    Using your advice, I’ve actually built a team and went online with and saw some success. Won my first ever ranked game which felt great. I took an existing team, watched a team report video on how it functions and then removed/changed stuff after play testing. Then after more of that, I took the concept of that team and added my own spin on it with some personal favourite pokemon. Even used you ev spread video to outspeed a modest gholdengo without fully investing in my speed. Just know your videos have helped far more than I can begin to describe, just know your videos are making a huge difference. ❤

    I tried it myself and I ended up with a pretty fun team
    I'm no vgc player but I play showdown sometimes
    I decided to try and make a reg h snow team since a lot of the meta is weak to ice
    So I started with alolan ninetails and cetitan as my core weather duo
    They're both weak to fire, steel, rock, and fighting, so I added araquanid to cover those weaknesses and to block make it rain with wide guard
    Then I added garchomp so I could better hit steel and fire types since araquanid is better for support and to have another offensive pokemon
    I needed some speed control and some fire type coverage so I added talonflame to set up tailwind and to hit fast and hard before opening up a slot for another mon. It also works well with garchomps earthquake.
    With my 2 main cores rounded out I needed a grass type support, so I added rillaboom as a pivot who can add terrain and use fake out
    I won't mention all the steps after but belly drum ice spinner cetitan behind Aurora veil with slush rush is a deadly combination and the rest of the team works nicely together

    Great Video! Thank you so much for explaining how Teambuilding works. The most insane thing is: I used a very similar team like you showed in this video. My team is Garchomp, Dragonite, Alola Ninetails, Crorverknight, Sneasler and Incin. I wanted to make a cool Dragon Offensive Team with sneasler couching, and croverknight for tailwind while a9 use Auroa Veil. Unfortunately, this team ended up not being good because it focuses not on being a balanced or offensive. It trys to be both but that doesn't work. I feel like my core with couching was a fail. My problem is speed control. Thankfully, your video explained the importance of speed pretty well, so I can understand that. I really didn't knew that Tr is a thing for speed control. This video is pretty helpful!

    excelent video! I just have a question, for example if I instead decide to build a team around a weak or more offmeta pokemon, let's say I want to play BW doubles OU and I want to use a team with lumineon as lead with tailwind, icy wind, scald and protect, what should I pick next? build a core with defensive/offensive sinergy, or pick pokemons to counter popular picks like landorus T, amonguss, genesect etc? or maybe focus on a team with slower pokemons which would appreciate the speed control from tailwind and icy wind

    • @TheDelybird
      @TheDelybird  8 дней назад +1

      Sounds like both of your ideas are good, being able to deal with meta things, as well as things that synergize well with your pick.
      The main thing about building around weaker Pokémon is finding a niche that they can fill, and focus on using them for that one specific purpose. So for something like Lumineon maybe a fast/bulky speed control option, like you said with icy wind and tailwind. Think of kind of a worse Whimsciott.
      I am planning on doing a video about building with weak/off meta Pokémon in the future that will go more in depth. But whenever you see niche Pokémon do well, they either do something no other/very few other Pokémon can, or they do something that other Pokémon can but they still do it pretty well, and focus on doing that one thing well.
