I would love a guitar collection update vid and even a “Here’s how I’m using this studio after a few months” video. I feel like of all the studio videos out there you’d have one of the more interesting ones. One part because of how thorough you are another because your use case is so varied.
The Guitar collection video will probably be “why I sold almost all my guitars.” And yes, I’ll do the second video for sure in early 2025. Thanks for the idea!
@@andrefludd i can't believe you are using a laptop instead of a desktop, and such little monitors. i have a 32" and a 60" monitor. still pretty small, I'll upgrade to 40" and 80" soon. the adams are nice, but having a subwoofer really helps. for a chair, using an x-chair or herman miller or a secret lab is a far better choice. i find that gaming chairs outperform office chairs. congrats on the new space. have fun.
This is killer dude! Sometimes i wish i didn't love pedals so much so i could just have an axe fx3 doing all my work. lol. I don't really care about amps anymore, i only need a nice clean channel. Anyway, good luck with the new studio!
Congrats on the new setup!seeing what you do with the speakers with lifts is helpful for me, I love my sit/stand desk setup but the speakers take up a lot of desk space
Great to see you moving into a better space!! Looks really good, hopefully it helps you work more efficiently. You've probably already looked into it, and if you have, I'll shut up. BUT, you might want to consider getting some isolation pads for your monitors.
This is awesome, glad you got a proper space for videos now. You made that basement work, but this definitely seems like it'll be better for you, congrats Andre!
Very neat cable management indeed. My desk setup is somewhat similar and my cabling is not as neat as yours. Looking forward to the first video in the new studio and the guitar update.
Extremely clean set up, specially how you have your laptop on top of your rack space so it's more on eye level with the monitor, ergonomics not just for guitar but for computer set ups!
That telepromter is so compact! Mine is huge but I've got it set-up so I can rotate my camera 90 degrees for vertical videos. I think I've also got the same camera Sony a6400
A seriously efficient work station! And to those who say what you do is easy, it’s not, but certainly easier with this new set up!😅. Congratulations !👍 Comfort IS important, if you’re sitting there for hours, it’s not healthy to sit all day, but an ergo chair and a stand up desk is very significant to avoid the health issues of sitting to do your work.
As soon as I saw the new space, my first thought was "Where are the guitars?!?" I would love to hear how you decided which to sell and what is left. I recently sold quite a few guitars in effort to focus on music making instead of guitar collecting. HOWEVER, new ones keep arriving. Nice setup! I am looking forward to seeing it in action. Cheers from St. Louis.
Hey Doc, looks great. Awesome video. Can't wait to see what you have in store. Also....uhm....did I miss the explanation for the missing hair? Love it! Keep it up.
I had a variant of this desk, and it was great. I started going back to the office more often, so I gave it to my wife. I made some mods in the bottom to add cable baskets, mounted my Mac mini in a sled on the bottom, and made a bracket to hold my laptop.
Dr. Fludd, This is great. So happy to see you working out a new system that will streamline your workflow and creation process. I am thinking of going a similar route with my workspace in the next year and was wondering if you can include a link to some of the gear you are using like the lights and desk mounts? Thanks!
Yes, check back to the video this weekend and it will all be updated. I just got so excited I wanted to post the video before making dinner and heading to bed
Make a vid on the guitars youre keeping andre. Would love to know which ones won, my bets are on the emi, the essential (obviously), the parker numbers, the PRS hollowbody and your special sitar guitar hybrid making the cut...amongst others.
Similar setup here with the MacBook Pro nd monitor and axe fx. I have an fm9 though. I did have an axe fx 2 and I actually modded my desk to put a rack unit under it so it wasn’t sitting on top.
I thought about doing the same thing. Drilling a hole through the desk and hanging the rack from the desk. But ultimately, this desk is SO big I have plenty of space regardless. I also wanted to be able to switch the buttons on the axefx easier so I don’t have to use the desktop app.
@ well I guess you could replace the top keep the frame if you ever damaged it. You could get a little something to put the axe fx on top of underneath the desk. I would think having that under one of the speakers would make the sound somewhat lob-sided. Looks like a great little space. Be good once you get some treatment up.
Yea. Idk id you can see in the video but there’s already another desk I tried on the frame haha. It feels perfect right now but I’m sure it will keep evolving
any noise complaints in the apartment yet? i was always afraid to use my monitors when i lived in an apartment. i just recently moved into a house and im able to comfortably crank it up now. congrats on the new studio!
I def don’t crank them because i also don’t want to bother anyone. But it’s just 2 other tenants. The person right below me travels a lot and is rarely home so I should be okay.
Awesome setup but you lost me at the laptop. I can't live without a desktop, its so much nicer and usable. I like the chair and I really need a new one so I might try one of those.
Don’t buy the chair just yet! I have a couple more im showing on the channel! Also, this laptop is powerful enough to run my video editor, photoshop, all my day job programs, and a bunch of other stuff all at the same time. I like it because if I get tired of being home, I can just plug it out and go somewhere else to work.
I have a couple cabinet/amp things. I like them but it’s much more complicated to record them and right now low volume, speed, and efficiency are the goals and recording direct is great for that.

the painters tape to manage the cables is a great tip, sweet setup!
I have a similar desk for my studio and it truly is one of my favorite "things". Being able to raise and lower the desk is an amazing feature.
I love it SO much
Congrats! I like that your channel is in some way different than other guitar-oriented RUclips channels!
Love the new setup, Andre! Looks great!!!
Thank you!
Hope nothing bad happened to necessitate the move. We're here for you bud!
I always enjoy these behind-the-scenes videos. I'm also interested in hear about which guitars made the cut.

Wow, this man is a genius in so many ways
I dig it.
I will say that I've had noise issues running audio gear through a display as a hub, but that could just be my old monitor lol.

Planning a move soon and looking for inspiration for my new setup, this had a ton of useful information, as you tend to always do. Thanks!
I hope you love your new space!
So happy for you, love this set up.

Absolutely amazing, not long ago you would need an entire crew and network tv sized corporation to run that operation!
clean as hell. congrats man

I need to try the blue painter's tape for my pedalboard. Good call!
Not sure it will hold something that rugged but worth a shot

Which Yamahas did you have? I tried the HS5s but they were way too fatiguing for me.

Yes! We are planning to stay here for another few years and save so we can hopefully buy something in the next 3-5 years
