Actually no one should have heard it beyond the small TV crew and Prost since Senna said it before the segment that was to be recorded and broadcasted on french TV. When the TF1 crew heard it, they were a bit puzzled at first and wondered what to do with it, so they asked Senna if they could broadcast it on TV as well and he said yes. I think it was important for him at that point to show that there were no bad feelings left between himself and Prost.

what makes you think they "almost became friends"? If you're the type of fanatic that thinks Prost is lying about his deceased colleague 25 years later, you probably don't believe his remark on the whole "Senna good guy vs Mafia Belestre noseman Prost" duck tale. They were on good terms for years before Imola. Senna used to call Prost constantly (monthly at least) asking Prost to return to F1. They also visited each other, and exchanged words on race days. Also, Prost said, Senna confided something very personal to him in the last months before Imola. Of course, Prost being the "Belestre Mafia Suzuka dood it was a scam dood" guy that he is, he vowed he will never give the journos that bit of info.

Save for my grandfather and Ayrton Senna, I have no idols. I have raced and seen what I call the tunnel and Senna called transcending reality. To step outside yourself, with your life on the line, is the most euphoric feeling that I have felt. Your body and instinct simply take over and your active mind is an uninterested observer. I believe Senna often reached this level, and he always raced on instinct and feel. He raced with his heart and that’s why I love him.
It would be easy for me to hate Prost, but I love him too. He pushed my idol to levels that he would not have achieved without Prost. So I salute you Alain, I admire and respect you. Without you I would never have had the driver I always tried to be, thank you professor.

No, you don’t win 4 world championship if you aren’t a champ. Prost except the first year in f1 he always fighted for the title. He often won against Senna and the battle was always hard. McLaren, Renault and Williams don’t take a driver if he isn’t really strong. Berger? Only a good diver, non a champ. On 1996 with the Benetton Renault that won on 1995 he done really few good things. The same on 1989 with Ferrari. Remember how Prost was fast on 1990 with Ferrari! Prost was the only one that made difficult Senna’s life.

Senna was not justifying Suzuka 1990 when he said that though. He was answering Jackie Stewart, who was questioning his driving style, mentioning the number of collisions that Senna take part in the last seasons/races back then. That clip with the Suzuka 1990 incident was out of context.
