Very excited to share this video with y'all. A homie by the name of Ashton (@ashton.film) recently reached out to me and asked if I'd like to borrow his Fujifilm TX-1 to shoot with. I happily obliged and took the camera on a family outing to Mt. Rainier and put three rolls of Portra 400 through the camera. This was my first time shooting panoramas on film and I definitely made some composing and exposure miscalculations, but overall I am stoked on these results. My inner filmmaker is quite obsessed with the wide format and it appears as though I will need to invest in a panoramic system in the future. It was a very long day of filming and shooting, but one of the best days I've had in a long time. Thanks again to Ashton for making this video possible!

Killed this one. The photos with the gentleman and his horses are soo good.
Thanks Trevor!
Best panoramic film video I’ve seen on youtube. Most other videos you’ll have to watch 5 mins of talking for one frame of photo. Thanks for all the photos. Great work
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
found out about your channel quite recently and ive binged all your videos, quality content, much love man
Thank you 🙏🏻
Best way to end this week-end! Wonderful and hearty shots, thanks for sharing us your strolls!

Haha thanks Rico. Hopefully prints soon! Cheers dude!
Loved this series! The random moments with strangers leading to photos are some of the more special moments of photography imo. Good stuff.

Another great video Brae and your shots with the TX-1 were terrific, especially loved the horses. I think you need one of those Fuji bad boys 😁
Thanks Steven! I definitely would love one haha
Such a gorgeous place to make images - the photo at 12:32 is just breathtaking and it is fantastic to see people like Ruben who appreciate photography and love sharing their stories and are kind enough to let us make photos of them... super good reminder!

Yes! So good. And so happy that you got to play with it. You can see your natural smile in the intro, still glowing from the experience, haha.
Haha the energy was radiating for quite some time. Cheers!
Mate, just wanted to say - phenomenal production quality on this video! Always loved the vibe you give in your vids but everything in this one was top notch, from the photos, to the videography, and especially the music. Keep up the excellent work :D
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed.
Beautiful shots and awesome video!
Thank you Tony! Appreciate it.
Wow so beautiful photos you took🙌🏽

Hey man, new to your videos and love them. Great editing and letting the photos and camera do the talking. Keep it up!
Thanks Oscar!
Beautiful landscapes
Thanks!
Great shots at 6:27, hope to catch more of your stuff in the coming months. Keep it going, loving the colours.
P.S.: Please don't get hit by any cars.
Haha I’ll try! And thank you, much appreciated!
Quite possibly your best combination of film and video to date! Panoramic has been my focus for that last few weeks with two rolls of Porta 800 through the Pentax 67 with the 35mm adapter. With both rolls experienced light leaks so now need to figure out where it happened. Regardless the pano view draws you in and you did a great job of showing this.
Thanks Tod! Looking to get those spools for my 67 too. I do enjoy the format quite a lot. Cheers.
you are probably the most consistent and growing film youtuber in my opinion, it's awesome that you're new-ish to film. stoked to see where all of this takes you, keep killin' it 🤙🏽 I'm hoping to start creating more videos over the next 3 months
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 appreciate it. Looking forward to progressing!
this is absolutely amazing stuff man! you should be proud
Definitely stoked on these photos. Thanks!
I love the color
Smashed it! Great vid my dude...definitely got me jazzed to go out and make some photos! ✌️

Thanks Liam!
Loving your videos/work - glad I found this channel!
Thank you very much!
Another great video man, I love these amazing landscapes, to be honest I've never seen this side of the US before (I'm from France), and I love it!
The sequence with Ruben was really heartwarming :)
Thanks for the feedback! Had a blast :)
Another great video Brae, i love my XPan...I only use it around 4-5 times a year and I sometimes think about selling it to pick up a Fuji GFX 50R but even if it doesn’t get much use its still my favourite, if very specialised, camera that I own
They are beautiful cameras without a doubt. Will likely get one as soon as I can afford one and keep it forever. Thanks for checking out the vid James!
This is amazing !!!!!!!!!! keep going mate
Thank you!
I loved the vertical shots too, since coming across Edo era woodblock work from Japan I have been big admirer of vertical compositions.
They’re quite fun, they were some of my favorites from this day. Cheers!
@12:31 My fave!!!
bro ur vibes in your most recent videos...... excellent
Thank you Margaret! Glad you’re enjoying!
those photos of the horses were stunning with this pano format. Well done!

Awesome vid again!
Appreciate it Callum!
You are a one man advert for the beauty of Washington State!! I want to see it again! Greetings from Ireland
Cheers for the support. It’s a wonderful state for landscape photography!
Wow! Just Wow. Awesome video! I especially love your compositions throughout this one. Keep it up, Brae, and thank you! (p.s. - I missed if there was a past reference to how you hurt your back, but I wish you the best for a speedy recovery.)
Thanks Bob! Love some of these compositions as well. And I broke my back a few years back so have some lingering pain. Cheers!
killing it as usual
Thanks Abby!
The photos are as cool as the man with the horses and dude your videos are just so nice to watch
Thank you!
Now this is the content I turn my computer on for every day!
Awesome, thanks Luca!
Absolutely beautiful photos and landscapes. I am extremely jealous of where you live -I was supposed to take a 2 week road trip in the USA this year before the virus. I am just getting into film and your vids are an inspiration!
Thanks Martin!
so nice
Ruben experience seems like one in a million. Envious. Anyway, keeping up on going from oldest to newest, I love your channel a lot, Brae!
It really was. Thank you!
Another sick video Brae! Panoramas are so cool. Wish it was more accessible though, X-pans are so expensive these days.
Yeah the prices are insane haha. Thanks Ben!
Damn Ruben's the ultimate OG! Love meeting people like that on little photo journeys. Also had no idea panorama still holds the same quality as other formats. Really sick to see!
He’s the man! And yeah, panos can definitely render some great results!
Fucking hell Brae, that video was incredible. You’ve very quickly become one of, if not the top photography account on RUclips for me. Thank you!!
Wow, thank you Bradley! Means a ton. Appreciate you checking out the vids and the support!
I’ve really been inspired by your videos. Heading up to Snoqualmie Pass next weekend.
Awesome! Enjoy!
These are so great! I'd love to see how you edit your photos!
Will likely make a video on the process here soon!
This is an awesome video!
Thanks Jeffrey!
this. this is healing.
the drone shots 😍
🙏🏻
Love your channel dude, you're like the Bob Ross of film photography.
Haha wow! That’s awesome. Appreciate it, cheers!
This is real dope 🙏🏽
Thanks Donte!
I'm lucky enough to have this camera and your photos were really impressive! Really nice work, you're lucky to have such wide vistas to photograph and you captured them with thoughtful and creative compositions, which isn't all that easy to do with this camera.
Appreciate that! I’m envious that you own one, was very enjoyable to shoot with.
no way i just started watching your videos and i realized that you had a morro bay shirt on. I'm from the area and in about two month I'm taking my first road trip to shoot film. i love all the videos you have made and ik you're not doing this for the subs but they will def come. i would love to get some advice on what cameras i should bring for my trip but if not keep on trucking brotha
Thanks Mitchel! Appreciate it man 👊🏻 what cameras do you have to bring?
Never hit subscribe faster, fantastic video.
Much appreciated! Thanks Josh!
crazy shots bro.
🙏🏻
That segment with the horses was just beautiful man, well done.
Thank you Vincenzo! 🙏🏻
Stunning landscape and fantastic shots! Hey! Check out the 135N and 135W backs for the Bronica SQ!!
Thanks! And thats a good idea, i will check those out!
Just discovered your channel. Soooooooo dope
Thank you!
searched for the xpan on ebay and i almost choked
Take a look at the Bronica ETR series with the 135W back. You can get very similar results much cheaper.
You could also go for a fujifilm gw690- it produces a much bigger negative that can be cropped to that aspect ratio.
@@robiulahmed Isn't that a fixed lens though? You can also get like 20 shots with a roll of 35mm.
@@selzzaW yeah, it's like a 40mm equivalent. They do a wide angle version as well, so you'll have to decide what focal length you prefer and stick with that. Even still, for the price of a TX-1 or Xpan, you could get 2 bodies and a bunch of film. It's not for everyone, though, so it's best to try one out if you can.
Loved the video. Do you ever shoot slide film? Would love to see how Mt Rainier would look.
I’ve only shot it a couple of times, my local lab doesn’t process it very quickly. Hooping to shoot at least one roll before the end of summer.
Yet again, a great video!!! I love the vibes I get while watching these videos! Seriously great work! Also does that camera take normal 35mm film or is there something else you need? Don't know much about film, just started :)
Thanks! It does take normal 35mm but I would highly recommend going with a standard 35mm camera if you’re starting out as it’ll be ridiculously cheaper. Cheers!
I've always wanted to shoot street photography with this camera as Im based in a city. But those landscapes are incredible, also really digging the vertical shots
Not sure if you watch the real sir robin on YT but he’s got great street photography vids with the XPan. Definitely got me interested in that as well. Cheers!
Brae Hunziker nope haven’t heard of him. Will get onto it, cheers!
as Simone that shoots 6x17 and 4x10 I love seeing you trying a panoramic format!
6x17 is the goal eventually. Love the pano format. Cheers!
@@BraeHunziker I mean the Xpan is basically the same Price as a completely new 6x17 camera so to really makes sense to go for the 6x17 when you don't need the small size of the xpan
The horse shots are amazing
Thank you!
Nice work mate love those panos new sub for ya
Appreciate it!
11:24 was a goddamn good photo. I feel like the panoramic view of it fits aswell! Straight out of a western movie! Also I think alot of the viewers would like a QandA, i would atleast. Anyways great video as always, I have soon seen through all your videoes in a couple of days. Should probably go out shoot soon haha!
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll likely do one soon!
Have you been over to Paradise side? You get a view of Mt Adams, St Helens and Mt Hood on a clear day and great view of the meadows which I have seen bear cubs wandering about.
Oh yep! Love it over there as well. Hoping to do Muir this summer.
@@BraeHunziker have never made I Muir myself. I wonder, can you go inside it? Never seen the inside, just the outside and only one or two shots. Always made me wonder if the person who shot it did it w a telephoto. Used to go to St Helens a bit as well as Rainier. Can't say ever went to Adams or Hood. I'm sure will get some great shots. I live in Texas and it's quite flat in comparison and not near as inspirational. Lol if you get a chance, check out Leavenworth and stay at the Bavarian Inn- particularly during the months of Nov through Jan. It's quite beautiful.
Just got back from a lake/backpacking trip in the Tahoe area of California. I had my Nikon FE2 and 50mm f/1.2.
But there were so many compositions that were just aching for pano and I didn't have it.
Sounds like a good time, I’m sure some panos would have been epic haha.
the vertical ones are awesome. they would definitely make good prints
Would love to get them printed here soon!
Making me want to get those 35mm to 120 spool adapters for the Pentax. Horse shots were great. Need to go back there with medium format. Also where’d you get those grey shorts homie?
Haha getting those adapters was my first thought after shooting this camera... picked up the shorts at h&m I think, cheers bro!
