The turn where Rajan started to correctly call the Thunderclap in the 1v1 situation was a 50/50 I think and Rajan got the read. Was one of the craziest G1's I've ever witnessed.
I understand Justin going for the protect at 18:52 as it's the best move if Rajan goes for the moonblast, since getting enough protects in a row could lead to Whimsicott losing speed control from tailwind, but isn't Rajan's encore that got protected really risky? If Justin picked a move with neutral priority like thunderbolt, encore would fail and Rajan would die from struggle, no? I'm kinda lost on why he chose that last encore
Prankster encore has +1 priority, if he clicked thunderbolt which has no priority he would've been encored first and forced to use thunderclap due to encore instead. Protect has +6 priority which allows him to use it before encore and be locked into that. Being locked into thunderclap has no chance of winning, while being locked into protect has some chances.
@@kanhaiyalalgautam1841 I’m curious about that interaction though since thunderclap has no PP, would he struggle or would it fail and then next turn he would struggle allowing moonblast to KO first
@@nathanielwilliams6664I think Moonblast would go first since Struggle is its own move. So the Raging Bolt would take damage from Moonblast then take the recoil from Struggle.
@@hefancy6921 I'm aware of it and even if it is not a regional is an actual improvement for the country. Btw I'm not even Mexican but it was harsh to acknowledge that Pokemon has never held a regional on this excluded country, even though if they sell thousands of copies over here.

Thunderclap has a priority of +1. If Thunderclap's target has selected a physical or special attack and has not yet had a chance to execute its move, Thunderclap will damage the target; otherwise, Thunderclap will fail. Thunderclap only depends on the move the target has selected, and is not affected by any consideration of whether the attack can actually be executed, such as status conditions like sleep or freeze or Abilities like Truant.
ThunderClap works like Sucker Punch in that it hits with +1 priority if the opponent chooses an attacking move, it fails to hit at all if the opponent uses an status move
there are a lot of calculations having to be done in the moment, the pressure of playing in a tournament and with all of these absolutely insane pokemon essentially enforce having to have longer matches so the players don't feel that they're losing only on time, rather than strategy Edit: also, even one wrong choice in switching or a move can cause you to lose the match, all of these players have to play perfectly to win, so the longer times are also to help with making sure players can make their best choices Edit 2: comparing pokemon VGC battles to chess is also a dumb argument, since chess is meant to be a faster game with less factors involved, such as the pieces moving, while pokemon has many random factors like moves missing, low rolls and high rolls, and status conditions. once again, players have to take all of this into account when making a move.
Miraidon just absolutely destroying everything wasn't something I knew I wanted to see
fastest bike in the west
Wild a mascot box art legendary would contribute to a win ..
Damn i can’t believe he pulled off that last encore holy crap
Tiny grass poof vs huge electric dinosaur. Who wins? What a game.

Whimsicott the goat
I BELIEVED IN MIRAIDON WHEN NO ONE WOULD!!!
Wtf was that encore on raging bolt. That shit actually broke the game lmao
why did justin protect when he ran out of thunderclap pp. why not thunderbolt?
He would’ve lost if whimscott went for moonblast and he didn’t wanna take that chance so he opted to try and stall tailwind with a triple protect

And if the read was right for Rajan, Moonblast would have been a knockout either way. It was just a good read.
I don’t understand, whimsicott out speed raging bolt and he’s scared to use moonblast when it’s one hit away.

Thunderclap
1hp whimsicott is going to get clapped
Thunder clap is basically a Suckerpunch equivalent for electric type. Signature move of Raging bolt.
+1 Prio (thunder)clap them cheeks
we want ash back
🥺🥺🥺🥺
Ash has literally nothing left to do. He doesn’t need to come back
Question from a noob: why didn’t whimsicot just go for Moonblast while Raging Bolt was stuck in Encore?? Why did it have to stall?
Thunderclap is a priority move that can only hit if the target attacks like Sucker Punch. So if Whimsicott used moonblast Raging Bolt would KO first.
Fourth
Could have done moonblast like a couple of turns ago when ragingbolt was stuck on encore thunderclap lol I don’t get it
thunderclap is priority so moonblasting make him lose lol

First
Why do so many of these male players play as females?
since the majority of the players in these tournaments are straight men they can seduce them using their character
Why not?
Because we have free will
The switches they use on stream do not run their savefile as indicated by their player names being "Player 1" and "Player 2" 2:21
20:35 just literally looked like he wanted to end everything lmao
