Well done Jack. Thank you so much for that version that is in a lower key. I was able to sing along with you much better than Billy Joel’s version. I think that’s one of his best songs ever for sure.

Absolutely wonderful performance. I’m learning this in the original key using one of the RUclips vids. The fact that you picked up by the transposed version by ear is awesome, I’m having a hard enough time picking it up from a scrolling piano roll.

When I started the video, I was immediately impressed by your keyboard chops. Then you started singing and your video instantly got my undivided attention. I switched from my earbuds to my full headphones and turned up the volume.
That is the best cover of the song I've ever heard - vocally and musically.
You've got his nuances down perfectly.
I'm a keyboard player as well and I know how tricky that song is to learn at first. The time sig is just nuts.

Really nice cover! I was wondering what mic and pre-amp you use? I'm trying to work on my setup, I have an AT-2020 but a pretty poor power source.
I use an AT-2020 for most general recording and I have a Focusrite 2i2 as my 'pre-amp', I hope I understood the question correctly!
As great as the piano work is, your vocals are spot on. Very nice. And btw, that's my favorite Billy Joel song too.

Dude I am the biggest Billy Joel fan in the world and I have played that song myself and I was one of my favorite songs you actually play it better than Billy does and sing better than he does to no offense to him he is my idol but your style is actually a better version of that song.

@@PianoManJack Hey dude, just to shed some light on why this is; since he got older, Billy Joel has lost some of his range and has transposed a lot of songs down a full tone for live performance. He actually does this with a transpose button rather than transposing manually. I saw him explaining this on a talk he gave. It's usually played in F, and because of the nature of playing the song in this key it doesn't require many black notes. Playing in Eb looks more tricky and you manage it really well Billy himself doesn't have to re-learn all his own songs by way of the transpose button, which I think is fair enough considering he wrote them himself. On another note, your voice is absolutely fantastic. Such a great effort dude, I'll be subscribing for sure!
