    two things that are missing in modern F1: competitive ferrari and brazilians

    • @elbaecc
      @elbaecc 3 года назад +846

      "Competitive Ferrari" is actually what turned me off F1. This was at the peak of Ferrari v MacLaren / Schumacher v Hakkinen rivalry.
      I remember the race where Barrichello was at #1 and was ordered by Ferrarri boses _on the very last lap_ to slow down and let Schumacher through so he wins the race and increases his chances of winning in the Driver's Championship versus Hakkinen. They stole Barichello's win from him and seeing the emotional hurt on the Brazilians face while Schumacher beamed and celebrated unabashedly...I was done! As much as Schumacher has achieved in his career, it has been on the back of other drivers' careers, like Barichello's, and I lost respect for him & Ferrari that day. Haven't saw F1 with the same amount of zeal and interest after that.

    I remember that race where Senna finally won his 1st Brazilian GP. It still is a very emotional video to watch
    In more recent times, Leclerc's win in Spa is a story of incredible determination during difficult times. I can't even imagine how he found the mental strength to pull that off. Him hugging Hubert's mom before starting the race is a truly hard breaking image.

    There was also 2012 European GP in Valencia. The race happened just after an earthquake hit Spain leaving casualties. Alonso's win then & there was an emotional one too. Just to keep that one in mind too.

      Alonso started further down the grid too. Overtaking driver after driver... spectacular drive and well earned win.

    Rubens Barrichello was one of my favorite drivers back in the early 2000s and I was still kid at the time, next to Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen. The guy's emotional victory shows that he made the impossible possible.

    Brazil 1991 was so emotional, the unbelievable sounds coming from Senna's radio always make some tears in my eyes.
    This kind of Senna's acting (and many other) make me feel about him a bit more than just a driver, but more than a warrior on the track.
    And after coming out of the car most importnant for Ayrton is to hug his father...

      @@ConfusedOxygen I was going to be thrilled for either of them, but after Pierre's turbulent year and his uncertain future because of it, I was elated to see him win. Sainz, jokes aside, I'm sure has a bright future at Ferrari. He will get his wins
