Tube Mic Giveaway! kingsumo.com/g/o2fpm8/brand-new-la-320-tube-mic-giveaway
Dude’s monitor setup is worth more than my whole life..
That is what I am screaming.... Im struggling to buy groceries and pay bills and wish i could afford a 1/4 of this gear maybe a good microphone
@@stealingtomorrowband I use an AKG P220, got it for around $200 yeeears ago, I think they replaced the P220 with a new model. Regardless, depending on your vocal chain you can get your cuts sounding like they were from a much more expensive mic! Also used gear is KING!!
🤣
@@realonethreesevens3640 funny you mention that microphone... My friend let me borrow 2 of those last week. Also have a couple 57s and 58s and some other decent microphones...
No kidding 😮
I'm 25, already producing and mixing, currently learning mastering... and right now I feel I don't have enough time, that I already spent "good years" that can't get back, and when I heard him say "First hit at 41..." It hit me different...
So, if you are reading this, and have ever felt like this, like it's already to late to pursue your dreams, then let me tell you, you are not alone, but you can indeed make it, never hesitate to dream, never hesitate to take the leap, time is your ally, just wait, keep studying, practicing, mixing, painting, cooking whatever it is, just hang in there, YOU'LL MAKE IT!!! I TRUST IN YOU.
25 lol
Get outta here kid
As a drummer and piano player for over 30 years. One thing I've learned to appreciate about playing live and recording. A really talented front of house and studio engineer make talented musicians their best no question ! They are the secret hero's in live music.
Gotta appreciate his career story...
He made it happen...
Killer!! Glad you guys could hook up!
Killer setup, man. when is your atmos setup coming up(Colt&Andrew)? I can't wait to see that. I have a focal Solo6 be 2.1 setup but my space isn't big enough to expand from what I have currently, so I've been flirting with the idea of doing my atmos setup with the Focal shape 40, 7.1.4 with my sub6 11 as my .1. One of my concerns of this idea is am i sacrificing quality over quantity?
Matt is one of the most genuine and kindest dudes in the biz. Great ears and humble!
I love that he has a board to work on as soon as he exits his vehicle. 🔥
This is the greatest episode ever, this guy is so inspiring, and his story is so moving, and of course the success he got to achieve is unbelievable ❤, probably this was the first episode that ever made me emotional watching it.
Besides you're studio @Andrew Masters this might be my second best studio
Yours?
So cool, fellow Millikin University alum here! Love see a fellow central IL kid make good!
So IL>Central IL
But both of us > Northern IL (bc I can't afford it)
And IL > Others although I'll talk more shit about Illinois than anyone else lmao
This is definitely the best studio tour I have seen, super crazy set-up. Matt explained this setup so well too. Thanks Andrew
What a great guy, great philosophy, great energy, and super cool studio. A+++++
A very gracious fellow ..... thanks Matt 😊
Always some Awesome Tours!!! Love It!! 🦾💎🏆
this guy is so great...instead of talking much gear...he talks about his life and inspiring many people....thank you Sir
This setup is literally what we (project studio enthusiasts) all hope paradise is going to be. What a stunning environment.
This is amazing, we need to see things like this to open our mind and desires to audio gear, studio setup, and at the end sweet recordings and great mixes ❤❤
I would like to thank him for sharing his knowledge at SAE as well as all the other instructors. I'm currently an SAE student myself.
This has to be one of the BEST studio tours you've done! It was impressive and Matt seems like a super cool guy!!
Matt is the BEST! I’m incredibly humbled to be recording at this studio! Thank you so much for making this tour happen
Really enjoyed the intro of b-roll and audio to logo section... along with the content always but that part almost gave it like an MTV cribs vibe especially with the piano shot in it.
Love Matt's energy! Great tour, super impressive room
$75,000 worth of studio monitors?!?! Good God!
I can relate with this bloke's story so much.Especially when he said they kicked him out and all the struggles.Great one !
This feature was invaluably inspirational! Loved this!
Monitor heaven
Just beautiful!
What a great vid and awesome studio - thanks for sharing !!!
The Minimain 12’s are so insane. The best audio of any kind I’ve ever heard in my entire life by a long shot. They have the vibe of a live music venue but the clarity of a super high end pair of headphones. Not to mention the bass sounds like somebody brought a PA array into a room. I will be in the hole for the next 3-5 years for my pair but good grief is it so worth it.
Such a fantastic tour. Wow!
impressive! thank you for this insight. With musical greetings from Germany
very inspiring... I just set up my studio at home.. love it.. have not started doing it full time.. just weekend warrior... been in the business over 20 plus yrs
World of knowledge here, incredible!!! Thanks Andrew! Great Video
wow that monitor setup... next level after next level... makes me so happy I mix on headphones.
A great reminder that things take time, but they will surely come if you keep working at it!
It's fantastic...!!!
Congratulation Great Studio !
Wow Wow Wow woulb be great to listen to the recorded in this space!
Great tour. Great back story on how he got to where he is now.
Good God! I am jealous, and impressed.
I'm inspired! Thank you so much for this tour.
Simply inspirational! Great interview!
crazy story man i love it thanks for sharing
I have been inspired to clean my studio tonight just from watching this thank you.
Hey Andrew. I accidentally found you through watching a soundproof video by a guy named Scott McKenna. He credited you a number of times on his studio build. So, I "liked" your RUclips page, and the first video I watched was the basement studio tour at Matt McClure's house! Loved it!! I'll be binge-watching others all day! My story is, I'm a DJ/VJ of 30 years. I voicetrack an FM Radio show for a Contemporary Christian station in Auburn, Alabama. I did Pop and later Country radio for all but the last 2 years. Matt was referring to people at Opryland Theme Park that I knew. I was in Nashville from 1981-1989 pursuing my drum career, and worked at Opryland Hotel as a Bellman to pay the bills. Anyway, I am building a small 8'x12'studio in my home. My grandfather built this house in 1955 for my parents, and there was NO insulation in the outer walls. So, I took down the old drywall, spray-foamed all 4 walls, and am just putting up the last 2. sheets of 1/2" drywall this week. Underneath the floor, it had already been filled with sprayfoam. Overhead, I've decided to take down the old drywall and 6" of blown-in insulation, and replace it with 2'x2' drop ceiling and lay 6" to 8" wool insulation panels on top. This also gives me access to correcting old and running new electrical, security, internet, and speaker wiring that I could not access before. My question is, have you assisted in building or have you toured a studio for radio DJ's that is simular to my situation. I'd love to see those videos. Thanks.
That's a studio !!! Wow
thanks for another tour, mate
What a fantastic space ! Great guy, great interview !❤🔥
Awesome video! Yes Chicago back in the day was THE center for jingles, there were places / studios all over, Paragon was a huge one. Big ups to all the Atmos / Dante users trying out different technologies. And those old MCI JH-24's while awesome , those red 8pin dips are a real pain to replace! If you know you know :)
Great Tour as usual Andrew! what an Atmos set-up...got to check those pre's too.
Awesome studio! Great tour!
Good Watch. Killer room. Wishing you well from Pana IL.
Kudos on staying with your dreams, bro... FAITH 🎶👆💥
insane !!!
Yep! Insane!
good god that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow!!!🔥🔥🔥
this is one of my favorites
Such a beautiful studio!
Awesome studio love your videos
I saw something the other day that completely blew my mind. It’s my new dream piece of studio gear. Unfortunately it’s probably so rare I’ll both never be able to use or see one, much less buy one. The moog studio mixer. They literally had a freaking studio console! For years I’ve always wondered how a company with such a legacy couldn’t have any studio gear. People used the modular systems as effect sources for guitars or vocals on iconic songs from history. People love their filters. They had some 500 series stuff for a short time but no longer. I bet if moog reissued this studio console it would sell out on preorders if it wasnt grossly overpriced. Especially all the synth junkies.
Wow, I just watched the whole video start to finish, this was so entertaining. It's hard to explain, but this is the first video I have ever watched on RUclips about personal audio setups and I have to say I'm hooked. So interesting when everything is explained so well.
I'm no genius, but I have an academic education, and love music, so when I'm hearing about latency and ProTools, I at least know what is being said.
I had a hard time with my dual Yorkville subwoofers because they had a terrible dead spot in my den, but after reading up on PA speaker placement and phasing, delay, sound deadening, etc...all is good now.
I'm now looking forward to checking out ALL of the past uploads for this channel.
PS: Matt, just a note to say it's very obvious that you have a degree in Sound Engineering. My nephew has his Master's in Engineering and my niece has her Master's in Phycology. I find it so easy to learn from individuals with a high level of education because their ability to make their point, to get their idea across just comes naturally.
Man that is awesome
WOW...
This dood is the "Real Deal" ...
I want his life ..lol..
He has my dream studio and beyond...
Super Awesome next level kinda studio..
May he have Immence success in it..
Great Vid Andrew.. For real, thankx for this one..
\m/ Respect \m/
This dude must have so much fun in here
Cool studio! Between you, Colt and this guy, there seems to be a strong Illinois connection in Nashville. 👍🏽
One minute into this video and I was about to give up on my set up 😂
Epic!
I like the set-up
DAM, here I go down another wormhole of information for the next 3 years ! I am an armchair everything because of the internet. I can sail, don't own a sailboat, I know everything about RV's from van's to 3 million dollar units, don't own one ..but armchair it all.
The reason I'm here is I just typed in "home sound studio" and poof, here I am. I always wanted to set up my den for music only. I bought a complete PA system, picked up a nice mixer, about 7 mics because I wanted to mic my drums just to get that high-end thump.
I am now in the process of figuring out how to set up my new amp I just bought. I picked up a DENON AV amp, some nice 7.2 speaker set-ups, but I'm having trouble trying to get the computer to pump out true 7.1 to the amp, it's harder than you think ....plus the fact I'm 63.
One thing I did notice was my amp has ATMOS, which I did not know what it means, but now I do. I have to download special software to my computer just to make it work, I'm in the process tonight, actually.
I haven't purchased a new amp since 2006, I did not even realize that with a new AV amp, I get onscreen menu's so it's so easy to interact with the settings, but there's so much to learn, the e-manual is 269 pages.
Well, that's enough typing. I just want to say that I have now subbed the channel and I'm about to go down the wormhole of home studio ideas, wish me luck.
PS: If anybody that has a sound engineering degree and lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I'll supply all the seafood chowder and beer if you show me some pointers on how to make my amp sound it's best. I own an Acura TL with DTS sound system built in, so that is what got me into DTS recording. I've been trying to make CD's for the car so I can hear pure DTS in the car, again, hard to find a book on that I'll tell ya.
Looove this guys story
that- s a juggernaut broo!!!! wth!!! awesome freaking stuff jeeeessss
I thought there was nothing more to see after Blackbird Studios. My jaw dropped when I saw the thumbnail and started watching this video.
This is such an inspiring story..
Speechless
its temple for me, would go inside this studio barefoot.. what a space. I wish i can build one. Right now my studio is 6 by 5 by 6 container. Awesome video.
Very impressive!
multi channel country music is a super funny concept :)
calling everything epic in the titles has become quite tiring, but still a very good video none the less :)
holy shit!!!!!
de one of may favorite builds
god damn this is like dreamland
Wow....I'm drooling over all the Barefoots!
Nashville has to have the most studios in one city in the world, by a country mile.
Thank you for showing me what a pile my studio is.
Yeah, a Barefoot room, is awesome! Very nice indeed!
this is a DREAM.
WOW!
My dream is to one day own 1 of his many speakers lol One can only dream.... Amazing video as usual Andrew!
I mean... can i hit Powerball already?? Lol
Dude is so damn enthused about his equipment, I would listen to him like a first grader at storytime, Just loving EVERYTHING about this.
Great setup and the results sound great but how does he bring himself to listen to that music all day haha I couldn't.
the Auratone's have their own Sound Anchors!
Seems like a really nice guy
Crazy to see that for all music genre there are one CL1B MKII ...
Good interview lots of interteresting infos in there.
Ummmmmm…..
Like, I literally don’t have words for this one. So much could be learned from this guy.
You should hook up and connect with classic recording studio in Bristol Virginia... He is a 2x Grammy nominated studio guy..
Jeez. I figured out my problem. I grew up on a farm in Illinois but we had the “green” tractors. So, this is obviously my dad’s fault and I had nothing to do with my incompetence. My “studio” is not a beginner’s studio but certainly not in the same universe as this guy’s….probably the same with my level of average compared to his level of genius. But…congrats to him for being able to live his dream because of his own efforts. Amazing.
Wow great tour and what a nice fella Matt is. That's a nice set up indeed. I was recently at a house that had a stereo set of Karma (Over 1 million USD per pair!) speakers for home theater front. I felt a little sick to be honest, thinking how just 1/4 of that could service a really nice studio. Meanwhile, his studio was all JBL, Behringer etc. :)
This studio, I think would be just as effective to the end listener with Yamaha HS 8s peppering the space, given the choice of subs. But the Barefoot set up is a nice mid-upper tier choice no doubt about it. It will last a lifetime if need be!
