Archaludon just feels wayyyy too strong. A terrific defensive typing with its weaknesses typically bring physical attacks and having stamina. With incredible stats and a great move pool?? Too good I think
I think Wolfe’s team just flat out had no real answers. Earthpower/aurasphere or something that hits neutral on the special attack side was what he really needed before snarls went out. Bringing inceneroar which effectively did nothing for 2 games was kind of… yeah… Body press uses the user’s defense stat so intimidate does nothing, while parting shot only really lowers special attack in the interaction.
@@ui8087 even if you aren't hitting for super effective on the special side you have to have something. In a meta where Sneasler is known for high usage you need something better to hit the Arch consistently.
Once again we see why Archaludon is banned in 6v6 singles Smogon. Guess we all knew Archaludon and Ursaluna were gonna be easy picks with the power level. I mean the official pokemon art for reg H shows them. Sneasler is known to be broken but i think we all thought it was going to be slightly too frail for doubles. Dire claw is just an infuriating move. Arch would feel alot more balanced if it didnt have body press. Its like best of every world ever. Mixed attacker without investing while getting insane defenses without investing.
@@5knapp5 Yeah Snarl on top of his Stamina boosts plus typing with an assault vest. There's hardly any Special ground and fighting moves. It's really just Ursaluna bloodmoon right now and you just one show it with body press so it's forced to Tera. Everything else just sits back and watches you tank stuff and get hospitality, heal pulse, love dew from the side. People would probably run toxic in vgc of all things just for this mon... but its steel of course. Like I said, best of every world.

Respect to Wolfe for bringing a Yanmega to tournaments. Stefan team is very boring tbh. Every pokémon on his team is only there to keep Archuladon alive.

Hindsight is 20/20, but that game losing starting turn in game 3 was so easily avoidable. Stefan's gameplan the whole time was get arch's defence up and have him be a raidboss. 100 percent the gameplan was beatup and tera ghost. There would be zero downsides in just close combatting the arch and fakeout into arch as well. If maushold uses follow me, it doesnt get arch defence up and its only other play is to beatup on arch. There was never a world where close combat into maus was the play especially since you have the incin threatening fakeout. Not to mention taking yanma every fight, it barely did anything against the gameplan. Sure it hits some good value but we saw the only reason was because stefan let it since it wasnt any threat whatsoever. I dont know what wolfeys 5th and 6th mon were but they definitely wouldve helped more than yanma.
Cant fake out and close combat the arch because maushold is faster than sneasler. arch will be at +5 defense before sneasler even hits. then the arch player switches in sinistcha and probably just wins off +6 defense full health arch anyways. just a massive weakness to beat up + arch which is a common archetype
@@jordanlowe7347 the better play would have been to tera incin ghost and knock off plus sneasler close combat since that deals chip + removes vest that allows for a winning archaludon endgame
The commentary quite literally takes away from the experience instead of adding to it. They are as annoying and redundant as you can possibly be. Change it up, this is going to be remembered as a true embarrassment for everyone involved
Why did Wolfe leave archaludon alone all 3 games. He let it set up and remain high hp and keep its assault vest. I wonder what his plan was to kill it he only won game 1 on RNG
If I were to guess, he figured it would be nearly impossible to kill with the support mons still active. Maushold was buffing the defences with Friend Guard, Klefki was setting up screens, and Poltchageist was playing healer and redirecter for most of Wolfe's team.
I probably would've lead incin + archaludon, fake out the archaludon in order to let wolfe get an elecrro shot off. And then Wolfie's arch can terastalize into the electric type in order to live the body press on the next turn. Thanks to the ability stalwart, Maushold cannot redirect a plus one dragon pulse from Wolfie's archaludon, and Wolfie's archaludon outspeeds, so he should be able to take it down in three hits without too much trouble. Hopefully.
Why wouldn’t Stefan use Body Press on Wolfes Archaludon in the late game? That Flash Cannon into Yanmega was silly when he could’ve killed the opposing Archaludon with a body press. Also, the follow me from Maushold was weird when he could’ve used Beat Up again on his Archaludon and really secured the win. Oh well, at least he managed to manage the win, but just barely.
I hate watching stall strats, like watching paint dry. It sucked when Rajan Bal used encore Whimsicott to PP stall Raging Bolt and it sucks watching Archaludon sit on the field and just soak hits.
Some player just hit the stronger move, other players play smart strategy games. Both are acceptable gameplays. You may hate it because it’s not “strong game” but for me is just another type of strategy than just “strong move makes ouchie”
