, you may get kodaks attention quicker to bring back Aerochrome if you start drinking Caffenol on camera, or go on a hunger strike. Do it for us.

jason we need grainydays merch. i need everyone around me to know how insufferable i am!
I vote toilet photo print shirt
and jason you'd better ship that shit to EU as well
I need people to know how, okay, I am

Nice editing! Pure Chill.
Primer have been on my "to watch" list for a while. A sci-fi movie made on a $7k budget is enough to catch my curiosity.
Primer is a great example of story telling good enough doesn’t need millions of dollars to translate it to screen.
