Put everyone in equal cars… I would pick Alonso over any driver in the past 15 years.
Man I really like and appreciate Fernando, but we have some serious young talent on the grid right now, wait till 2022 season and hopefully small gaps between cars and then we can decide.

He doesn't have a crystal ball... McLaren was the best car, he underestimated how biased the English can be when they have an English driver. Ferrari was a championship contender when he joined in, and he almost won two titles with inferior cars. And Honda announced their intent to return when the regulations called for gas V8 engines... the hybrid spec was a lobby play by Mercedes which caught them unprepared.

A mí me daba bastante asco Lobato, pero tras ver durante un tiempo las lamidas de gónadas que le hacen en Sky a Hamilton pues casi prefiero al calvo que por lo menos te ríes.

McLaren wanted Hamilton to be youngest champion, same as redbull tried with Vettel and now last year tried with Verstappen.

Indeed. 2005 and 2006 Renault was known for starting good. Fisichella had good starts too. But Alonso does good starts with almost every car he has driven!

@@samezizou1672 oui ses choix n'ont pas étés les meilleurs mais il s'est quand même battu pour le titre avec des voitures moyennes comme les ferrari de 2010 et 2012 et a frôler la victoire sur ces championnats mais malheureusement il a eu beaucoup de malchance sur des moments ponctuels, et si on compte 2007 aussi bein il aurait pu être quintuple champion du monde avec plus de chance sans avoir eu une voiture dominatrice ou participer à une ère de domination dévastatrice, après si il aurait fait les bons choix je te dirai même pas combien il aurait de titres actuellement ce serait même plus que schumacher et hamilton au vu de son énorme talent

Alonso is underrated, if McLaren didn't cheat, Alonso would've won atleast 2 more world championships. He's just extremely unlucky.

Underrated? Pfft if anything overrated, toxic person behind the scenes with some of the most foolish fanboys. He took a seat which should have went to more deserving if not better drivers such as Nico Hulkenberg. It's time for the future not prickish old vets, he reminds me a lot of Jacques Villeneuve.
And remember... if Alonso had an amazing start then Webber had a horrible start.
Yeah the first clip always make me laugh. So typical of Webber to get a brilliant qualifying and then throw everything away at the start.

The truth is that he didn't need the best car. He need a car and a team to compit. A litle bit better than he was in ferrari.
Alonso overtake on the outside of T3 at Catalonia is a classic.
In my opinion, he's genuenly the BEST driver on the grid as of now, and is getting absolutely slept on, even tho he's getting lots of attention, I think he deserves way more. His race pace is flawless. His starts are still the best on the grid. He makes absoluetly NO mistakes.
I think it's obvious. This man has still got it ALL, and needs more chances.

He's one of the best drivers of all times, and definitely better than our current "soon-to-be-8-times-champ". Alonso was better than "the rookie" even in 2007, when entire McLaren was against Nando and pro "the rookie". And especially from 2010 to 2013, when he outclassed "The Sir" in every season. Which actually confirmed that his result in 2007 was because of McLaren hostility. Nando's career was destroyed on purpose, because he was the most dangerous opponent to "The Sir". Which is why "The Sir" managed to win in 2008, because his only opponent was...... Massa. And even against Massa "The Sir" struggled until the last lap of the last race in the season, LOL.

0:30 at the time the Michelins had a very good grip and the reunault had a good acceleration if you combine all this with its reaction time it can only make a good start

before 2006 V8 era, renault paired a 6speed transmission with their V10 engine unlike the 7 speeds from other PU manufacture, this give a slight advantage for the race start acceleration and a disadvantage for top speed, Alonso always maximise the advantage of his car
