Wow, your channel is gonna take off when people find it. Great work, solid commentary, knowledgeable, audio, lighting, camera angles. Don't forget your makeup. Haha
That Eastwood Ford Blue is now in my mental inventory, it looks GREAT. As someone who started doing this when a "new" dash pad, or any interior panel, meant dealing with a good upholstery shop and waiting upwards of 4+ months... Don't worry about that until it gets there. Keep up the slow and steady, researching, and asking us old farts and it will all come together fine. :)
That color looks spot on from here. Everything you do leads to the car getting finished regardless if you're building the engine or working on the interior. I'm sure many folks are excited about the interior because they were some of the coolest of the era, with the 4 buckets. You'll get there when you get there.
Yep, the Ford Blue was the perfect color and you did an amazing job prepping and painting it. Back in my day, we use a heatproof paint sold at Western Auto that matched the car manufacturer's color. It didn't require a primer, only a very clean, oil-free, surface!
Way to go Omar! I love ho] your build, slow and steady gets the job done. You're right about the Eastwood paint, it looks absolutely amazing. It has an awesome color
Wow that Eastwood paint has a really wide flow pattern. And what a sweet finish . Nice that you installed the freeze plugs after the block was painted. Great video as always!
nice job Omar. I am currently restoringI a 60 TBird that has a 352 FE. The engine and the trans have both been in the machine shop/trans shop for the winter getting rebuilt should be done soon I hope. I bought the same Eastwood 2k paints to use on the engine, I have had great luck with them in the past on other engines. I would also recommend their special high temp spray gray paint made just for the exhaust manifolds, looks real sharp. enjoying following your build,
Awesome I love the early 60’s thunderbirds. I’ve seen that exhaust paint as well, I might have to try it when it comes to the exhaust. Thanks for watching!
looking good dude!! really enjoying your posts on this project. I got a 64 galaxie convertible. I am currently getting the parts together to do the Borgenson power steering conversion.
That paint looks great, I always wondered about the 2K paint. My last engine build I brush painted the block with rustoleum, seems to be holding up well. I found out that's durable somewhat on accident. Years ago, I put a water pump on my truck in the dead of winter and didn't paint it, it got all rusty and ugly, so I brush painted it with some gloss black paint in a can I had laying around, still looks like new years later. Like you said, it's hard to go back to the duplicolor paint after either the 2K eastwood paint or some other alternative. I've found the duplicolor paint tends to fall off after a few years on cast surfaces.
I’ve heard of rustoleum being really good with painting engines. I might have to try it next time as this paint is pretty expensive haha but I guess I’ll find out how durable it is once it’s running
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie I think next time I have valve covers or something to paint I'll try the Eastwood 2k paint. I don't quite understand rustoleum paint, I find the aerosol stuff to be really fussy and kind of crappy paint but the stuff in the can is totally different.
That blue is gorgeous! I use headlamps pretty often , mainly when im crawling under a vehicle or simply because my lighting in my garage is terrible. Are you going to paint the galaxy? Im in love with the patina on it. I know some aren't a fan of that look and i wont give you a hard time if you do. Im stoked watching this build and you're right, there's not much covering Galaxy builds on YT. Cant wait to see more of that 428.
hey is see that you didn't sand the block before laying down the primer. how come you skipped that step? Kelly, the expert tech person over at Eastwood says the 2K AeroSpray High Temp Ceramic Engine Paint and Primer requires the surface to be sanded and cleaned with paint prep before laying down the primer. Their own tech videos show their products going onto previously primed surfaces. I know that when it comes to painting 99% of as successful job is in the prep. So is there something I am missing?? Did you find any issues not priming that engine block over time? Thanks!
Block was hot tanked so I just degreased it and used the sem solve to remove any remaining waxes, grease, dirt. You can also use a blow torch to dry all the remaining water from the cast iron
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie so you didn’t need to sand it before priming? Weird because Eastwood says that must be done. Maybe that’s just for bare metal. Anyways how has the paint held up since then?
How to do you like that head lamp Omar? Been seeing it all over the place in ads. Beautiful job brother, my favorite build on YT right now. (EDIT: I asked too soon lol, didn't see you did a quick review lol)
I love your attention to detail. The name stampings on the freeze plugs are all perfectly aligned. Nicely done. No short-cuts.
Haha I try to do the best I can, thanks for watching !

Haha yes, the interior is my favorite as well. But need to keep going with this build so it can be back on the street!

Looks great
I was looking away when you were spraying! Should have known you had that covered! Great job

Haha yes I like the cleanliness of the plugs after the block is painted. Thanks for watching!
Eastwood has really nice products. Paints are more expensive but well worth it
Yes very true, they have some good stuff
For freze plugs I always use #2 Permatex Its brown in color but works really good!

Wow nice! I’ll probably do the same conversion in the future
Engine is all part of the build, looks great. You don't go cheap when buying things for the Galaxy.
Haha yes I would rather wait and know that I will be getting quality parts instead of trying to finish fast and it being subpar.
Great choice in music, btw
dude you are doing a great job.
Thanks appreciate it!!
Great content bro!
Thanks man appreciate it!

Eventually I will paint the galaxie but for now I will keep it as is. I think it looks pretty cool too so painting it will be in the far future haha.
good job I enjoy your work
Thanks appreciate it!
Hey there he is , I was just wondering about you !
Haha this one took me a while to finish, but need to keep continuing the build!

Haha thank you appreciate it! The lamp is really good! I use it all the time, definitely a very nice product to use.
What is your background regarding car repair, etc.. Thanks.
No background haha just lots of research. Building this engine is going to require a lot of studying so I try to read books and watch videos
Well, you are doing a great job!
Love those FE ENGINE I'm looking for a good 428fe block if you know of anyone for sale
Haha you and me as well. There’s one on eBay if you really want it, a bit overpriced though
I paint my Ford engines with Rust-oleum Sail Blue or Royal Blue for the dark Ford Blue. It's better, cheaper, and easy to find.
