3 interior things I did to my 2023 C8 Corvette

- 1. Electrical tape for marking the top of the steering wheel
2. Headrest emblems from Corvette Mods
3. Installation of waterfall (or attempt to) from PFYC.com. Didn't work out so well for me. You might want to research this item before purchasing. It's called the Body color painted waterfall extension for C8 Corvette. Item code C8-2065 Авто/Мото
Your C8 lives better than most people..congrats, beautiful car.
Thanks. I know you can't really love a car but it is the nicest car I have ever had. I'm so fortunate
I bought the RPI Waterfall cover as well. I had similar problem. I finally over came it with industrial strength Velcro Tape I purchased. Any HD or LO store carries it. It comes in a "double" roll, one roll is felt with peel adhesive backing, other roll is the plastic loop-hook with peel adhesive. It's 2" wide and designed for holding garden tools or other heavy items.
I put felt strips on OEM waterfall then put strips of plastic roll on inside of RPI cover. I was sure to cover full length on sides as well as add a small strip to bottom lip so it would not kick-out and block center console compartment door.
I used a lot, I covered pretty much every area of both OEM waterfall as well as inside of RPI cover where the two came in contact together. It wasn't easy getting in place, it took a lot adjusting and 6 beers to get it just right. But I finally got it in place so that it doesn't impede console door or pop-up waterfall speaker.
So far it's been holding for a month / 800+ miles later.
WOW- You meant business with that stuff. I finally got mine to work well also. Do like the way it looks so I'm glad I didi it.
I'm very pleased with RPI waterfall cover. FYI - they have come out with replacement frunk panels to replace that oem charcoal plastic. Available in C8 colors. Read their note on installation.
Beautiful car and garage/museum. Nice minor mods, colored flags are sweet. Sounds like the waterfall part may benefit from some heat before installation to expand a bit, will be interesting to hear what the manufacturer suggests. Congrats!
Thanks for the suggestion. It is a stiff piece of fiberglass. I hope I do hear back.
Love the look of your car, I almost went with yellow but I liked Amplify orange a little better. I'll update when I get my cover on Corvette forum. Thanks sir.
The yellow ,orange and rapid blue are the sportiest colors for that car in my opinion. After all, it is a sports car. Did you get the waterfall in orange? Cant remember if you told me
@@carsandwhatnotsenior4279 Yes, I ordered Amplify orange. Should look great. Already have the emblem to put on it also
very nice@@user-rg4dd3od6n
Man I love tht garage ! Can't wait till my C8 is living it up like tht !
I cant tell you how that garage makes me feel. I'm very lucky
You make me have Man Cave envy! LOL! 😂😂😎👍🏼👍🏼
I have to admit its great. Took me almost 2 years to build it out and of course money. But , ultimately it was worth it to me
the waterfall really ties in with the seatbelts. visually brings it all together.
Yeah and brings a touch of the exterior inside
The waterfall cover is great. The stock area is really useless. The mod work your doing is the kind of projects I enjoy. I don't know why there hasn't been more customization of the side engine covers. It's quite easy. Keep them coming..
Thanks so much for the comments
Where did you get the headrest flags. And how do they go on?
They should have design it like a glovebox with a door, you could use it to store/hide small stuffs, such as a phone lol. About the black cluster trim, was that an option or did you add a cover?
That area between the seats is ugly. I'm rather old so I only have a flip phone and don't require a charging area. The waterfall covers that area and brings a bit of the car color inside which is like previous generations. And you are right- an extra little glovebox would be welcomed. Yes that is a carbon fiber trim around the cluster that I added.
Can you tell me where you bought the Z51 decals you installed on the back quarter panels? I'm sure you mentioned it in a previous video but I can't seem to find it. Also the license plate bracket with the corvette decal, did that come on the bracket or did you put it on yourself. Thanks
The z51 decals came from ebay. There are a few vendors on there offering them. However, I have since removed them because I felt it was a little too much with the StringrayR decals that are on the car. But I replaced them with 3"billet z51 emblems from West coast Corvette and installed them on that little area in front of the nacelles . Looks pretty good. Cant remember about the license plate except I installed that vinyl transfer corvette graphic myself. Just cant remember where i got the graphic.. Gary
lift the center speaker off, put the waterfall in and reinstall the speaker, this should cause the speaker lip to be over the lip of the waterfall and fix your issue.
I had done that Mike. The problem was where to install double sided tape or velcro. It took me a number of tries to get the right placement and product. In this case by using velcro down the angular sides of the waterfall. In one instance, i had used double sided tape on the lower sides of the waterfall, snapped the speaker cover down. 2 hours later the waterfall had pushed upwards and outwards unsnapping the speaker cover and blocking the console door from opening. Gary
Have you thought about getting the carbon fiber trim from nextgenspeed to go over your waterfall? I just received mine today! It’s been on backorder for 3 months.
Actually I am all set with mine. Finally fiqured out a way of installing it and it looks really nice. Brings a touch of the exterior inside. I dont have a phone that I would use for charging in that space anyhow. Your carbon fiber piece does look nice.
I do like the cross flags. Not on board with steering wheel addition. The water fall addition might be a great addition. Once the installation is figured out.
It wasn't so bad once I figured it out. I address it in my last video. At least, everything I did inside is easily removable. Thanks for your comments. Gary
Where did you order the Headrest emblems from Corvette Mods
yes, from Corvette mods
100% BETTER with that Flag on the headrest. Where did you learn that from? Bolder statement than Ferrari seats, and MUCH better in my opinion.
Yeah but the Ferrari horse is actually stitched into the headrest. This is like a patch you would sew on your jacket. It really doesn't look bad and adds so much I think. It covers the embosed area well, not perfect, but you would have to stare at it to detect anything.
I am experiencing the same problem with the waterfall cover. I agree it is a very nice piece and well painted but getting it to stay in place is very difficult. I have contacted RPI with no solution, and the person I spoke with didn't understand that area in the C8. I will try again to get a response from them.
John I address the problem in my latest video. It ended up simple for me but took a number of different trial and errors to get the solution. I got it to stay with velcro lined down the angular part of the waterfall. Pushed it on , snapped the speaker grill closed and it worked. Console door works with no hangup and its staying in place.
@@carsandwhatnotsenior4279 Thanks for the quick response. I'd like to see your car with it installed. Has your new video posted yet? Thanks, John
@@johnreardon1202 Yes, I show the waterfall in the car at the end of the video.
Would mounting tape work on the waterfall?
Actually , I did try double sided tape but it didn't work for me. Ended up using velcro down the angular sides and it worked. No problem since i did that.
I have a 24 C* HTC in Accelerate yellow also. I was going to get the painted waterfall from RPI. Did you ever get it to fit properly and if so how? Thanks.l
The waterfall is really nice. Whoever paints these does a nice job. I ended up using velcro lining the edges and it worked out nicely. Gave up on trying double sided tape. I think it really finishes off that area. Gary
Thanks Gary. How much velcro and exactly where did you apply it. Where did you source the velcro? Thanks. Jim
Jim check my video( Exterior adds to my C8 corvette.) I kinda show where I used 2 strips of the velcro. Sourced the velcro from an office supply house like Staples. Gary@@user-wh8fu8nt1j
Thanks Gary. That video helps. Whats up with RPI and SCP? Their customer service is non existent! How long did it take to get the waterfall? One last thing. I am so worried about hurting the car. Is it very difficult to lift up the speaker cover and snap it back down? Sorry for the stupid questions. BTW my car has 83 miles on it and we're in Door County WI so have sometimes terrible winters here. Wish I had your garage. Or did you move to the garage and redo your living room for the C8? Ha ha. 🤭🤔Jim @@carsandwhatnotsenior4279
Thanks for the info, waiting on my waterfall cover. Hopefully it comes soon
Hi where exactly did you get the cross flag for the seats!
They came from a place called Corvette Mods. But I think it merged with another company. Actually, I haven't seen those since the company merged. Happy that at least I have them. Actually like the way they look. Gary
Where did he get the emblems from?
What type of adhesive did you use to apply the patch?
Did you ever figure out how to mount the waterfall
Yes- ended up using velcro and it has worked well.
I can’t find Corvette Mods??
It was taken over by another company a while ago. It seems like the company chose not to carry the embroidered emblems. I dont know where else to find them. Maybe ETSY. They're not perfect emblems but I really like them anyhow. They really add to my sky cool seats. Nicer look than the embossed emblems

Thank you
Fill that Center charging station full of concrete it's worthless, everyone has a protecter case and you don't want to remove to drop it in
I agree
don't laugh...I reached over with my right side arm and pulled a muscle...I couldn't move until my wife came out to the garage ha ha ha
@@FloridaFun10007 I'm not laughing, that very well can happen
7 weeks seems like a long time. Turn around should be quicker than that
Yeah you would think. Thats how long it took for mine. Hopefully they are quicker about it now.
Try Velcro tape
I did. Couldn't get that to work either. The piece has to be positioned just right to fill gaps properly and allow the glove box door to swing freely. Just too much pressure from the piece fitting too tight
lift the speaker cover
