Pretty sure I’m about to get flooded with comments years later saying the 86 Optimus Prime crushes this one. So I’ll just say this for the record: at TWICE the price, I sure freaking hope it does lol. I’m not sure what world we’re living in where a new doubly expensive version of a cool character suddenly makes the slightly older fantastic one considered “garbage”. Earthrise Optimus still gets most of it right, and even a few things I prefer over the commander. He’s also getting reissued, and I know plenty of people who can’t afford a $100 figure, so this one will be killer for you. Until the new version actually comes out and I try him for myself, nothing has changed for this years-old list, and even if it does that won’t change how freaking great this figure is. THAT’S how good the WFC trilogy was 🔥

Personally I’d put Legacy Armada, Core Class, Siege, Power of the Primes, Cybertron, Classics, Original G2, Original G1, and probably a bunch of others that I can’t think of right now, all ahead of Earthrise Prime

It had a wonky as he'll truck mode but it also has hands how the best transformation (truck to robot) out of any Optimus ever. It's absolutely perfect. Everything goes where it's supposed to, no fake parts, incredible

I love it when you find that transformer that just fits in your hand so well n smooth and when you just understand how to transform it but its not too easy on that one bit lol and then you look at his face sculpt and just get captivated in those blank eyes and your imagination pictures them lighting up and hearing their voice you totally try to mimick when your alone lmaooo its the best feeling ever honestly
Earthrise is definitely a great line if all you want is G1. I feel like the past 6 years have had many good lines, between Studio Series and its sublines, War for Cybertron, then Legacy, we've had many great figures. I'm just excited to see what Studio Series 86 has in store for Optimus and Megatron.
The entire WFC and adjacent lines (Studio Series '86, Netflix exclusives, Legacy) have been top-notch and are the best collection of G1 Transformers EVER! I was an MP/3P type of collector. Once these came out, I decided to switch to the CHUG line and couldn't be happier. Also helps that they take up less shelf space, and are all in decent sclae with one another. I am just a couple figures away from recreating the 1986 movie. I am also glad they made characters from the expanded G1 Universe like Beast Wars, and the Japanese continuity. For as nice as the higher end TFs are... the recent CHUGs work better as a collection. This Prime figure is an example of what the classics line should have been.
I bought the Kingdom release of this figure. My biggest complaint about him is that the hinge on his gun is very loose. Other that that, he's an amazing figure
Legit masterpiece in the mainline, it’s what made me start paying attention to the WFC trilogy. And yeah earthrise was pretty great, but as someone in the UK, it was only great as long as you could find any of it 😂

The matrix was still bad ass and it was nice to hear Optimus Prime ACTUALLY speak with the special bottom on his standing pad. Hell the mouth even moved which was just as cool.
There has never been a better time to be a Transformers fan and collector. Seems like we are constantly getting definitive versions of characters from all of Transformers history.
Transformers prime is the greatest series of all time earthrise doesn't even compare to the storyline or the comebacks or the jokes or the character development or the action and many other things but also Transformers prime is one of the ogs and it brings back lots of nostalgia so it easily clears just watch it fully all seasons and you will know what I mean
Yes and no, they have fantastic molds! But horrible QC in a lot of them because of COVID.. too sad that a great toyline is hugely dragged down because of the bad QC and distribution. That and the seeker mold, i think that one is kinda disappointing
People need to keep their expectations in check. Given Hasbro's past releases, it may very well end up being a Voyager with slightly better than average articulation and a big hollow box for a trailer. The internet is hyping up that figure like it's gonna be the one toy to rule them all. I hope it's good but we'll have to wait and see
The Shattered Glass repaint of this figure is my favourite turning Optimus Prime into Orinix an evil autobot. He does have flaws tho, he comes with a matrix that doesn’t exist in the Shattered Glass universe and he can link up with the Earthrise trailer which again doesn’t exist in their universe but he’s so awesome.
I got a similar mold that didn't get the trailer, but was packed in with two mini figures that turn into an Energon axe and an Energon shield. The windshield is silver instead of blue.
It may have its flaws like the legs being too long for certain people, the trailer looking kinda barren and the scars of it being a Siege retool, but it’s still a really neat Prime in my book 👍.

The fact that I bought him a few years ago on Amazon for £44 and my mum accidentally gave threw it away last year, I still cry every time this transformer is mentioned
Being the definitive mainline Prime, this thing has everything it needs to be such. Pretty good, so much so, that I needed this one to replace POTP as my main. However, i do wish one day, theyll use the engineering from Classics Deluxe Prime (Yes, i know about the proportions) utilizing a real grill, and tucking away the fenders as the waist to make a perfect anime accurate Prime.
I have a feeling, now with them doing a ss 86 magnus, i think theyre gonna do an 86 commander class version of this guy, and if that happens, earthrise primes gonna have to take the back seat.
That'd be interesting for sure. But even if they did make him a commander, I'll always have a personal preference for the WFC style since they gave the characters extra detailing and panel lining. The 86 figures are mostly great, but often overly simple since they're trying to be so cartoon accurate.

Then this mold comes out with 3 remolds that turn out to be absolute BANGERS!!!! I think my favorite look of them all is the premium finish siege one, but if I ever got my hands on the Netflix earth rise version, that’s definitely up there for me. Great choice my man!
Earthrise optimus was the last gift my father ever gave me before he passed away on halloween later that same year… This figure is the crown jewel in my collection. And for the reason stated above NOTHING will ever change that.

In my country, not a single toy or display model came out for the Transformers Netflix show and I was so upset, all that came out was stuff for Earthspark and I really wanted to see if Cog got a figure or Scorponik

Why does every optimus prime i see in this model always have the same legs, like literally it could be an entirely different prime different transformation and different design but it still ends up with the same leg design

I'm getting the reissue of this figure for my 16th birthday and I'm so excited but my birthday is July 7th so it will most likely arrive after my birthday but I'm still thrilled I'm actually getting the figure since it has been a transformer i have wanted for years but couldn't justify the high prices so this figure being reissued is just awesome can't wait for july
I have that figure and the trailer too. Mine have customized stickers, a custom rifle, and a back piece which transforms into the back part of the semi. Plus a customized Roller and other parts for the trailer. The customized parts I bought on ebay. Better thab the Siege version. Transform and roll out! 😊

Earthrise Optimus Prime looks like an updated version of the original G1 version.
I absolutely loved it when it was released. Even then, I knew it wasn't perfect, and something like the SS 86 version was possible.
