That's because LH had a faster car than Alonso from 2010 to 2013. And then from 2014 onward. But at the end of the 2010 season Alonso beat him fair and square, even though he had a slower car. And 2011. And 2012. And 2013. All he needed is a car that is even slightly competitive.
@@cinegraphics not even close. Alonso only had a weaker car than Hamilton in 2011. And even then Mclarne and Ferrari were pretty much neck n neck. In 2010 Ferrari handily outdeveloped Mclaren from Silverstone onwards. In 2012 Ferrari was definitely the better package when you look at race pace/tyre deg/ reliability/ team operation. In 2013 the Ferrari was miles better than the Merc in race trim. Not to mention how Hamilton had proper teammates to fight against (Button, Rosberg) whilst Alonso had a wingman and a team focused solely on him. Plus Alonso was at his prime around that time, 2012 was his 12th season, whilst it only was Hamiltons 6th. In his 6th season Alonso was losing to a rookie in the same car.
@@ksfreestylers1146 okay, I re-checked all the races in all those 4 seasons. So let's correct your alternative facts with the real ones: - in 2010 McLaren and Ferrari were constantly exchanging in positions and lap times. They were approximately the same. But Fernando outclassed LH. - in 2011 McLaren was a lot faster than Ferrari. But Fernando was still better. - in 2012 McLaren was a lot faster in 80% of the races, except in a few races mid season. Still Fernando outclassed both McLaren drivers. - in 2013 Mercedes was a lot faster in about 60% of the races, and slightly faster in about 30%. Ferrari had a chance on just a few tracks. Still, Alonso outclassed LH. It just shows that without having absolutely the best LH shows nothing. He wins a few races, but he lacks consistency to win entire season.
@@cinegraphics the fact that you needed to "recheck the races" tells it all really. And no you literally got 0/4. 1) 2010. How exactly did Alonso outclass Hamilton in 2010? Alonso had the better car for most of the year AND a wingman alongside him yet he only finished like 8 points ahead of Hamilton who had the reigning champion alongside him for good measure. 2) In 2012 if you correct reliability for Vettel Hamilton and Alonso you will find out that Hamilton wins the title comfortably. Ferrari cearly had a great car, Massa(who had a bad season) almost outscored Alonso in the second half of the season and scored more points than both Hamilton and Webber....Not to mwntion how Ferrari had far better tyre deg than Mclaren which made hge difference in the races. 3) You are absolutely delusional if actually believe the Mercedes was anywhere near Ferrari in race pace in 2013. Mercs were good in quali but they were famously going backwards every race pretty much. The fact that you talk about consitentcy is quite funny because Hamilton was more consistent than Alonso in 2007 driving the exact same car. All in all, you said your "ham can only win in the best car" nonsense. (funnily enough Hamilton has won 3 titles without the best car and even Alonso said Lewis is the only driver that can win in bad cars). Alonso is the one that showed he cant do shit when he is up against good driver sin the same car. He lost to Trulli in 2004, he lost to rookie Hmailton in 2007, he lost to Button in 2015. When he is up against strong competition he gets exposed. In Ferrari he was in his comfort zone, he had his wingman and his entire team around him, something that Hamilton didnt have. Hamitlon vs Alonso in the same car = 1-0 and thats what really matters.
Amazing overhead shots shows the ebb and flow, awesome! Edit after 2 years, watched again just after Australia 2024 and in the context of the Russel incident and penalty seeing Hamilton and Alonso race with differing lines and trying to compromise each other but both being aware of the others "game" and reacting accordingly makes me sad to see the penalty given to Alonso.

You can also visualize just how loose that mercedes is compared to the Ferraris, as has always been said about Hamilton and Alonso’s respective driving styles.
It's for better traction and allowing the DRS to do its work, thus enabling an overtake at the end of a straight where he shifts normal again instead of going to fast and having to pass in the middle part of the straight (not ideal). It's called short shifting, Kimi does it all the time

Hamilton still forcing other drivers out of the track just like he did in this clip with Alonso that’s why he collided with 9 other drivers in 2022.
He didn't. He just pushed him wide, which is okay. You're lying.
Beautiful sights and sounds
Damn I definitely don’t miss the way the cars looked from 2009-2016. Hideous
What a drive from one world champion on another! Of course Vettel went on to win the 2013 Canadian GP.
what do you expect if he had no competition

Alonso hidolo gran piloto en toda su vida siempre dando que pensar a los demas pilotos y a mi
3:28 Hamilton is nervous seeing Alonso chasing him...
Alonso said the exact same thing when Hamilton was chasing him in Australia 2010.
So let's correct your alternative facts with the real ones:
- in 2010 McLaren and Ferrari were constantly exchanging in positions and lap times.
Thank you so much!
That contact at the 10:00 mark is classic LH. No need to touch the left rear of Alonso but LH does it all of the time to other F1 competitors. LH is dirty racer.
cry about it why dont you
are you an idiot? look at alonso coming back while alongside he should completely be ahead before coming back in, both did the same thing lewis going out and alonso coming in but somehow its lewis's fault? go cry to your mom
Dirty? Maybe, but just like every F1 driver, they will try their best to keep the positions that they have lost + it's not a illegal move to make
Such a dirty racer that it even darkens his skin
Hi! Thanks for this video!!! Do you have more of vettel's or alonso's onboard 2013?? Greetings!

Fantastic footage and great w/o the annoying commentary. Ham trying to let Alo past before the DRS detection and Fernando realizing it is stuff of legend. Alo hunting down Ham, I could watch all day

Fantástico 👏👏👏
That’s alonso and Hamilton two who are former mclaren teammates going wheel to wheel for the battle for second
4:37 who in the hell was in that Force India. They literally spent an entire lap behind him before he got out of the way. Never in my life have I seen someone ignore blue flags like that for absolutely no reason.
Como sempre na 63 lap, Hamilton sempre espalhando na curva. Ele não tem culpa. Se alonso não recolhe, a FIA iria dizer que foi normal. Muito mais seguro, numa reta. Parabéns Alonso!

for the love of god please bring back this style of broadcast camera work
You can visually see how the handling characteristics of this generation of cars were both massively more difficult and massively more rewarding. You can also visualize just how loose that mercedes is compared to the Ferraris, as has always been said about Hamilton and Alonso’s respective driving styles.
That downshifting sound at the hairpin ❤️
On the onboard replay of Alonso passing lewis. Those gears shifts sound to low revving
It's for better traction and allowing the DRS to do its work, thus enabling an overtake at the end of a straight where he shifts normal again instead of going to fast and having to pass in the middle part of the straight (not ideal). It's called short shifting, Kimi does it all the time
Cuz he was using kers which gave him torque needed to accelerate faster.
This was basically F1's last year as F1. They've been racing with SUVs since then.

In my own personal opinion, Alonso is a better driver than Hamilton, but Hamilton is definitely NOT "bad" or unskilled...the dude is a remarkable driver but Alonso when given a car of equal ability or close to, will win more than not. Alonso's issues have been the cars he kept getting, they werent as good. 2023 looks like he might start showing people what he can really do again as the AM car seems quite competitive this year so far.
They had the same car in 2007
@Finity Do you have full races in your video library ? I would be very interested :) Thanks for that !
it’s awesome not having some high stressed voiced commentator explaining what i can visibly see.
Fernando Alonso THE GOAT.
What tf was that A. Sutil of Force India doing!? He deserved that drive through penalty for wrecking the 2.5 second gap Lewis had on Alonso
2.5 seconds gap? It was just 1.1, even if Sutil had thrown himself out to let Hamilton pass nothing would have changed, Alonso was closing on him quickly.
@@Rickiuz39 What earth are you smoking? You are right 1.1 but Ham maintained that gap for 2 laps only to be spoiled by stupid jealous sutil. It destroyed Hamilton momentum of keeping the gap over 1.0 sec. Alonso was eating like 0.2 sec every 2 or 3rd corners till it went down to 1.1-1.2. But when sutil holded ham up it went whopping down to 0.5 like nothing. So it destroyed hamilton focus on keeping alonso behind. So yes sutil should be F#$%$W% fired!
