Definitely agree on seeing the house in person, especially if you are in two different areas such as Kansas City and Southern California.
Whether it’s a multiple hour drive or a same day round trip, it’s worth it, especially if you have the opportunity to talk to someone who lives in the area.

Totally right! I can't believe that we didn't do that, but we did get it to all work out in the end!

There's actually 2 Trader Joe's in KC- one in Leawood where Travis Kelce shops and one in the Ward Parkway shopping center. Also, most Walmarts around KC always have decent winter gloves where you can run in anytime and get some. Definitely disappointing that someone said not to move to the Kansas side but the Overland Park area and surrounding places like Lenexa and Olathe are really good for families. I don't envy anyone commuting and I thank God everyday that I work remotely almost 100% (full disclosure, after I sold my house in Western Lenexa, past Prariestar & K-7, I moved to the One Light building and rarely drive anywhere and use the free KC Streetcar during inclement weather).

Thank you for the correction! I didn't know about the other one in Leawood! I definitely will get gloves soon, but as soon as I realize that I need them, the weather is back in the 60's like this week. How do you like living in the One Light building?

Tell me about the driving...... I was a field service technician in the KC metro for a good 30 years, give or take. I took service calls on both sides of the state line (had a few accounts at Research MC), so I got to know the metro and how to get around pretty well. I'm retired now, so I let the wife do all the navigating, and I just try not to crash into stuff. We lived in the Northeast area for over 20 years (it's NOT a good place to live anymore), and we're in Independence now. We're looking for another place as this part of Independence is slowly sliding downhill. Good information here!
